Chapter 124: Chapter 105: New Missions, Part 2

Lin Mo looked them over. One was a relatively simple E Level Task: gathering Hemostatic Grass. It was one of the ingredients for making a Basic Life Potion. The quest sheet marked a few possible locations where it could be found, none of which were far from the settlement of their last mission. The reward was 1 Gold Coin per clump, so the total would depend on how many they could find.

As for the other one...

[Slay the Crimson Flame Tiger]

Quest ID: E2283

Type: Hunt/Material Collection

Client: Madam Chacher

Reward: 60-90 Gold

Quest Briefing:

Travel to the Loran Forest Deep Forest Area and hunt a sub-adult Crimson Flame Tiger. You are required to collect its fangs, claws, and hide. The hide of the torso must be kept as intact as possible!

Note: Threat Level 2+!

"This quest... the difficulty is a bit high..."

Rick, standing to the side, frowned deeply.

"Indeed."

Alton also nodded, but he didn’t make the decision. Instead, he turned his gaze to Lin Mo.

It was obvious that although he was the captain, Lin Mo was now the team’s backbone.

Lin Mo fell into deep thought.

’Threat Level 2+. That means even a sub-adult Crimson Flame Tiger’s strength is already above Level 2!’

This matched the description in the *Common Monsters of the Deep Forest Area of Loran’s Forest* atlas he had bought yesterday. Even within the Deep Forest Area of Loran Forest, the Crimson Flame Tiger was practically a king. An adult Crimson Flame Tiger had almost no rivals in the Deep Forest Area.

’Before Feney joined, I would never have considered taking on such a risky quest, no matter how high the reward was.’

’But with Feney on the team, the rewards are doubled, which means a terrifying income of 120-180 Gold Coins. Besides, even if something unexpected happens, the people secretly protecting Feney will be there as a safety net.’

’And if everything goes smoothly, if it’s just a Level 2 or slightly stronger—even a Level 2.5—Crimson Flame Tiger, I’m confident I can take it on.’

’Because during this adventure, I’m certain to officially advance to a Level 2 Warrior.’

’If I don’t even dare to try in a situation like this, what kind of Adventurer would I be?’

"We’ll take it!"

And so, he made up his mind and finalized the decision to accept the quest.

"Alright."

Seeing that he had made a decision, Alton didn’t hesitate and simply nodded.

Lin Mo took the three quest sheets to Lena’s counter and accepted the missions.

When the Little Cat Girl saw the last quest, her face filled with worry. She even asked if he had taken it by mistake, looking utterly adorable with her furrowed brow.

"Don’t worry, we’ll be fine."

Lin Mo ruffled her beret and said reassuringly.

"Sir, you shouldn’t be disturbing an Association employee during work hours, should you?"

A nearby colleague, not understanding the situation, thought Lena was dealing with a troublesome Adventurer and stepped in to help.

"It’s not like that, Sister Sharan, we know each other..."

After Lena explained, the receptionist’s expression shifted to one of understanding, but the way she looked at Lin Mo became a little strange.

’Human tastes certainly are... unrestricted.’

After saying goodbye to Lena, the group left the Association and officially embarked on their adventure.

Although they hadn’t entered Loran Forest yet, the party practiced their formation in advance.

Lin Mo, the strongest, moved to the very front. Carson was in charge of scouting, Rick and Ali were positioned on the left and right, and the experienced Alton brought up the rear to guard against any potential dangers from behind.

The Ranger, Solan, and the Priest, Feney, naturally stood in the middle of the formation, as they were the ones who needed protection.

Along the way, everyone was talking and laughing, teasing Solan about Bena. This left Solan feeling both smug and embarrassed, while Alton, off to the side, nearly blew a gasket.

The lighthearted atmosphere helped Feney, who was on her first adventure, ease a lot of her nervousness.

This relaxed mood continued until they reached the edge of Loran Forest.

The moment they stepped into Loran Forest, the party members who had just been laughing and joking around immediately turned serious. The sudden, silent atmosphere was a bit unsettling for Feney.

However, she quickly tightened her grip on her staff and became serious as well.

Becoming an Adventurer wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision for Feney, nor was she some naive young lady looking to "experience life." Before this, she had already done a great deal of research, read many Adventurers’ biographies, and clearly understood the various hardships and dangers one might encounter on the road.

She was prepared!

"In terms of priority, the first thing we should handle is the Goblin Settlement quest... Coincidentally, it’s also the closest one."

Lin Mo held the quest sheet, which had a simple location marked on it.

However, compared to the Goblin Settlement he had dealt with two days ago, Settlement #69, the one they had just accepted, was located in the Deep Forest Area. It was quite a distance away, and they probably wouldn’t make it there this morning.

Fortunately, the journey wouldn’t be boring. Aside from the various poisonous insects and snakes one was bound to see in a forest, some Low Level Demons also appeared one after another.

Lin Mo gave his teammates a heads-up; these weak Demons were perfect for practicing his Magic.

A Goblin clutched its chest as blood gushed out, letting out a desperate wail before an Ice Cone pierced its throat.

[Ice Cone Skill] Skill Level +1!

That was the sixth one.

Lin Mo glanced at his Skill Level panel. The accumulated Skill Level was just enough to raise his Ice Cone Skill to Level 2.

"Skill [Ice Cone Skill] Level 1 (10/10) Upgrade!"

"Current Skill: [Ice Cone Skill] Level 2 (0/20)"

’I wonder if a Level 2 Ice Cone Skill is enough to one-shot a Goblin?’

’My previous Level 2 Fireball Technique couldn’t do it, but considering my Magic Power increased by 1 after Fireball Technique reached Level 3, maybe things will be different now.’
