Chapter 471: Chapter 464: If Anything, I’m the One Who Got Her Frightened

But Autumn Shelby acted as if she hadn’t heard Miles Quinn’s pointed remark. With tears welling in her eyes, she gazed at Seth Quinn, looking as if her heart was aching for him.

Seth Quinn, however, didn’t spare her so much as a sidelong glance. Aside from looking at Sienna Hale and Theodore Quinn a few times, his eyes remained fixed on Clara Grant.

Sienna Hale, however, was quite displeased with her younger son’s remark. She frowned and said angrily, "Miles, what is that supposed to mean? Even if someone told us, how is that being nosy? That person sympathized with us, with parents who love and worry about their son! Unlike you all!"

As she spoke, her eyes swept over her younger and older sons before landing on Clara Grant. She shot Clara an irritated glare and then continued, "You’re nothing but trouble! Always doing things to make us worry!"

Clara Grant lifted her head again, her eyes meeting Sienna Hale’s furious gaze. She bit her lip and suddenly spoke. "Ma’am, Sir... I’m sorry. It’s all my fault. I dragged Seth into this."

"So you do know it’s your fault? For a woman of... your background, marrying our Seth was the greatest blessing you could have asked for. You should have stayed home and kept quiet, but no, you had to run off and become an actress. Fine, be an actress, but then you go and cause trouble. Fine, cause trouble, but then you drag Seth into it! You..."

By the end, Sienna Hale seemed too furious to speak. With a frustrated sigh, she exclaimed, "What am I supposed to say to you?!"

Clara Grant kept her head down, taking in her mother-in-law’s "scolding." Perhaps because she had already slipped into the role of Sienna Hale’s daughter-in-law, she didn’t register that Sienna had said "marrying our Seth."

Seth Quinn, however, flinched when he heard his mother carelessly blurt out the word "marrying." He shifted in a panic, pulling at his wound and letting out a low cry of pain.

"Seth, are you okay? Did you aggravate your injury?" Hearing her son’s cry of pain, Sienna Hale forgot all about scolding Clara Grant and rushed to bend over Seth.

Clara Grant also started towards him anxiously, saying, "Seth, are you..."

Before she could finish her sentence, she was shoved aside by Autumn Shelby, who had also lunged forward.

Autumn Shelby had charged over with surprising force. Clara stumbled back two steps from the impact, and only regained her balance when someone caught her arm to steady her.

She looked up to see that it was Theodore Quinn who had caught her. She quickly straightened up, lowered her eyes, and thanked him softly, "Thank you... Sir."

Theodore Quinn glanced at Clara Grant, who had been walking on eggshells ever since they arrived. He said nothing, only offering a slight nod.

Clara Grant looked toward Seth’s bed. Autumn Shelby seemed completely oblivious to having shoved her aside, not even sparing her a backward glance. Her eyes were fixed on Seth, and she asked in a tone dripping with concern and anxiety:

"Seth, are you okay? You’re injured, why are you getting so agitated? Is anything more important than your body? When you’re like this... it makes me—us—all of us who care about you, so worried and heartbroken. Do you have any idea?"

For the first time since Autumn had entered, Seth’s gaze finally fell upon her, but only for a fleeting moment. He then looked to Sienna Hale and said:

"Mom, you’ve misunderstood. Clara didn’t get me into trouble. The prop gun on set malfunctioned. I’m the boss, so any problem on set is ultimately connected to me. If we’re talking about dragging someone into this, it’s me who dragged her into it and gave her a scare."
