Chapter 106: Chapter 106
Errol knew that drinking it would be his biggest mistake but he wasn’t thinking logically anymore and he just wanted Hunt to leave. He took the glass, drank it down, and slammed it down on the table with daggers coming out of his eyes.
Hunt whistled at this but got to his feet, "I always keep to my words." He leaned closer to say. "And if you ever get tired of your boy toy, you know where to find me." He tagged on.
Errol just watched him through half-lidded eyes, buzzing starting up in his ears. He hardly heard what Hunt said before he slumped over the table.
Hunt watched him with amusement, reluctantly leaving him only to bump into someone else a few feet away from the sofa. "Hey, asshole, watch where you’re going..." He said looking up into blazing gold eyes.
Nael didn’t ask any questions, he attacked first and then asked questions later. Hunt barely got all his words out before his vision reddened, Nael smashing the glass cup in his hand over the Alpha’s head. The contents of the cup drenched his hair and soaked his fancy overcoat.
He placed a firm hand on Hunt’s shoulder and threw the Alpha on the other sofa, Hunt bounced on the sofa with a groan. Their corner of the ballroom was a little hidden and the other occupants of the nearby sofas had gotten up to join the dance that was currently ongoing. So there was none the wiser of what was going on.
Hunt cursed under his breath and gingerly touched the side of his head only to come away with fingers stained with blood.
Nael ignored him after that, hurrying to Errol’s side in a heartbeat, trembling in his hands as he gingerly lifted his boyfriend up. He had shown up just as a strange Alpha leaned over Errol and his boyfriend slumped.
He glared across the table at Hunt who had a hard time recovering from the hit. "What the fuck did you do to him?" He asked in a dark voice, holding Errol close.
"Fuck," Hunt cursed, slowly sitting up with a hand on his head. "What’s your deal?"
Errol’s head lolled and black flashed in Nael’s vision, keeping Errol in his arms he reached across the table to snag Hunt by the collar and drag him over the table.
"What the fuck did you do to him?" He repeated, enunciating each word.
A cold sensation slithered down Hunt’s back, he had a sudden premonition that the Alpha seated from him could and would not hesitate to rip his heart out.
He immediately put up his hands in a gesture of surrender. "He’s just drunk, it was just a jok... fuck!" He cursed again, the sound laced with pain.
The shitbag of an Alpha had slammed his head down on the mahogany table, it made more blood run through his bushy eyebrows and down his nose, the stinging pain making him curl up on himself.
Errol mumbling something made Nael give him his full attention. "Errol?"
The strawberry blonde-haired Alpha was slumped over him, his face was flushed and he slowly opened his eyes to reveal a dazed expression. "Nael?" He said slowly, the urgency in his voice still evident although he was totally inebriated. "I’m scared."
Nael felt his heart constrict in his chest, a myriad of feelings clawing up his throat when Errol weakly clutched at his overcoat. "It’s fine, you’re fine, I’m here..." He said in a flurry, his words feeling acidic on the tip of his tongue.
He was supposed to be there all the time... But he wasn’t.
He had long forgotten about the squirming Alpha on the other sofa, his attention completely taken up by Errol. The ball was just beginning, they would still be here for a couple of hours at least. He couldn’t let Errol remain in the ballroom.
"Can you walk?" He asked gently, helping the older Alpha to his feet. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Errol blinked and slightly shook his head like he was struggling to stay lucid. "Yes." He answered but his words were slurred. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
It was enough for Nael, he would deal with the Alpha much later but for now, he had to get Errol over to somewhere comfortable.
Making their way over to the closest door was the biggest challenge, once they got out, Nael found a professor and asked for a room for his friend who was feeling under the weather to rest in.
They had bumped into a female professor from the institute who was all too eager to help them out. As soon as the door to the spare room closed behind them, Nael picked Errol up and headed for the bed.
The spare room was a small bedroom a couple of hallways down from the ballroom. So they were still in the same building but they were far enough from the party that the noise blended into the background.
Errol stared blankly at him as he helped him take off his overcoat, waistcoat, and cravat so that he could be more comfortable, it made Nael’s palms sweaty. ’Just how much alcohol did the bastard make him drink?’
Nael took off his coat as well and looked around the room, water would really come in handy. Surprisingly, he found a mini fridge in the plain little room, reaching in to take a bottle of water.
A sound behind him made him turn around to find Errol creeping up on him. He stood up with a bottle of water in hand to help steady his boyfriend. "What are you doing?" He asked lightly to mask his panic, helping Errol back to the small bed.
Errol pouted but stumbled his way back to the bed and fell limply on it. "Coming to you, don’t leave me."
Nael smiled a little, a genuine expression. "I was getting water, want to drink?" He offered, uncapping the bottle.
Errol tilted his head upwards as an indication for Nael to feed him, he took a sip or two and then leaned back with an exaggerated expression of disgust. "Bleh, it’s warm."
Nael smiled wider. "It’s not that bad, you need to drink more water." He urged, feeling the fist around his heart slowly unclench.
Errol still looked dazed and was so flushed that Nael considered undoing some buttons on his silk shirt. He did make some effort to drink more water but this was done with more complaints and occasional spitting.
