Chapter 129: Chapter 129
Jac had the presence of mind to look sheepish while Audie had already moved on to the next thing that caught his eye.
"That carriage looks interesting," He noted, pointing at a lavish carriage that had just ridden up.
He unwittingly caught the attention of the others and they all looked to see who would emerge from the carriage. Could it perhaps be another noble?
It was a single carriage, a footman dressed in livery hurrying down to open the door.
An unfamiliar Alpha stepped out of the carriage dressed in the academy’s uniform. The dark blue of his uniform showed him to be in the same year as the others.
"Do you know who he is?" Errol asked despite himself.
The other three shrugged, indicating that they had no idea.
"Maybe he’s a transfer student like I am," Jac pointed out, touching his hair which was cut really short in a military style.
He was about the same height as Audie but had more muscle-tone from spending years in a military-run school. Black hair, cut short and striking hazel green eyes stood out of an attractive face.
Jacques Galtier’s father was a retired Lieutenant from the army who wanted his son to follow his footsteps by all means.
The rest of the crowd’s attention were also drawn to the newcomer, there was something about him that drew attention.
Naturally, the media caught wind of this and although no one in the crowd seemed to recognize the new comer, they did. They rushed over to the carriage with glittering eyes and excited faces, eager to get a big scoop.
The newcomer in question that was quickly raising a ruckus was the crowned prince and the heir to the throne of a nearby country. Prince Alexander Felton of Tharfield had transferred into the prestigious Alpha Academy. It was a huge scoop indeed.
Marina and Eli slowly turned to each other to share bewildered looks.
"Darling? Did you know of this?" Marina whispered to her husband, trying to keep their conversation out of the sharp ears of the few reporters that had stayed behind.
Eli shook his head, the Academy and Institute were international colleges, citizens of other countries were free to apply without his knowledge or permission.
"We met King Felton at the annual summit recently and he made no mention of it." He also noted. They were friendly countries so it was a bit of a surprise.
"I’m sure he didn’t think it was that important." Marina said thoughtfully, fixing a smile for a photographer.
Eli had offered his arm to her which she held on tightly to, soldiers standing around them to keep the reporters and the rest of the public from getting too close.
"I-"
Eli started to say but his response was interrupted by a reporter holding up a microphone to his face. "Your Majesty, are the rumors of a possible alliance between Reinhold and Tharfield by marriage true?"
Eli blinked in shock, dumbfounded by this question. Marriage rumors? Where were they getting their bloody information from?
Marina stepped forward with a radiant smile to answer the question; from the expression on her husband’s face, she had a feeling that he would say something abrasive. "I’m afraid that those are mere rumors which hold no ounce of truth in them. I fully believe and trust that the media will not spread misinformation about the matter." She said clearly, not wanting herself to be misquoted.
The cause of the dissent strode up at that point with a familiar smile. "King Eli, Queen Marina." He casually addressed them, bowing deeply. "How fortunate I am to have my path cross with yours."
"Alexander, what a pleasant surprise!" Marina smiled graciously, letting the young Alpha Prince take her gloved hand.
Eli shook his hand in turn, eyeing up Alexander suspiciously. He was still disgruntled about the question posed to him earlier, especially since he knew that the fires of the rumor would only rise higher.
He shook his hand nonetheless and offered his hand to his wife again. "Unfortunately, we have to leave just as you arrived, if you’ll excuse us." He managed to say in measured tones, walking off with Marina in tow.
Marina empathically patted her husband’s arm. "Are you still upset, Eli?" She asked as they neared their entourage of carriages.
"A little." He grudgingly acquiesced
He couldn’t help it, he wouldn’t have ever made the connection himself but Roman Felton was eager for an alliance between their countries, he wouldn’t put it past the scheming King to come up with something like this.
"It might not be a terrible idea you know, Alexander would be a great match for Henri." Marina said lightly, allowing her husband help her up into their carriage.
Eli scoffed, "Henri despises him."
"In his defense, Henri doesn’t like most people." The Queen countered, seeming to have fun with this.
"Yet he returned after only a year of college with enough friends to host a small dinner." Eli was quick to counter.
Marina laughed, her voice sounding like tinkling bells. She didn’t think she had ever seen her husband get so worked up like this about anything before, "I’m certain Henri can take care of himself, maybe Alexander will be the person to bring him out of his shell."
Eli’s response was more disgruntlement, he didn’t think it was likely that that would be the outcome. frёeωebɳovel.com

"Did he just walk up to the King and Queen?" Valentin watched in disbelief as the new student ignored the cameras flashing in his face and the several questions being flung at him to go have a homely conversation with the rulers of Reinhold.
"I suppose he’s someone very important, " Errol said dismissively. "Now, we have been standing here for too long, let’s get a move on."
"Don’t you want to find out who he is?" Audie tried to coax him.
"No." Errol said immediately, "I want to settle into my dorm room and find Henri." He tossed over a shoulder, marching right on.
Audie had no choice but to follow along, sneaking one last look at the student that was currently bowing to the retreating King and Queen. Just who was he?
