Chapter 268: Chapter 268: I Will Never Agree To It

Stuart couldn’t believe what Eddie was saying and asked again, "What did you say?"

When Eddie was at the castle, she told him she wanted a divorce. Stuart thought it was because she was angry. Then he figured that once she got home, she would calm down and figure it out.

But now at the Royal Villa, she still says the same thing! Eddie endured the pain in her heart. She avoided Stuart’s eyes and acted as if she felt nothing.

"You don’t seem to want to be honest with me, and I am not going to push you. I just can’t live like this anymore, and we can’t be together. In fact, our divorce will be simple as there will be no property disputes. All I have to do is move my things out. You have helped me a lot during this period. If you want, I can repay you for the things that you bought me. I just need to wait to be paid, and if you don’t trust me, we get a contract written out."

Stuart was so angry, he reached over and took hold of her jaw. He looked at her with an appalling coldness, which made her tremble and made her feel uneasy.

"Are you trying to piss me off?"

His eyes made Eddie’s heart quiver, and her calm heart started to beat fast again. She took a deep breath and tried to stabilize her mind.

"I’m not angry with you. I’m serious. What I need is sincerity and earnest devotion without reservation or misgiving. It is obvious that you can’t give that to me. We have both suffered enough pain."

"I don’t know how you would feel if I told you what happened ten years ago? If I tell you the truth, will you lose your temper?" Stuart spoke to her in a low voice. Eddie almost blurted out the word "Yes," but the words came to her mouth and were swallowed back.

Eddie did not want to know how they loved each other even after ten years. Then how can he explain Hicks? Then there was Anna who was in love with him. She just didn’t want to do it anymore.

Eddie suddenly felt tired. Stuart was so handsome, and so many women were in love with him. But she didn’t want to be one of them anymore. She shook her head slightly, "Stuart, it’s late, I gave you a chance at the dance, you chose Hicks, and now I don’t want to know.

Stuart looked so pale, and then he asked her, "You’ve been chasing Donald for a year, and you didn’t give up until he got married. Then you give up on me in less than one night? You gave him a million chances to explain. How many times did you give me? I just want to talk to you, and you still want to talk about divorce. Eddie, why are you doing this to me?"

The last words as if from the crack of his teeth were irrepressible. Hearing Stuart’s question, Eddie couldn’t help asking herself why. Perhaps it was because she knew that Donald did not mean to forget her and that his memory loss was because of something else.

Perhaps it was because she had been wounded by Donald and did not want to try anymore. Maybe because she loved Stuart more than Donald, she also became timid. There were many answers, but none of them mattered.

"You can do whatever you want, but we are doomed, and we will eventually divorce," Eddie tried to show no emotion.

"What if I say no?"

He squinted dangerously at her, and his voice was so chilling.

"Then I’ll go to court! We have only been married for a short period of time. There aren’t any children and no property disputes. There will be no issues, and the divorce will be final."

"Is that what you really feel deep down in your heart? I can’t believe that you have it all figured out? Is it that easy for you?"

Stuart’s handsome face became so filled with anger that the veins on his forehead bulged, and he began to sweat. The calm he was proud of was almost defeated by her stubborn eyes. He released Eddie’s hand and turned around quickly, afraid that he could not control his anger and would hurt her.

He didn’t want to stay in his study, and he had to get away to clear his head. Eddie couldn’t help but panic and try to stop him, "Stuart, where are you going? We still need to talk about it..."

The word "Divorce" had not been spoken, and the words had been cut off by him.

"I’ll never agree to it! I want you to stop thinking about it!"

Stuart tilted his head slightly, glanced over at Eddie with the corner of his eye, clenched his fist sharply. He stood up and started to walk out. He needed to get away from Eddie; his rage was consuming him.

Stuart quickly disappeared in the doorway. When he left, Eddie fell to the floor uncontrollably, only to discover that the cold sweat from her back had soaked her clothes. Stuart didn’t come back all night. Eddie was confused and worried about Stuart. She was up all night.

The next morning when Eddie woke up, her eyes were bloodshot, and her face was swollen from crying. She tried covering her face with makeup, but it was no use; there was no way of hiding it. She had a bad night’s sleep and left the Villa looking tired and gaunt.

When she walked into Danny’s office, she took off her sunglasses.

"What the hell happened to you? If the crew of Dynasty Elegy, saw what you look like now, they would have never signed a contract with you."

"I didn’t get a good night’s sleep last night."

"My God, you are an entertainer. Your face is so important. You can’t keep this up, or you will never be able to stay in showbiz. Is that what you want?"

Eddie sighed, "Not until I get this done, and it’s all over."

"What happened?" Danny looked at her suspiciously. After all, Danny knew about her relationship with Stuart, and Eddie told him it was nothing.

"Stuart and I are going to get a divorce."

"What?" Danny got up directly from behind the desk and exclaimed.

Eddie was surprised by Danny’s reaction, "Why are you acting so surprised?"

Danny realized he was overreacting, sat back in his seat, and lowered his voice, "Are you crazy? Master Yates has been so good to you. Why do you want to divorce him?"

Eddie had nothing to say about their marriage. Danny was a gay man, and he knew nothing about marriage. She didn’t want to explain too much to Danny. She only said, "It just happened. So I thought you should know."

"When you first got married, you kept it from me. Now you come to me, and the divorce is the first thing that you tell me," Danny said. When he saw Eddie’s sad face, he softened his tone.

"Well, you can handle your emotional affairs. I can’t force you. It was unfortunate that you didn’t use Stuart’s resources. So if you do get a divorce, at least it’s not bad for your career." freeweɓnovel.cѳm

Eddie laughs, "That’s probably the only good thing."

Danny knew Eddie didn’t want to talk about it and changed the subject, "Let’s not talk about this anymore. Let’s get down to business. I have some good news for you."
