Chapter 14: Food Secured, My Warm Little Sun

A total of five hours had passed since Aidan and Arthur had entered the Tier-10 Terrorized Dimension.

After stuffing his stomach with roughly 40,000 kilograms of crudely cooked Tier-10 food, he was finally full.

He felt stronger and more energetic than ever!

Aidan even took a nap for one hour after that while Arthur was having fun terrorizing both terrors and monsters.

For the following hours, Aidan focused on training to wield his aspects better and becoming proficient at creating techniques and spells with his arsenal of powers.

His Power Bond talent was good, but its true potential could only be bloomed when aspects gained from that talent are utilized to create custom techniques and spells.

The four hours of brainstorming and training, as well as annoying the program system by asking a million questions, helped him gain a lot of insight, and a path on how to enrich his arsenal of techniques and spells.

...

"Alright, it’s time to leave."

"Rawr?!" Arthur was taken aback. ’Really, Master?! So soon?!’

Aidan rolled his eyes. "People might come inside, and yes, it’s time. We’ve spent seven hours here. It’s morning over at the City G, and I have much stuff to do." freewebnovel.cσ๓

He had also secured a 1000 ton of food. The daily-quest was also completed.

"Okay, Master..."

"Don’t worry, I’ll find you some humans to eat." Aidan laughed. "Now, let’s go. Enter stealth and exit."

...

The duo arrived at Beatrix’s mansion first while in stealth.

Aidan had already contacted Beatrix, and she sent him a map and location of a branch of the Global Hunter Association.

[Beatrix: I’ll meet you after you finish the exam, and then we’ll go to the Blue Vortex guild. When you enter the building, head towards the reception, and tell them you want to take the C-rank Hunter Exam. The license will serve as your general ID. And make sure you register your name as Aidan Filcrow, my nephew.]

With that, Aidan put Arthur in his exotic dimension.

"Alright, buddy. Take a nap."

He sent Arthur into the Exotic Dimension connected to his Exotic Summoner talent.

And then checked the distance from here to the location.

Twenty-three kilometers...I guess I’ll have to make a cozy and fast ride myself.’

Rubbing his hands, Aidan eagerly started his craft.

First, Blood Energy serves as a structure-foundation.

Blood Threads manifested and weaved together, swiftly taking the shape of a scooter without wheels, floating a meter off the ground with Aidan’s control.

Next, Wind Energy, Spiral Flow, Blade, and Spin

Instead of wheels, Aidan used the above four aspects to create a gyroscoped horizontal spinning blade of wind and intricately attached it to the scooter.

He created the flow for wind through a flexible scooter structure to reduce air resistance, and voila.

’Might as well make it a bit proper.’

Aidan created a swirl engine using spiral flow, connected it to the two spinning wind blades, and a tank where he compressed wind energy before connecting its control to the scooter’s lever, making it realistic in the sense that it would speed up when twisting the throttle grip.

The ride was ready.

Swoosh!

A mixed streak of crimson and light cyan dragged through the sky, flying a kilometer above.

Several eyes watching over the city flagged him, but seeing that it was someone flying, the watch tower’s staff unflagged him.

Five minutes later, Aidan was right above the branch.

Without further ado, he got off the scooter and started a free fall. Silent yet swift. As he neared the ground, he came to a halt and then slowly landed.

Aidan saw two girls walking not too far as they exited the building. Upon seeing Aidan, they giggled and said something while leaving.

Aidan looked at himself.

’Damn, I’m still in oversized pajamas.’

He got an idea.

Blood threads streaked out and sewed the whole pajama, threading it, and designing it anew.

Now he had a crimson vest, a dark red long coat with ruby colored patterns, and crimson pants.

A brand-new outfit was ready.

Entering the rather big and aesthetic building through its wide transparent glass door that opened automatically, he headed straight towards the Reception Circle at the center of the hall.

A 360 degree table for any type of inquiries and helping.

Aidan looked around in curiosity and also saw posters of Dojo.

He remembered since he knew about Dojos before he had killed himself.

Dojos were basically a place where people can pay to enroll and learn the techniques or spells they have.

Since people of any talent can learn things if they work hard and practice, their combat power could grow.

’As a transcendent player, the progression structure of other people and mine is different now.’ Aidan’s eyes glinted. ’I also have to constantly inspect people.’

To find other Transcendent Players.

A transcendent player can see details of everyone, except for other Transcendent Player. So if he failed to inspect someone, that would be it.

