Chapter 724: Chapter 724: Lack Of Inspiration
"Could you leave me now? It is hot."
Stuart never understood other’s feelings.
"..."
Aaron was so sad just now. After it was the last time, he saw Stuart. He was about to leave Stuart. Besides, he just took over the job. He has lots of work to do. He didn’t even know when he could see Stuart again. He had a lot to tell Stuart. But he didn’t expect that Stuart said these words. He hurt Aaron’s feelings so much.
"Hot? What if Edie hugs you? Don’t you feel hot?"
"If she hugs me, she could hug me no matter when she wants. I would not say a word."
Stuart answered seriously.
This was the difference between wife and brother.
Stuart was such a slave of his wife.
Hearing his answer, Aaron didn’t know what to say. Finally, he took his hands back and ended the hug. At the moment, Stuart suddenly padded on his shoulder and said word by word, "I’ve given you the group and the whole family. You can give up on winning. But never lose anything."
Hearing these words, Aaron was moved slightly.
That cynical smile disappeared from the corner of his mouth. He said seriously, "Don’t worry about me. Though I am not as good as you, I am also one of the Yates. I’ve also been trained as a businessman. I might be as good as you in the field of business."
"Great. Brittany is our only sister. Promise me to take good care of her."
"I’ve heard that she is dating Norman. Nobody dares to bully anyone in the Yates. I would keep an eye on her. Don’t worry. I am here. I would visit you when I am free."
"Okay. Keep an eye on her. I trust you."
Stuart squinted. Apparently, he wanted revenge on Norman.
Edie left him five years ago because of Norman. Now Norman dared to chase after Brittany. He dared to seek after his own sister. This was such a great opportunity. He would never let him go.
Apparently, Norman would be confronted with lots of difficulties before getting married to Brittany.
This time, more people came back to A with the couple. The little house Edie bought before was no longer big enough for them.
When she arrived, Scarlet immediately called her for dinner.
It was in winter. They decided to enjoy a hot pot.
Scarlet didn’t order any wine. Instead, she ordered two bottles of drinks. Seeing this, Edie was a little surprised.
"Don’t you drink bow? I never heard that you’d quit it."
Scarlet has already been transferred from the entertainment column to the travel column. She had been the chief editor now. The wine tasting column she opened recently has got high popularity among its audiences. Even those of France’s famous wineries have offered to invite her to work together. Obviously, her career was thriving.
Why would a wine writer stop drinking wine?
"I never quit the wine. But I drink less now. I think Stuart might be angry with you if you drink wine with me. So I decide to order juices. You should appreciate my kindness and consideration."
"Okay. I know you are the best. How’s your job? Are you still so busy now?"
"Lack of inspiration. I am so anxious. So I need to relax."
She shook her head casually. In the heat steaming up from the hot pot, her gorgeous face was reddened.
After five years, Scarlet looked more beautiful. She looked more confident and charming.
However, when she looked away, Edie noticed the loneliness hidden deeply in her eyes.
Edie suddenly reminded Jason. Stuart told her that Jason was on vocation. He said he was on an endless vacation. Jason didn’t want to contact anyone. It seemed that he was on vacation all the time recently.
"What’s your plan?" Edie knew inspiration would not come into mind so easily. It was really difficult.
"I don’t know. I want to do anything. All I want now is to stay at home, waiting to die. I used to want something in my career. But now...I suddenly realized I want nothing. I have nothing to fight for now."
Scarlet took a sip of juice and said in an indifferent voice. Edie noticed the sadness on her face.
"What did you fight for before?"
Hearing this question, Scarlet fell into silence for a while.
"When my parents divorced when I was a little girl, I tried all means to get them back together. But they divorced at the end. I lived with my grandmother. But my grandmother passed away soon. And my parents never looked for me. My mother got married to a good man. He was quite rich. And he had a son. My mother got a lot of money from him. She gave me enough money to live life. Then I grow up."
"Actually, I don’t have any family. I am like a jinx for them. No one likes me. I want to have a family, but I never have one. I am not like this before. I don’t like the drink, making up or have a bad temper. But one thing changed me totally."
Scarlet said in a hoarse and low voice. Tears oozed out from the corner of her eyes.
When hearing these words, Edie was shocked.
Scarlet never told her these words before.
Everyone has his or her secret. Edie never told anyone about her mother and her relations with the Greg’s.
Scarlet also had her own secret.
"What happened?"Edie asked her carefully. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Edie, would...would a man fall in love with a woman that could not give birth to a baby?"
"What?"
Hearing this, Edie stared at her shockingly. What did she mean? Was she talking about herself?
Was Scarlet not able to give birth?
Was this the real reason why she refused Jason all the time?
As she wanted to ask more about this, Scarlet changed the topic.
"Whatever. I want to drink some beer now. It is so hot. I can drink alone. You don’t have to drink with me."
Then, Scarlet turned around, leaving Edie no chance to ask her more.
When Scarlet returned back, she looked happy again. It seemed that she already forgot what she said just now. She started talking about Edie’s life in those five years.
Edie started recalling those things happening in those five years. There was so much to talk about her life that she also forgot Scarlet’s problem.
Edie never forgot her interference with Scarlet’s relationship with Jason made Scarlet so angry.
They were best friends. Though they still needed their own space. Scarlet would tell her one day if she wanted. freёweɓnovel.com
After dinner, they went back home. Scarlet drank some beer, so she called a driver to drive her back home.
Edie was waiting for Stuart to pick her up.
"Edie, take care. Bye."
"Okay. When you want to talk to someone, I am here all the time."
Edie said in a low voice. When hearing these words, Scarlet trembled slightly. The smile on her face scattered all of a sudden. Apparently, she didn’t expect this.
Scarlet lowered her eyes for a while and then showed a bright smile towards Edie, "Okay. I would. I need to go now. Bye."
The driver drove her directly to a beef noodle restaurant near to her residential zone.
When she walked into the restaurant, the boss immediately recognized her.
"Long time no see, Miss Yvette. Are you alone today?"
"Yes. I want a large bowl of noodles."
She said in an indifferent voice and walked into the corner. It was the place for her and Jason before. They always sat there when coming to this restaurant.
After Jason left, she never dared to come here again. She didn’t dare to drink. She was afraid that she would come back here when she got drunk.
She was drunk today. She felt so awful.
