Chapter 267: Chapter 267: I Want A Divorce
Stuart glanced up sharply and stared into Eddie’s eyes, "What did you say?"
"Stuart, I don’t want to play games with you anymore. You and I are from two different worlds. You have been privileged your whole life and came from the upper class. Where I struggled my whole life coming from the lower class, we both have different values, morals, and ethics."
Eddie took a deep breath, and it felt like every breath hurt, "Maybe our marriage was a mistake. If you can’t forget about your old girlfriend, we should get a divorce!"
Stuart was in the grip of powerful emotion. Eddie was devastated; she had no control over the present or what lies ahead. Without saying a word, he grabbed Eddie by the wrist and pulled her into a room and slammed the door.
Eddie tried to struggle, but Stuart was too strong. She kicked and wriggled, but couldn’t break free. Suddenly there was silence, and Eddie and Stuart could only hear each other’s breathing as they glared at each other.
Stuart squinted dangerously at Eddie and said, "What did you say?"
"I said, I want a divorce! Did you hear me? A D-i-v-o-r-c-e!"
Eddie screamed as hard as she could. The tears now rolled uncontrollably down her cheeks. As soon as Eddie’s voice fell, she felt a strong grasp. Stuart grabbed her hips, kissing her hard and leaving her breathless.
She just froze for only a second and immediately reacted. Eddie struggled to break free again, but his embrace was like an iron wall. She was so angry and anxious that she closed her eyes and bit his tongue.
In an instant, the rush of his blood filled her mouth. Eddie could feel the tongue curling in pain. She thought he would leave immediately. But he only stagnated for a moment and then continued to absorb her goodness.
This kiss that Stuart gave her was as if he poured all his feelings into it. There was an aggressive atmosphere in the room, and it fiercely occupied her. Eddie didn’t want to open her eyes because she was afraid.
The tears were still running down her cheeks. Stuart kissed her for a long time before loosening her body. Then he stopped and looked at her slightly reddish lips.
There were still tears in her eyes, and for a moment, Stuart’s eyes were filled with emotion. He looked deeply into Eddie’s eyes and felt a sharp prick in his heart. His heart was suffocating at the sight of her distress.
"Come home with me."
This misunderstanding was unresolved, and she was in no mood for a dinner party. Eddie opened her eyes and looked stubbornly at Stuart, "I don’t want to go back home with you."
She was so confused now that she wasn’t prepared to be alone with Stuart. He relented and turned her sideways. Eddie was startled and started to struggle again, but Stuart’s voice was cold and distant.
"I have a million ways that I can get you back. Would you like me to try?"
"Yes, who are you? But the CEO of the L.N. Group, the highest-ranking player in the city. Why would you even care about a little star like me?"
"From the start, our relationship was not equal."
Eddie gave him a sarcastic smile. But was she sarcastic to Stuart or to her naive and foolish to herself? She fell into a dead calm and could not hold it down her throat at one breath.
Eddie continued to close her eyes. Not to see the handsome face, nor to feel her breath. She had no idea what she was feeling, and she felt lost entirely.
Stuart was heartbroken, his lips pressed tightly together, and he took her in his arms. Without a word, they returned to the Royal Villa. Stuart took Eddie straight up to the bedroom and put her on the bed.
Eddie kept her eyes closed, like a silent protest. Stuart looked at her with a kind of helplessness in his eyes. For the first time, he did not know what to do. She was too precious, and everything he did for her seemed to be wrong.
He said, "I’ll come back to see you later. Then we can have a talk."
Hearing the door close, Eddie summoned the courage to open her eyes. At present, the bright and active eyes had lost their sparkle. Eddie took the makeup off her face, took off her fancy dress, took a shower, and put on her own clothes.
Eddie looked at herself in the mirror. In the afternoon, she was dressed up as Mrs. Yates, but when she came back in the evening, she was changed back into the ordinary Eddie. She thought about all the luxurious things that Stuart had given her.
It was something she had never thought of before, and it was as though it was a dream. Eddie was like Alice, who had strayed into wonderland and experienced things that didn’t belong to her. Now, it was time to return to reality.
Eddie sighed and made up her mind. She decided that she and Stuart needed to get a divorce. She didn’t dare to talk to him as Eddie didn’t want to know about the stories he had about other women.
If Stuart had other women on his mind, she would rather not have him in her life. That was the pride of Eddie. Eddie went out of the bedroom and decided to take the initiative. She felt proud when she finally left. freewebnovel.cσ๓
The door of the study was not closed, and Stuart was inside. She was about to knock on the door when she heard Stuart talking to someone, "She even mentioned, "Hicks."
"You take care of Miss. Hicks and keep her safe."
Countless thoughts raised through Eddie’s mind, "Hicks looked like Marina, and she wasn’t Marina herself. Yet Stuart cared so much about this woman. So if Marina was not dead, where would Marina be in his heart? Where would I be in his heart?"
"Even if Marina is dead, competing with a dead person, I would never be able to win."
Eddie took a deep breath and kept telling herself it was time to give up. She gathered her thoughts together and was about to knock, but the door was opened by Stuart. The atmosphere suddenly solidified.
"I didn’t mean to eavesdrop on your phone call. I have something to talk to you about," Eddie said as she walked into the room. Stuart’s face was calm, and his eyes were dark and frightening. He stood there motionless, and Eddie had no idea what he was thinking.
He gave her a motion to sit down. Eddie sat on the sofa beside Stuart.
"What do you want to talk to me about?"
Eddie took a deep breath and said decisively, "We need to talk about a divorce."
