Chapter 221: Chapter 221: We Don’t Have Deep Relationship

Eddie saw how upset Stuart was. His hands were tightly clenched into fists, and the veins on his forehead and neck stood out like cords. Eddie wanted to say something, but she bit her knuckles and swallowed her fury. Now was not a good time to talk to Stuart.

Eddie thought, "What is making him do this? He was the one who did something wrong. So why was Stuart acting like this? Did he think I would not be upset if I saw him with Anna?"

She was tired of fighting, tired of Stuart’s attitude. In Eddie’s heart, she was genuinely sorry, the truth was she didn’t want to humiliate Stuart in public, but he made her so angry. She remained quiet, and Stuart put her in the car and fastened her seat belt.

They rode in silence the whole way back to the Royal Villa. When they got out of the car, Mr. Sampson, who was already aware of what was going on and was waiting for them at the door, as soon as the vehicle stopped, without saying a word, Stuart unbuckled Eddie’s seat belt and picked her up again.

She couldn’t help feeling familiar annoyance at him as she turned away from him. Did she not have any rights? Stuart carried Eddie directly to the bedroom, and as soon as he laid her on the bed, she firmly pushed him away and said, "Enough! Now, don’t touch me!" freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Eddie was still angry and couldn’t believe that he actually carried all the way to the bedroom. The strength used to push Stuart was as much as a tickle to him. But her actions succeeded in infuriating him.

"Don’t touch you?" Stuart clenched his teeth and repeated. Eddie realized what she said, but she was so upset. She seemed to regret it, but it was like the water that spilled out.

Eddie turned her face away, so Stuart couldn’t see her and said, "I just don’t want you to touch me. Yes, you’re angry? But I’m mad too!’

Stuart stared at Eddie, his eyes were deeper than the depth, "Why are you so angry? I don’t understand why you are so upset?"

"I told you that Anna is in love with you, but yet you still go with her alone? You didn’t even consider my feelings. Even if there isn’t anything between you and Anna, it’s like you’re leading her on. I’m not asking you to not talk to her, and I am asking you to think about me first."

Eddie was trying to tell Stuart how she felt, and the more she expressed her feelings, the more she got upset. What Stuart did broke her heart, and Eddie couldn’t hold back her tears; they immediately raced down her cheeks. It was nothing but pure jealousy that guided her thoughts and the fear of losing him.

Seeing Eddie so emotional, Stuart calmed down. He took her hand, and with a deep look of concern, he asked, "Are you jealous?"

Eddie bit her lower lip and said, "Yes! I’m just jealous! Wouldn’t you be? Can’t I care about my husband?"

Stuart looked at her, and the corners of his mouth turned up into a small smile. This made Eddie furious, "What’s the matter with you? I’m jealous, so you reply with only a smile. It would help if you were reassuring me that I have nothing to worry about. At least do something to make me feel better."

"I am smiling because I am happy. You said I was your husband, do you have any idea how that makes me feel to hear you say that? It means that you care about me; therefore, it makes me happy."

Stuart’s had a serious and thoughtful face, and he spoke so convincingly. He continued to say, "Anna and I are just friends. We don’t have a deep relationship. Do you say she’s in love with me? I didn’t know that, and honestly, I don’t care. Since I don’t care about her, I don’t want to spend any more time thinking about her. As for the reason why Anna and myself were at the audition, it was to discuss business on behalf of the Joyce family. Now knowing how you feel, I will have less contact with her in the future. If that still bothers you, then I can waive the contract and no longer have any contact with her at all?"

Eddie couldn’t believe Stuart had said so much. In retrospect, he was explaining his relationship with Anna to her. So, in the end, Stuart put the decision of their involvement in Eddie’s hands. It seemed to ease her heart.

So she didn’t want him to end the contract with her family and said, "I’m not going to keep you away from her."

Stuart saw Eddie’s attitude change and raised his eyebrows, questionably, " Aren’t you mad?"

Eddie wanted to be honest, "Not as angry as I was."

Stuart paused and took a deep breath, "Okay, now it’s time to solve the problem of my anger?"

Eddie was caught off guard and then remembered that some of her actions today were a bit extreme; therefore, she understood why Stuart would be so upset with her. She began to feel nervous. Eddie managed a smile, too overwhelmed by her feelings to speak.

She moved cautiously backward in an attempt to escape Stuart’s gaze, "Why are you angry?"

Stuart stepped forward and grabbed her arm. Wondering what Stuart was going to do, Eddie started to shake in fear. She moved her head and looked into his eyes. The sight of him stirred emotions that confused her.

"Stuart," her voice trembled as she began to speak. She stared at him for a moment, unconsciously holding her breath.

"Who was that man who was touching you?"

Hearing the question, Eddie knew Stuart had misunderstood. She immediately explained, "his name is Gould, and he was my former assistant. He’s gay. It is only friendship, and he is only a good friend."

"You said, if he liked women, you would marry him. What did you mean by that?"

Stuart’s eyes narrowed suspiciously, and he repeated what Eddie had said at the hospital today. Eddie bit her lips to keep them from quivering and blinked her eyes to get rid of blur.

"Stuart, it was a joke. I didn’t mean what I said. I love you, and Gould is only a friend."

Stuart stepped closer and said, "I’m just an acquaintance of yours? What’s wrong with you? Are you so ashamed of me that you can’t even admit that I’m your husband? That’s what you say about me to outsiders?"

There was no excuse for Eddie’s behavior. She knew she had gone too far, Eddie accepted her mistake, "I was wrong. It will never happen again."
