Chapter 123: Chapter 105: A New Mission

Since they hadn’t chosen a quest yesterday, the first thing to do today was to pick one for their trip.

Unlike before, the Bull Run Squad had now undergone a complete transformation.

First was the improvement in Lin Mo’s strength. His current level was nearly that of a Level 2 Professional, perhaps even stronger than an average Level Two Professional. Although his Magic wasn’t very useful for now, it could occasionally produce some miraculous effects.

Beyond that, there was Ali’s promotion. After officially becoming a Professional, Ali’s strength was also quite formidable. Although she had only recently been promoted, even Alton, who had been a Professional for many years, was no longer her match.

The power of the Ice Wolf Race bloodline was truly potent. As a Warrior, Ali’s attacks possessed certain magical properties. These not only enhanced their power but could also affect her opponents’ movements to some extent. Her innate Strength and physique also put her Attributes above those of an average new Professional, meaning she had reached the standard of at least a Level 1.3 Professional.

Then, there was Feney, the newest member who had just joined yesterday.

Feney’s addition was another major factor in the squad’s increased strength.

She was a Professional-level Priest!

Back in Roland Town, Lin Mo had previously received Healing from Non-Professional Priests. The stacked effects of several sessions had been quite decent, but they were just novices who had recently learned the Healing Technique. Feney, a Professional-level Priest, was immeasurably stronger than them.

It was no exaggeration to say that with Feney around, as long as she had Magic Power, it was like they were carrying an infinite supply of Basic Life Potions!

And they didn’t even have to drink them manually; they could be healed at any time during a battle.

This was the power of the Priest Profession, which was sometimes even more crucial than a Mage.

But at the same time, powerful Priests were also rarer than Mages.

Both Professions required an innate talent for Magic Power. Unlike the prohibitively expensive Mage Profession, becoming a Priest cost significantly less. With the Church providing support, many people with magical talent but no money chose to become Priests. As a result, low-level Priests were not rare, and there were many even in Roland Town.

But these Priests’ healing abilities were quite limited. They didn’t have much Magic Power and were extremely Fragile, making them completely unsuitable for adventuring. Thus, most of them were stationed at the Church year-round, choosing to live peaceful lives.

However, advancing further on the path of a Priest was considerably more difficult.

First, it required a very high Affinity for the Light Element or Water Element, which were known as Healing Elements. It also placed extremely high demands on one’s talent for Magic Power and even one’s temperament.

Healing Magic was harder to practice and slower to improve than Attack and Defense Magic. Furthermore, without a pious, kind, and pure heart, one’s practice would be twice as hard for half the result.

Therefore, Priests at the Professional Level and above were several times rarer than Mages.

Any squad with a Professional Priest was typically a renowned, high-tier team from one of the nearby cities. Such squads had to have at least one Senior Level Professional, plus several other Professionals at Level 3 and above.

But the quests these squads took on were also more dangerous, with too many uncontrollable factors. That was why Feney’s mother had chosen to let her join the more Ordinary, but safer, Bull Run Squad, whose members were deemed relatively trustworthy.

"Over here, over here—"

Solan seemed to be in a great mood today. Just as Lin Mo and Ali stepped through the doors of the Association, they saw him waving at them from a distance.

"Why are you so happy today?"

Lin Mo walked over with Ali and asked teasingly.

"Hehe..."

Solan didn’t say anything, just scratching his head and giggling foolishly.

Alton, who was standing to the side, snorted, his expression somewhat reluctant.

"This kid went on his first date with Bena yesterday."

Rick, who was also nearby, revealed the truth, and everyone burst into laughter.

Feney sat quietly to the side with a gentle smile on her lips, not yet fully able to blend in with the squad.

"Alright, everyone’s here. Let’s look at the quests first..."

He placed a stack of quest sheets in front of Lin Mo. "We got here pretty early and took a quick look. These are all potential candidates."

Lin Mo picked them up and looked through a few. They were indeed quests well-suited for their squad. Alton, having knocked around in the Adventurer business for many years, was very experienced in this regard.

"I think we can take this quest."

Lin Mo placed a quest sheet in the middle of the table.

[Clear Out the Goblin Settlement]

Quest ID: E4566

Type: Cleanup

Client: Adventurer’s Association

Reward: 18 gold coins + an additional 3 silver coins per Goblin, and an additional 1 gold coin per Mutated Goblin.

Quest Briefing:

A small-to-medium-sized Goblin Settlement, designated Number 69, has been discovered in Loran Forest. Adventurers are needed to clear it out.

Note: A Mutated Goblin with a Threat Level of 1.5 or higher is suspected to be present. Please accept with caution.

Lin Mo had done a similar quest before. That one was designated Number 63, and in just a few days, they were already up to Number 69. It seemed the Goblin infestation near Silver Stream City was also quite severe.

And compared to the "small" settlement from his previous quest, this Goblin Settlement was "small-to-medium." Both the difficulty and the reward were higher, and the quest description also noted the risk.

Alton glanced at it and nodded immediately. "I agree, this quest is good. Let’s lock this one in."

He took the remaining quest sheets from Lin Mo’s hand and picked out two more. "The settlements for these two quests aren’t far from the last one. We can consider taking all of them at once."
