Chapter 111: Chapter 98: Am I Not a Genius?

’Lin Mo must admire a strong woman like that, right? Besides, they’re the same kind, unlike me...’

It was a strange feeling. Even Ali herself felt all twisted up inside, but she couldn’t stop herself from thinking that way.

"Oh, I just asked her a few things about Magic."

Lin Mo’s mind was preoccupied with the Magic Circuit, so he answered straightforwardly, not noticing Ali’s expression.

’Magic?’

Lena paused for a moment. "Isn’t Mr. Lin Mo a Warrior?"

She remembered the sparring match between Lin Mo and Mr. Alton at the Association. His fighting style was clearly that of a Warrior.

"I’m also an Assassin and a Knight, and now a Mage, too~"

Lin Mo replied in a joking tone.

Just as he finished speaking, his expression suddenly turned serious, and a flash of excitement appeared in his eyes.

’They’re finally here?’

The carriage halted. From the dense woods ahead, several wicked, little green-skinned figures scurried out.

’These pest-like creatures, you really see them everywhere.’

Lin Mo stretched his limbs and said to Ali, who was about to stand up, "You two don’t need to move. Just leave it to me."

With that, he leaped straight from the carriage, eagerly walking up to the Goblins.

Seeing that only one human had disembarked, the Goblins, confident in their numbers, immediately let out triumphant cackles. One of them swung its Wolf Fang Club and charged at Lin Mo.

Lin Mo couldn’t even be bothered to draw his Sword. He casually blocked the blow, and the Wolf Fang Club struck his arm. He didn’t even feel a trace of pain; it was like a massage.

’It’s not even as strong as the Dwarf auntie at the massage parlor...’

In about two or three seconds, Lin Mo conjured his Magic. Compared to last night when he hadn’t yet formally learned it, his Fireball Technique was clearly different. Not only was its casting speed a bit faster, but it was no longer just the size of a ping-pong ball; it had upgraded to the size of a baby’s palm.

"WHOOSH—"

Under Lin Mo’s control, the Fireball flew from his hand and smashed into the Goblin that had just attacked him.

Caught completely off guard, the Fireball hit it square in the face, instantly charring its greasy Green face black.

The Goblin shrieked and rolled on the ground in agony.

"Sorry about that. I’m not very skilled yet, so I didn’t send you on your way in one hit."

Lin Mo gave a "bashful" smile, then immediately fired another shot to correct his mistake.

[Fireball Technique] Skill Level +1

The prompt that appeared before him invigorated Lin Mo’s Spirit, and he immediately continued to cast the Fireball Technique.

After the second Goblin was also killed by the Fireball Technique, the remaining two finally realized something was wrong and tried to turn and flee.

How could Lin Mo let the easy Skill Level points get away? He immediately rushed forward, restrained them all, and sent them on their way with the Fireball Technique, one by one.

A total of four Goblins, which added 4 points to his Skill Level.

Lin Mo returned to the carriage. Looking at the progress on his Skill Level panel, which now read 4/10, he felt the satisfying thrill of starting a New Game Plus and grinding levels all over again.

Inside the carriage, Lena and Ali looked at each other, their eyes wide with shock.

’Okay, so at least what he said earlier wasn’t an excuse. He really did go learn Magic last night...’

For the rest of the journey, Lin Mo eagerly anticipated the appearance of more Goblins. His use of the [Fireball Technique] grew more and more proficient. Unfortunately, because his Magic Power was too low—only 1 point—a single Fireball still had difficulty killing a Goblin outright.

To conserve Magic Power, Lin Mo eventually just started beating the Goblins half to death with his fists before using the [Fireball Technique] to deliver the finishing blow.

After half a morning of this, the [Fireball Technique]’s Skill Level finally reached (10/10), triggering its first upgrade.
