Chapter 220: Chapter 220: Are You Satisfied?
Again Gould shyly scratched his head, "You’re making money now. You’re going to become a famous star. I didn’t know if you still liked it?"
Eddie took a deep breath and sighed. Looking at the food made her even hungrier, "I still like it. It doesn’t matter if the food is cheap. All that matters is that it tastes good."
"Then you can eat as much as you like and don’t worry about losing any weight today."
When Gould was Eddie’s assistant, he had remembered Danny telling her to lose weight every day. Eddie was surprised that he had never forgotten. She ate a fried dumpling and crinkled up her nose, "Do you think I need to lose weight now?"
Gould looked at Eddie and was surprised, "It looks like you have lost a lot of weight. You look prettier than before."
"Thank you, Gould, that’s very nice of you to say." Eddie smiled a warm and friendly smile. Gould added, "I’m serious. I think you’re more beautiful than Queenie Sanchez, the queen of the big screen. You didn’t have a good chance before because you had to take some time off. Now, as long as you’re serious, I know one day soon you’ll be famous."
"Well, thank you for your encouragement."
Taking advantage of Eddie’s good mood, Gould ventured to ask a question. It was something he had been curious about since this afternoon, "Today at Dior, who was the man you were arguing with? He seemed very familiar."
When Gould suddenly mentioned Stuart, Eddie paused and said, "He’s just an acquaintance. He can be a little demanding sometimes. Please, let’s not talk about him."
She quickly changed the topic and said, "Gould, you are so kind. It’s a good thing you don’t like women or I would marry you as soon as I could!"
Gould didn’t take it, heart, because he knew Eddie was joking. The women from the company used to say the same thing to him. Suddenly the expression on Gould’s face changed. As he looked up, he was a tall figure standing in the doorway.
"Um...Your acquaintance looks a little pale."
Eddie had her back to the door so she couldn’t see who was standing there. Gould could see clearly that the handsome, livid man was the one who had quarreled with Eddie today. She thought he was still talking about this afternoon, and because he was eating, he could not speak clearly.
"He’s quite the man, and he’s out of his mind. I know I have to go back, but I may ask you to go with me. I don’t want to go alone."
Gould just glanced at Stuart and was shocked by his momentum. Gould was starting to feel a little overwhelmed, and his legs began to shake.
"I’m afraid... I can’t take..." Gould said, trying to control the quiver in his voice. Eddie didn’t understand why Gould’s attitude had suddenly changed. She looked at him, wondering, "why not?"
With his fingers trembling, he pointed toward the door. Eddie turned around with a fried dumpling in her mouth and saw Stuart’s gloomy face. She stared open-mouthed at the sight of him. The fried dumpling dropped from her mouth and fell onto the bed.
But at this point, Eddie looked up at him in dismay, "You, what are you doing here?"
How accurate! No man by day, no ghost by night. How did he know she was here? How long has he been standing there? How much did he hear?
Seeing Stuart ignore her, Eddie swallowed back pain that rose up in her throat and asked Gould, "How long has he been here, Gould?"
Gould’s face was as pale as a ghost, "He came when you said you were going to marry me."
No matter how naive Gould was, he knew something was wrong. There must be something special about their relationship. Stuart looked at Gould’s face as if he were going to kill him. Had he done anything wrong? He would not be killed, would he? freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Gould stood up quickly and said, "This friend of yours seems to care about you that he should be taking you home instead of me. You can leave after your foot is compressed with the ice. Take care of yourself."
After saying that, he left as quickly as he could. Eddie couldn’t believe that Gould just left her there after her praising him for so long. Was he afraid of Stuart? Because she was now scared too!
Eddie knew that she had to face him, and she couldn’t run away from him anymore. She had this overwhelming feeling of anxiousness. She didn’t want to look into Stuart’s cold eyes. Eddie tried to avoid them by lowering her head, "You...What’s the matter?"
"An acquaintance is looking for you. Is that what I am to you?"
At this point, Eddie was trembling from being so frightened. Stuart was angry at what she said. If she had been a little unsure at first, she was positively sure now.
Eddie shrank back into the bed and took a deep breath, "Yes, but don’t look at me like that. You’re scaring me."
Stuart’s eyes grew colder when he heard what Eddie said.
"Then, do you want me to do this to you."
Stuart walked towards Eddie and put his face close to hers, and then an eerie smile pasted on his lips. She was frightened by the smile, "stop looking at me like that."
"Now are you satisfied?"
Stuart continued to stare at her blankly. Eddie wanted nothing more than to run away. She reached out and took the ice off her ankle. She put on her shoes, got off the bed, and said, "Okay, fine, I’ll go first. You don’t need to go with me."
As she spoke, she was limping to the door. Before she could take two steps, her wrist was tightly gripped by a hand from behind, and she was picked up before she could turn around and say anything.
"Ah, " Eddie only had time to scream. Stuart ignored her and carried her straight out of the ward.
Both the nurses and the patients in the hallway were surprised by all the commotion. Eddie looked embarrassed and kept trying to struggle, "Hello! Stuart, what are you doing? Get away from me!"
Stuart’s words seemed to come through his teeth, "If you don’t want me to do anything more out of line, Just shut up."
Stuart was really pissed off right now. Since this afternoon, this woman has been pointing her finger at him, and now to make things even worse, Eddie is not only saying bad things about Stuart behind his back but also saying that she wanted to marry another man.
The usual calmness was long gone, and Stuart felt that he had to exert a great deal of self-control. He was able to control himself and not strangle the woman in his arms. If she kept on talking, he really couldn’t guarantee what he would do.
