Chapter 285: Chapter 285: I Want To Have A Daughter
"You really don’t want to have a baby anymore?" Edie said in almost a whisper.
Stuart shook his head and said with a frown on his face, "The process of giving birth is too painful! You could run into all kinds of complications and maybe even death. I don’t want you to take the risk."
There were tears in Edie’s eyes, and she said, "How could I be so lucky to have a man who cares and loves me so much? What more could I ask for?"
Edie’s heart was touched; the tears began to stream down her cheeks. She reached out and put her hand around Stuart’s neck.
"But I want one," She said bashfully.
Stuart was startled and said, "Really, you want one?"
"I want a child who looks like you and me. He will be treated so well! I’ll care for him and love him, and I will give him the childhood that I always wanted." Edie explained. Then she smiled and said, "Don’t you think it would be amazing to have a child of our own?"
While looking at the smile on her happy face, Stuart’s heart was touched. He threw his arms around her, and they embraced passionately. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"This is one of the happiest days of my life," he said. The compassion in his voice surprised Edie, and she glanced up at him with so much love in her eyes.
"So, do you want to have a baby?" She doubtfully asked as she smiled at him.
Stuart gently stroked her long hair and said, "I want a daughter who looks like you. I’ll give you both the best of everything."
Edie’s heart was filled with so much joy when Stuart agreed. She silently said, "Then you mean..."
Stuart suddenly moved closer to her and revealed a naughty grin on his face. Then he said, "What I meant is, if Mrs. Yates wants a baby so badly, we need to start on making one today."
When Edie was just about to rebut, Stuart stopped her by a kiss, then Edie completely surrendered under his gentle attack.
The next morning, Edie went to Blue Entertainment for the shooting of the Dynasty Elegy cast photo. Before arriving, Edie was a little nervous, wondering how she would face Clyde if he were there. Luckily, Clyde didn’t wasn’t there.
The staff members explained to her apologetically, "There’s supposed to be two scenes of Mae Sears and Prince Raines taken today. Since Clyde’s schedule is too full, we’ll have to take the single cast photos first."
Of course, Edie was fine with it. She was keenly aware of Clyde’s popularity, and because of it, it was impossible to ask him to cooperate with every media campaign throughout the whole process of the movie. However, Dynasty Elegy spent a lot of money on production. Just the character for the maid itself had nine sets of delicate costumes. fгeewebnovёl.com
This was not unusual as it was a standard procedure for all the actors and actresses. However, she didn’t have to get her picture taken in all of the nine costumes. There were only three sets of clothing chosen to represent the character of Mae Sears throughout the T.V. series.
Edie was very cooperative, and she did everything she was told without any complaints. After an hour of shooting, the photographers and stylists all had a good impression of her.
One of the stylists said to Edie, "Miss Lara, you’re so nice and cooperative. You have a pleasant personality, and it’s been great working with you."
Edie smiled and replied, "That’s what I’m supposed to do. Your work is more tiring than mine. I don’t have to move around, but you guys have to find angles to shoot and do styles for me. Thank you for your hard work."
During the process of shooting cast photos for the past few days, Edie was the first to thank them, and the photographer and stylist were touched. The photographer said with sincerity in his voice, "Miss Lara, you’re perfect for this role. I think your look is better than Yvonne Patricia’s. When this movie becomes public, I truly believe you will become famous."
Edie thanked him in modesty. But she knew the photographer was comforting her subtly because he knew that Vicky Herring took her role. Edie knew the importance of treating crew members well from her last filming. She still remembered the arrogance and rudeness of Zoe during her last filming. No one stood by her side when Edie needed help. She learned that lesson from Zoe.
Unexpectedly, after the shooting, Edie got a phone call. She looked at her phone and noticed it was an unfamiliar number. Edie was puzzled, and she answered the phone.
"Hi, it’s Clyde," The voice on the other end of the phone sounded cheerful.
Edie was startled, and she exclaimed, "Clyde Jackson?" Surprised, she thought, "He didn’t even come to the shooting, why is he calling me?"
"Sorry Edie, today was such a busy day for me. I didn’t have time for the shooting," he said, sounding very apologetic. His attitude made Edie very uncomfortable.
She winced when she heard his explanation and said, "Mr. Jackson." Edie deliberately spoke in a firm voice and said, "No problem! There’s no need for you to explain it to me."
Hearing how Edie addressed him, Clyde laughed and said, "I’m the same age as you. Don’t be so reserved, just call me Clyde."
Before he could finish his sentence, Edie heard a distant voice from the other end of the phone. "Clyde, you’re up." The person shouted.
She immediately said, "Looks like Mr. Jackson is busy. I won’t disturb you any longer. Goodbye!"
Then, she hung up quickly, and Edie cringed at the thought and said under her breath, "Why does Clyde have my phone number? I don’t know what his intentions are, and I have no idea why he called me?"
Edie knew she would have to work with him for two months, and she started to get worried.
At the same time, Stuart’s phone at the L.N. Group rang. Ivan stopped talking and walked to the side of Stuart’s desk. Stuart’s expression froze for a second, and then he picked up the phone.
Before he opened his mouth, a timid voice came through from the other end and said, "Master Yates? Sorry for calling you unexpectedly."
It was Hicks Day. With no expression on his face, Stuart asked her, "What’s the matter?"
"No, there isn’t...I mean nothing big, it’s just that I declined a job yesterday. I thought I should tell you. It was the role of Faye from Dynasty Elegy." Hicks stuttered and tried to explain.
"So?" Stuart said and winced slightly, his finger started tapping on the desk. Anyone who knew him would know that when he does that, it means that he’s running out of patience.
