Chapter 650: Trouble with the Water

More than three hours, didn’t even come back for lunch, I wonder what she’s up to, Xu Mumu curiously thought, maybe sneaking off to meet the person she’s been in contact with?

Xu Mumu couldn’t be bothered to think more about it, sipping the freshly squeezed juice made by Madam Chun, enjoying it thoroughly, it tasted really good.

"Madam Chun, I want more," the little one’s soft voice piped up.

"Alright, alright, there’s plenty," Madam Chun, who dotes on children, replied. Her husband died early, and she didn’t have any children of her own, so she stayed on as a cook for the Yin Family, where the treatment was quite favorable, so she continued to stay with the Yin Family.

Knowing Xu Mumu was pregnant and needed someone to take care of her, she followed them here. She watched Doudou grow up bit by bit and already cared for him as if he were her own grandson.

"Madam Chun, don’t let him eat too much, we don’t want him to upset his stomach," Xu Mumu reminded while drinking her juice.

While Xu Mumu was at home, she unexpectedly received a call from Du Yu, asking her to go to the factory in a few days to discuss company matters.

Xu Mumu agreed, chatted a bit more, and then ended the call.

"Du Yu is managing a company now, that’s impressive. I won’t graduate until next year, and then I can start earning money too," Xu Jiaojiao said enviously.

"What’s there to be envious about? Du Yu is lost in work every day. Once you’re out there, you’ll know, making money isn’t that easy, and adulthood is not as simple as you think," Xu Mumu said with a smile.

"But I like it, being able to earn my own money. When I grow up, my parents won’t have to control me as much," Xu Jiaojiao said longingly.

"You’ll miss your childhood eventually," Xu Mumu smiled wryly, not saying more.

Nevertheless, Xu Jiaojiao and her group’s grades were all very good, finding a decent job should be easy, and now jobs are also being assigned, Xu Mumu believed they had enough ability to climb up.

As for Xu Wan, she planned to pursue further studies and become a university teacher.

Xu Mumu was slightly surprised but thought that Xu Wan’s gentle nature and patience might make teaching a good career choice for her.

Yin Yang came back relatively early, and when he did, Xu Mumu was chatting with her two sisters.

"What kept you busy today?" Xu Mumu curiously asked.

"There was a bit of work piled up at the company over the past few days, so I went to handle it today. It’s better to take care of it now, so when the official work starts in a few days, it won’t be as busy," Yin Yang said gently.

"By the way, where’s your cousin?" Not seeing Tian Fang, Yin Yang asked.

"Madam Chun said she went out, she left shortly after you did."

"No need to worry about her, have Yun Hong take her back tomorrow," Yin Yang said calmly.

"Spent most of the day outside, are you tired?"

"Yes, I walked a lot today. Doudou had a bite to eat and is asleep now," Xu Mumu said with a smile.

"Let him sleep well," Yin Yang nodded, then started massaging his wife’s shoulders, a skill he had learned specially. Seeing how much his wife enjoyed it, he felt a great sense of accomplishment.

"What do you think Tian Fang is really up to?" Xu Mumu, enjoying the massage, asked curiously.

"What else could it be? Someone promised her big rewards to deal with me, but her methods are quite poor," Yin Yang said with a smile.

"Then let her leave soon, just watching her is annoying," Xu Mumu pursed her lips, not liking this cousin at all; Tian Fang’s ghostly appearance was far less pleasing than Su Xiu.

Now even Su Xiu wasn’t engaging in glaring matches with her; Su Xiu’s children were well-behaved and taught well.

When Tian Fang came back, Xu Mumu had just finished changing the little one’s clothes. Tian Fang was carrying a glass of water over to Yin Yang.

The little one frowned, "Daddy, the water smells bad, don’t drink it." He immediately jumped into his father’s arms.

"Alright, I won’t drink," Yin Yang picked up his son. He wasn’t planning to drink it anyway; with how eager the woman was, it was hard to believe she wasn’t up to something bad.

Moreover, their son’s nose was very sensitive, and he could smell anything suspicious, surely there were odd things added to the water.

Xu Mumu gave Tian Fang a sharp look, this person’s courage was indeed big, daring to try such tricks at her house.

Swept by Xu Mumu’s gaze, Tian Fang felt a twinge of guilt but immediately steadied herself, "Cousin, your Doudou is too unruly, I kindly brought a glass of water for your husband, and he said such things, isn’t that hurtful to this cousin’s heart."

"Whether my son is unruly isn’t for an outsider to say, Madam Chun, take this glass of water away and have it tested," Yin Yang said with a cold laugh. His son didn’t need an outsider’s judgment; his son was well-behaved.

"No way," Tian Fang poured the water into a nearby flower pot.

Xu Jiaojiao and Xu Wan’s faces changed; Tian Fang’s actions clearly indicated there was something wrong with the water.

"Cousin, what’s the meaning of this?" Xu Jiaojiao’s anger flared, thinking she should not have brought Tian Fang along, did she find it distressing not to stir up trouble?

"What meaning? I just wanted to pour a glass of water for my brother-in-law, and you didn’t care for him when he came back, cousin," Tian Fang quickly changed the subject.

"How do you know I don’t care for him?" Xu Mumu said with a cold smile.

"Wife, don’t listen to her nonsense, dealing with people like this isn’t worth it. I’ll have someone take her away later for a thorough interrogation," Yin Yang said calmly. If she wasn’t Xu Mumu’s cousin, he wouldn’t have tolerated her for so long. Now that she had made a move, he wasn’t about to be polite.

"Alright," Xu Mumu nodded.

Yin Yang picked up the phone and made a call; a bad premonition suddenly arose in Tian Fang’s mind. She knew that even in this new era, some people had enormous power.

"What are you going to do?" Tian Fang asked, somewhat frightened.

"Naturally, gather evidence of your harm and send it to the police station. Intentionally harming others, even if unsuccessful, deserves several years of sentencing, all the evidence is still here," Yin Yang said with a smile, glancing at the flower pot.

"No, you can’t, we’re relatives," Tian Fang was truly scared; she didn’t want to go to jail, if she did, everything would be over.

"It’s not up to you, cousin," Xu Mumu said with a smile.

"Cousin, you brought this on yourself, you deserve it," Xu Jiaojiao said mercilessly in ridicule, she truly didn’t expect her to actually dare drug her brother-in-law.
