Chapter 311: Chapter 311: Do You Recognize The Name?

The time passed quickly, and almost before they knew it, the car was filled with luggage. Edie intended to go alone, but Stuart insisted on going with her. "Stuart, I know how busy you are! I’m a big girl. I can go alone!"

Stuart was insistent. "No! And that’s final! I’m going with you," he said with a note of determination in his voice.

Stuart looks into her eyes, knowing that he is going to miss her. Edie tries to hide her feelings that she is going to miss him too. Edie’s worked on films longer than this one. Therefore, it wasn’t unusual for her to be away for two to three months at a time, but this time it was different. She was reluctant to go.

"Since I only have a small role in the drama, I’ll be staying in a hotel nearby the filming site," Edie sighed, sounding almost a little frustrated. She took a deep breath and looked at Stuart.

"No, you will not! I booked a presidential suite for you. It’s at one of the five-star hotels by the filming spot. My wife will only have the best!" Stuart smiled when he saw the expression on Edie’s face change.

"I should have known. You’re always one step ahead of me!" Edie said. Stuart always took care of everything for her.

"You will be staying at the same hotel as Dolly Will. Do you recognize the name?" he asked.

"Yes! She is only one of the famous actresses in the entertainment circle," she answered. "I’m a little nervous that I’ll be staying in the same hotel as her. What if she doesn’t like me?"

"What’s not like you?" Stuart asked. "You’re talking silly! Everyone who meets you for the first time adores you. The same way that I do. It was love at first sight for me!"

Edie looked away, and Stuart was stunned to see a warm sweep of color brush over her cheeks. She reached for the remaining luggage to take out to the car. Stuart took her in his arms and kissed her. "What are you doing?...." Leaving the rest of her sentence unfinished, he kissed her once more. "I have to go!" Feeling his hands grip, she gently pushed him away.

"You’re not taking that out. We have people to do that!" Stuart exclaimed. He glanced at Ivan, and Ivan took the luggage out to the car. Stuart’s hand turned her head to face him, gazing deep into her eyes. "Call me if there are any problems."

"I will! I promise!" Edie nodded her head in agreement.

"Don’t push yourself and work too hard. If you get tired, take a break! If the directors give you a hard time. Call me, and I’ll take care of it!" he said in a low loving, and caring voice.

"Okay, but I’m sure everything will be fine." Edie agreed, but not willingly.

"Call me every day when you’re finished for the day and....." Stuart ordered.

Edie waved her hands in the air. "I know what you’re going to say! You’ve already told me several times already!" Edie said disapprovingly.

Stuart kissed her lightly on the forehead and was about to speak. Ivan walked in and spoke softly, "Mr. Yates, I just got a call from the office. There’s an issue with one of the board of directors, and they need you to come in. It’s urgent!"

A frown touched Stuart’s brow, "They can wait! This is more important."

"Stuart!" Edie said sternly. "Your work is also important. I’ll be fine. It’s okay, and you need to go."

Stuart was reluctant to leave Edie, but the situation was urgent. "Okay! Call me tonight!" Stuart gave Edie a kiss on the cheek and left. freeweɓnøvel.com

After Edie arrived at the site, she was informed there was a start-up dinner party. It was only a small party for the actors and actresses of the film. Malloy wanted everyone to get to know each other to help facilitate filming. He reserved a restaurant close to the shooting spot.

Edie walked in and looked around. Immediately, she felt uncomfortable. Everyone was sitting around the table, and she didn’t recognize anyone. She had no idea where to sit. Edie took out her phone, pretending to look at her messages while she scanned the room. She noticed that Clyde wasn’t there and felt relieved.

"Edie, over here!" Someone was waving and calling her name. She hesitated and walked over. It was Dolly.

Dolly was a respectful actress in the entertainment circle. She graduated from one of the top film academies. She had amazing acting skills and starred in all box office hits. She was thirty-five but didn’t look at her age. Everyone thought she was in her early twenties. Edie watched many of her films and was one of her number one fans.

Edie sat down beside her and shook Dolly’s hand. "Nice to meet you, Miss. Will. I’ve watched many of your films, and I loved every one of them."

Dolly noticed Edie’s hand was shaking and smiled, "Don’t be nervous! We have a lot of parts together. So this is the perfect time to get to know each other."

Without expecting Dolly to be so out-going and easy to get along with, Edie let out a sigh of relief. She smiled, "Yes, you’re right. After all, I’m playing the role of your maid."

Edie no sooner finished her sentence, and someone sat beside her and sneered. Edie looked at her, and her face revealed a look of disdain and disgust. She was young and beautiful, but Edie had a bad feeling about her.

It was Vicky Herring, who took Edie’s role as Yvonne Patricia. Vicky wanted the role of Mae Sears, but it was given to Edie. Danny informed Edie, and Edie took it upon herself to search for her online. That was when she found out that Vicky came from the Herring Family. Which was one of the three richest families in River State?

Edie calmly said, "Nice to meet you, Miss. Herring."

"Miss. Lara, are you a famous actress? I do recall that you are not! How polite you are!" Geneva Lanier said sarcastically.

Geneva was more experienced than Vicky, but she still wasn’t a famous actress. She had a powerful background, just like Edie, but she tried to use Vicky to her advantage to help with her career. Vicky was never nice to her, but Geneva didn’t care. All she cared about was the power of the Herring family.

Edie was aware of the situation between them. She looked at Geneva and smiled. "Yes, I do try to be. Under all circumstances, unlike some people," Edie replied.

Geneva’s face turned red. She was speechless, and Edie never said another word. The rest of the people arrived, and Malloy made a toast of encouragement, and shortly after, the dinner came.

Geneva wanted to get Edie back by embarrassing her. "Miss. Lara, I heard you struggled to get this role in the film! Am I right?"

Edie was confused and answered, "Miss. Lanier, what are you implying? I’m really not sure what you mean?"

"You’re not a well-known actress, but you still manage to get an important role!" Geneva was implying that Edie got the part only because there was someone of great influence backing Edie.

That was not what happened at all. Edie got the role by herself and also the role of Mae Sears. It was Vicky who was sitting beside her that had someone backing her.
