Chapter 130: Chapter 130
Henri didn’t have to wait long before Louis and Dio found his room, he rose to his feet to open the door and invite them in. They exchanged room numbers as soon as it was given to them so that they would all know how to get to each other’s dorm rooms.
Dio had his hair up this time, a little bow and arrow accessory pinned to his dark hair. "This dorm room isn’t much different from last year’s." He noted, wandering around.
Louis just beelined straight for Henri’s big bed, flopping on it with a groan. "I’m exhausted, can we wait a bit before we head for the cafeteria?"
Henri drew out his reading chair and settled comfortably down on it, "We can, we’re not exactly in a hurry."
After exploring for a short while, Dio pulled out something hidden beside a wall-side shelf. "Did you bring this?" He asked in bewilderment.
Henri looked just as shocked to see it, it was the broad sword that Audie had brought from heavens know-where and had somehow ended up in his dorm room. "No, I didn’t."
Dio swung the sword around a bit, "Think the school did it?"
Henri huffed out a breath, "I doubt it, why would they go through that much trouble?"
"Why wouldn’t they?" Louis’ muffled voice came from the bed, "They must have gone through your dorm room after you left and made sure that whatever was left behind was moved to your new room."
"But I thought it belonged to the academy?" Henri frowned, he had expected the sword to be confiscated and returned to its original spot, not for them to just hand it back to him like it was a textbook he left behind.
"I wouldn’t be surprised if Audie brought it in his suitcase when he resumed college," Dio said bluntly, absorbed with trying to balance the sword on two of his fingertips, the sword swaying precariously.
"That’s it, I’m giving it back to him." Henri decided, the people charged with clearing out his room must have thought him strange for having a sword.
"No, don’t." Louis, said sharply, shooting upright. "That would only spell disaster." ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Henri knew that Louis was right, giving Audie a sword to do as he wished was a terrible idea. He was still curious about where exactly the sword had come from, although part of him wasn’t sure he wanted to know.
Dio returned the sword to its spot by the shelf and straightened up, "Don’t you think it’s about time we head down to the cafeteria?" He suggested, making his way to the bed.
Louis had laid back down but when Dio came over, he rolled over. "It is, the others might be there already." He agreed, getting even more comfortable on the bed.
"So you say yet you’re not budging an inch," Dio said with humor in his voice, leaning over Louis. "Want me to carry you?"
Louis seemed to seriously consider this which made Henri watch on in interest, it was fascinating to see how much people could change in so little time.
"You must be tired too, I’ll be fine." Louis demurred.
"But I don’t mind..."
"I’ll walk, just help me up..."
Henri’s interested look faded to a bland expression, he should have known that they wouldn’t change that much. He rose to his feet as well when Dio gave in and helped Louis up, he had taken off his overcoat and was currently wearing just his waistcoat and cravat.
"Why are you both so tired anyway? Was it that strenuous to get ready for college?"
Louis looked sheepish at Henri’s question while Dio just started for the door to hold it open for Louis.
"I like to clean the manor every morning and then cook," He said slowly.
Henri shot him a look of disbelief, "And I can guess that even today wasn’t an exception?"
Louis ruffled his tawny hair, his awkward actions a clear enough answer to Henri’s words.
"Don’t you have maids and cooks to handle that?" Henri turned on Dio instead, still shocked.
"It doesn’t matter, Lou likes to do it so I let him." He said grumpily like he himself didn’t approve of it but he couldn’t turn Louis down.
Louis went over to Dio’s side and held his upper arm, "Plus, Dio always helps me."
Henri slowly blinked as he tried to process his friends’ words, "So let me get this straight, there are servants present but you both decided to do the chores instead?"
"That’s not a crime," Dio said defensively, leading the way out with Louis on his arm.
Henri followed after them, "Could that possibly be the reason why you didn’t come to visit me?" He demanded, still a little hurt that he hadn’t gotten to see them during the holidays.
"It’s not," Louis quickly reassured him, "I just like to help out a little." frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Henri decided to let the matter go; seeing as it was Louis and Dio, there was probably an underlying issue that they were both using chores to avoid. He wasn’t interested in being roped into being their relationship counselor again so he didn’t probe.
If only Henri could speak to Gisèle, they could both probably fix the issue, seeing as Gisèle was good at observing and deciphering what was wrong and Henri was decidedly good at implementing solutions.
All in all, Dio and Louis would eventually fix their skirmish, it just required a little time.
Louis was used to being independent and having people relying on him so although he had been on board with the idea of moving into Dio’s manor with his mother, he was not ready to completely rely on Dio.
So as a way to make himself useful, he kept himself busy around the manor. He got along well with Anastasia, and Colette thought he was a delight but soon they had complaints about how a guest shouldn’t be doing their jobs.
Colette nearly had a fit when she had come into the kitchen the next afternoon after they moved in to find Louis in an apron, holding a ladle. To make things worse, Dio was right beside him because they were attached at the hip.
