Chapter 261: Chapter 261: Everyone Wants Stuart To Disappear
Eddie said it was FATE that didn’t convince Anna. She felt that Eddie was deliberately uncaring.
"Eddie, you do know that I’m not afraid of you. I love Stuart, and I’m going to win! I have always loved him, and I will take him away from you. I am competing with you for Stuart’s love, and I will win! You look at me like you don’t care, is it because you don’t love him as much as I do? I don’t understand why he is in love with you?"
Anna thought of what Eddie had told her last time. Eddie said she didn’t own what she could have taken away; that was the reason Eddie let Stuart and Anna see each other. Anna hated Eddie’s attitude as if she didn’t care about what happened between her and Stuart.
Eddie was so confident that Anna wasn’t a threat to their relationship. Anna felt a sense of contempt towards Eddie. Eddie couldn’t help but think to herself when she heard Anna’s words, "Do I act as though I care about nothing?"
The more Eddie thought about it, the more she realized that it was because she was afraid. Stuart was too good for her. Eddie always felt that such a man was beyond her control, and it was better to treat him like any other person so that she would get hurt in the end. That was a lesson she learned from Donald.
"How can an outsider possibly know that I don’t value my husband?" Eddie smiled, ignoring Anna’s ugly expression.
"Our marriage is perfect, and I don’t have to try to maintain it. As for you, Anna, women’s youth is so short, why would you waste your time and energy on someone who is unavailable and in love with another woman?" fгeewebnovёl.com
Anna was the same age as Stuart, almost twenty-seven years old. Eddie really couldn’t understand Anna’s behavior. Anna got mad and stood up.
She retorted, "What do you mean impossible? Eddie, don’t be so sure of yourself. Why do you find it necessary to show off in front of me? Do you really think you can beat me? Don’t blame me for not reminding you. I’ll take Stuart away from you, and when I do, don’t come crying to me."
Eddie was surprised at the sudden outburst of Anna. She had no idea she could be so intense. Eddie was trying to figure out Anna’s way of thinking, "How dare Anna that she is going to take Stuart from her. She is a woman with no shame."
"Stuart and I are married and protected by the law, and your conduct is completely immoral!"
Anna laughed at Eddie’s accusation, "So what? Morality is nothing. In the end, only the weak will seek the protection of morality. Only the strong will strive for whatever they want. I don’t care what you accuse me of, as long as I can get Stuart!"
"You don’t care?" Eddie stared at Anna.
"Is there only Stuart in your world? Don’t you care about your family, your friends, your career, even your self-esteem?"
Eddie’s voice was light and soft, but the words stuck in Anna’s ears, and she suddenly froze. Eddie’s expression on her face changed. There wasn’t any anger or blame, but there was a hint of sadness.
Eddie seemed to be questioning another person through Anna. She was asking herself, who had once pestered Donald. Anna’s sadness, was it not once her sadness?
"Anna has the same kind of love towards Stuart that I once had for Donald. It makes you feel crazy and desperate?"
Anna laughed, "You’ll never understand my feelings for him."
"I don’t want to, and I don’t care, I just know how I feel about Stuart. Whatever your feelings are, they should not implicate innocent people, which is the basic morality of being human."
Eddie finished the word for word, never wanting to talk such nonsense with Anna again and stood up getting ready to leave. As she got up too fast, she bumped into the waiter. The wine on the tray fell, like a symphony.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Yates! I’m really sorry!" As soon as the waiter saw who he hit, he turned pale and apologized. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"What did he say? Mrs. Yates?" Anna wondered how a waiter could know about Eddie’s relationship with Stuart. Anna had no idea that Stuart had come to reveal Eddie’s identity, and within minutes, the news had spread throughout the party.
The waiter knew who Eddie was and felt awful and just kept apologizing. Eddie looked at the wine stain on her white dress and was heartbroken. She did not want to blame the waiter, who was trembling with fear. Eddie was the one who was responsible as she got up too quickly without seeing him, "It’s all right, I can wipe it off. Really, don’t worry!"
Eddie left to try and clean her dress. Anna decided to stop Eddie, but she slowed down and let her go. Stuart was off in the distance mingling with the people, but from the corner of his eye, he could see Eddie.
Then suddenly she was gone. Soon Stuart apologized to the person and told them he had to leave. He was going to look for Eddie.
Anna took the initiative to greet him, and for a moment, forgot that he didn’t like being touched. She grabbed his shirt and asked in a trembling voice, "You made your relationship public? How could you do that? If Marina knew..."
"Remove your hand now!" Stuart’s voice was cold without a trace of warmth. With the cold look on his face, Anna shuddered and let go of her hand subconsciously.
"Stuart, how could you..."
"It’s none of your business."
Anna asked unwillingly, "What about Marina? Don’t you care about her?"
Stuart’s eyes were so sharp that he seemed to see right through Anna’s heart.
"Whether it’s me and Eddie or me and Marina, what I decide to do is my business. It does not require your intervention. I’m grateful that you helped me find Marina, but please remember your discretion."
"I did it for," Anna tried to defend herself, but couldn’t tell him the truth. It didn’t matter because Stuart saw right through her. Stuart turned around and left.
Anna could not understand why he was treating her this way, "Stuart’s boredom and impatience are so obvious. I should go after him, but I just don’t have the courage."
"But...I know how to make things better! I have loved Stuart for ten years, and I will not give up. I know I can do it!"
"What I can’t get is what Marina wants. What Marina and I want is what Eddie has. Everyone who wants Stuart has to disappear!"
Her hands were clenched tightly and, through her eyes, flowed the look of ferocity and horror.