"Hello."

Aidan arrived at the reception circle, towards one of the receptionist.

The receptionist looked up. She was a girl in her twenties, light blond-hair, and a chill vibe.

Looking up at Aidan, she was first surprised at his appearance. ’White hair and honey eyes? That’s a deadly combo on top of his physique. He looks young, maybe same age as me?’

"How may I help you, sir?"

"I want take the C-rank Hunter Exam." Aidan politely smiled. "Also, I don’t have any prior identification card, so I need to make a new one. The name is Aidan Filcrow."

"Filcrow?" the receptionist raised her eyebrows. "Are you related to White Raven in anyway?"

"Yes. Beatrix Filcrow is my aunt."

"That’s great." Receptionist smiled. "Give me a second please."

She turned around to another girl sitting behind her looking on her phone and said in a low voice. "Hey, Jada, take my place for a bit. I’m going to help that person take his C-rank Hunter Exam."

"Tsk, no thanks. I’m on a break," The other girl looked up at her with a pout before glancing at the side and seeing Aidan. Her eyes went wide.

Jada was about to stand up, but Sophia quickly left the circle table and arrived outside as she smiled at Aidan. "Come, I’ll guide you for the C-rank Exam."

"Sophia, You bitch..." Jada ground her teeth as she cursed her friend under her breath.

"My name is Sophia, by the way. Nice to meet you."

Sophia arrived before Aidan with a cheery smile.

"Nice to meet you, too. So can you fill me in about the exam?"

"Of course." Sophia chuckled and started walking. Aidan walked beside her while looking around, inspecting people.

"It’s a standard exam where you’ll have to defeat five puppets which are as strong as Tier-4 Terrors. It consists of the basic formation of one peak Tier-4 Terror, two medium-level Tier-4 Terrors, and two low-level Tier-4 Terrors." Sophia said while often glancing at him from the side.

’It looks like my beauty isn’t swaying him one bit.’ Sophia wryly smiled.

"That’s all?" Aidan turned to her and smiled. "That’ll be easy. Let’s finish it quickly."

"And then go for breakfast?" Sophia followed up with a chuckle. "Just kidding. I’m on a break now, so I’ll grab a coffee. Do you fancy one? I know a good place nearby."

Aidan blinked. ’Is she...hitting on me?’

CHEEEE!

"Urgh...." Aidan suddenly groaned in pain as he stopped walking.

Visions flashed in his eyes of the lives he lived. The girls he lived with. The pain of over uncountable lives flashed.

His breathing turned rugged. Fists clenched tightly, veins popped over his temples, and his face turning red.

Imagine living innumerable number of lives, each one different, each one absolutely despairing.

And all of it condensing into one mind. This was a recipe of madness, of chaos, of despair.

Insanity was its final form.

But here he was, all suppressed within by his will, by his regret, by his wish to live so that the sacrifice of his parents, and their wish, would go in vain.

’FUCK! FUCK YOU! I WILL NOT GIVE IN!’

"A-Are you okay?" Sophia was startled. "What happened?"

[Calm! Calm! Calm! You are not there anymore, player Aidan! It will be a disaster if you snap here!]

’Master!’ Arthur shouted upon sensing Aidan’s unstable mental state.

The visions didn’t stop flashing. It was like his mind was leaking it. And there was not a single good thing that happened to him that he could recall.

The only thing it fueled was his anger.

Suddenly, a voice entered his ears.

[Aw~ My baby...don’t be angry. You are a sweet and cheerful boy, Aidan. You know, I kept you for sixteen months in my womb because you needed more time. And when came out, you didn’t cry. Your big eyes were curious and when they looked at your haggard father who was crying because of the tough delivery, you laughed on his face.]

[The whole room was laughing in joy.]

[So, don’t be angry, Aidan. You brought joy to many people, so you also deserve to be happy.]

[Become a bundle of joy that you are, my little warm sun.]

Aidan had completely calmed down. He couldn’t see his mother. He couldn’t remember that face, but that voice...he couldn’t forget.

Taking a deep breath, he looked at Sophia’s concerned face and smiled. "Sorry for startling you. Let’s continue walking. I’m fine now."

"Phew...good if you are good." Sophia said in relief and continued walking. "We’ll be there in a minute."

’Was that you, Program system? Using my mother’s voice?’

[Yes.]

’Did make up that story of my birth?’

[No. It was the truth.]

’Thanks.’

[You’re welcome.]
