Chapter 651: Belated Truth

No matter how unwilling Tian Fang was and wanting to leave directly, the room door was closed. Xu Mumu saw her making a fuss and simply gave her a palm, knocking her out instantly, and the room fell silent again.

Within a few minutes, someone came to the room and took Tian Fang away.

Having taken Tian Fang away, Xu Jiaojiao felt quite upset inside: "Big sister, why did cousin have to do this? Why is she so bad?"

"Alright, don’t be upset. It doesn’t matter, we just need to be good ourselves." Xu Mumu pinched Xu Jiaojiao’s cheek.

No matter the reason Tian Fang had for doing this, she wasn’t prepared to forgive her, and the matter was left to Yin Yang to handle.

In the evening, the two little girls hid in the room and talked about this incident, both still finding it hard to accept.

Early the next morning, Xu Minghui came over. He already knew about the matter, Yin Yang told him about it last night. He didn’t expect Tian Fang to have such boldness.

"Mumu, this is for you, mom asked me to give it to you. It’s the protective talisman you always had when you were a child." Xu Minghui handed a small embroidered pouch to Xu Mumu. When he returned here, his mother specifically instructed that this was for Xu Mumu.

Xu Mumu took the embroidered pouch, vaguely remembering she had it, though the memory was somewhat blurred. Holding the pouch brought the memory back.

"This pouch is really pretty." Xu Mumu accepted it and opened it up. Inside the pouch, there was a Jade Pendant, but the quality of the jade was quite poor. Besides the Jade Pendant, there was also a piece of paper, which Xu Mumu opened.

Looking at what was written on the paper, Xu Mumu’s eyes were filled with shock and astonishment.

"This pouch is really interesting. Mom and I couldn’t open it, but sister took it and opened it easily." Xu Minghui sighed, conceding belief in the talent of the old blind man.

"None of you could open this pouch?" Xu Mumu was thoughtful.

"Yup, not only couldn’t we open it, but the pouch was always intact - it couldn’t be broken, stained, or even wet in water. It was very magical." Xu Minghui elaborated seriously.

Xu Mumu finished reading the thin sheet of letter paper, and the moment she finished, the paper suddenly ignited. Xu Mumu hadn’t even reacted before the paper burned out completely in her hand, without burning her at all.

"Wife, are you okay?" Yin Yang looked at Xu Mumu worriedly, lifting her hand to examine it carefully, concerned about any possible injuries to his little wife.

"I’m fine, just a bit hard to accept." Xu Mumu shook her head, looking at the ashes swept in by the wind and dispersing in the air, feeling very complicated.

"What was written on the paper?" Yin Yang asked gently, still curious.

"I’ll tell you later." Xu Mumu shook her head, indicating that it wasn’t the right time to talk, and she needed time to digest what was written.

"Alright then." Yin Yang nodded, understanding his wife’s intentions.

"Big brother, I intend to send Tian Fang to prison, hope you won’t stop me then." Yin Yang looked at Xu Minghui.

"Don’t worry, we certainly won’t. Tian Fang has crooked thoughts and is reaping the consequences. Fortunately, it didn’t cause serious trouble." Xu Minghui shook his head. Although he also wanted to know what was written on the paper, seeing his sister’s demeanor, he knew she didn’t want to elaborate.

Even though she was willing to speak to Yin Yang about these matters, Xu Minghui felt a bit jealous inside. Sigh, his sister had gotten married and was no longer the little girl who wholeheartedly relied on her brother.

After sending off Xu Minghui, Xu Wan and the others also prepared to leave, and Yin Yang arranged for someone to take them back.

Professor Song and the others also took Doudou to study, and Xu Mumu, holding the Jade Pendant and pouch, returned to the room with Yin Yang.

"Wife, what’s wrong? You look dazed." Yin Yang worriedly looked at his little wife.

"I’m fine. You know, I had this Jade Pendant in my past life too, only that Jade Pendant was high-quality, left by my parents. I didn’t expect to see this Jade Pendant here again." Xu Mumu slowly recounted these matters.

The Jade Pendant was a protective talisman left by the old blind man for the original owner, but what was written on the paper surprised Xu Mumu the most. The old blind man had already predicted that Xu Mumu would receive this pouch, which he deliberately left for her.

The paper stated that she and Xu Mumu of this world were originally one person, only a mishap caused part of her soul to drift to another world, while the remaining soul stayed here. Because the soul was incomplete, her health had been poor since childhood, occasionally behaving extremely.

Her crossing over to this world wasn’t coincidental as their souls attracted each other, and with the help of the Jade Pendant, it allowed her to reunite with her own soul.

Yin Yang listened in disbelief, this was an unheard-of story, hard to imagine it was real.

Xu Mumu picked up the Jade Pendant, trying to see if there were any special aspects, even cutting a small wound on her finger to drip blood on it, but there was no reaction of recognition.

Xu Mumu’s lips twitched, a consequence of reading too many novels.

"Wife, why are you doing this? Hurting yourself like this?" Yin Yang was completely bewildered by his little wife’s actions.

Xu Mumu sheepishly admitted her habit from reading novels of such tropes, leaving Yin Yang bewilderingly amused.

"Next time, don’t do this. Don’t do anything that hurts yourself." Yin Yang stated earnestly.

"Alright, alright, I understand." Xu Mumu nodded, wiping the blood off the Jade Pendant, and then hanging it back around her neck.

Since this Jade Pendant followed her here, it could serve as a keepsake.

"No wonder I felt no sense of rejection towards the family. It turns out they were my closest people all along." Xu Mumu exclaimed emotionally.

Though that old blind man was truly formidable, sadly he had passed away. Xu Mumu felt regret; had he not died, she would’ve wanted to visit and find out what was really going on. Though a few mysteries still troubled her now, she had completely accepted them.

This matter remained between the couple, a secret they likely wouldn’t mention to anyone else.

The Jade Pendant stayed with Xu Mumu, and the letter paper had been burned. Holding the exquisite pouch, Xu Mumu stored it in her small box, which contained her various achievements over the years.

"If Mom and the others inquire about this, how do you intend to explain it to them?" Yin Yang asked his little wife.

"I’d just find an excuse to brush it off. I don’t want him to know about past life matters." Xu Mumu seriously replied.
