"Thank you, Danny. I know you have been worried about me," Edie started to approach him. She was not coaxing him. Right from the very beginning, Edie had nothing. After leaving, the Greg’s family, she was in debt. When she had nowhere to go, Danny gave her a helping hand.
No matter what trouble Edie was in, Danny never gave up on her. He even tried to get some resources for her. In respect to this, he is better than most of the agents in the circle."
Danny did not buy it, and he pounded on the table, and he asked her, "Tell me the truth. You have never had any scandals before. How long have you been connected to Joanna’s fiancée?"
Edie raised her three fingers immediately, "Danny, I swear to you. I do not have any disreputable relationship with Donald."
"But what about the audience? You have to make them trust you. Do you want them to kick you out again? Do you still want to stay in the circle? The reputation attached has great importance for an actress. Once your reputation is destroyed, there is no coming back."
Edie hesitated and said, "On my way coming here, Donald called me. He told me he had taken care of everything."
"Has he? But he was the one causing this situation. How could he handle it?"
Danny was prejudiced. Though it was said that Edie was the third person in the relationship between Donald and Joanna, he did not show any affection for Donald.
Without even knocking on the door and while they were talking, the assistant Jack rushed in with a computer in his hand, "Danny, look...."
Danny was not in a good mood, "What the hell? Do you not know how to knock on the door? I am busy, don’t you see that?"
Jack was out of breath as he ran there, and he quickly showed him the computer screen, "Danny, Joanna, she has posted a video." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"What is she doing on there"?!!! Both Danny and Edie couldn’t wait to see the video that she had issued. It was on her twitter. She posted the footage ten minutes ago. There had been more than ten thousand comments already.
Danny clicked the play button. Wearing a white dress, Joanna looked more elegant and delicate than usual. Sitting in front of the camera, she smiled and started talking.
"First of all, I want to share some good news with you..." Joanna looked a little shy, and then she showed two pieces of paper, "I am going to be married soon."
Then, she put them back in her purse and continued, "Actually, I have been engaged for half a year. I planned to tell you later, but because of our work, we have not determined the date of the wedding. I wanted to share my happiness with you about our upcoming wedding."
Then, Joanna, with a serious look on her face, "I was shocked by the news this morning. I did not expect to see something like this in the paper. This will confuse both my husband and Miss Lara. Therefore, I think it’d be better for me to explain."
"Yesterday, I went to visit the director of the White Love Song on the shooting spot with my husband. He was waiting for me there. Seeing Edie, he just wanted to invite her to come to our wedding."
"But there were too many reporters there. To avoid a misunderstanding, they talked in the prop room, but some reporter misinterpreted it. He assumed something bad happened between us. I made this video to explain it to you. Do not get the wrong idea, all right?"
Then, that was the end of the video. Edie was shocked, "Danny, did you see what I saw, or am I seeing things?" Danny was also shocked, "What the hell? What have you done to her?"
Though Joanna looked innocent and elegant on the screen, Danny heard a lot about her in the circle. He knew she was more complicated than she appeared. He never expected that she would help Edie.
Danny pinched Edie’s arms. Edie screamed, "That hurt, what are you doing?" Danny put his hand on his lower jaw as if he was thinking, "So, I am not dreaming." Edie did not know whether to cry or laugh.
In the comments on Twitter, the fans were blessing their marriage and cursing the reporter. Edie still found it hard to believe what happened, "So, that’s it. It’s all over?" Rolling his eyes, Danny said, "Or what? You plan to cause another fight?"
"I can’t believe that Joanna would help me. She hates me. She must have done it for herself. After all, she is engaged to Donald."
"You are wrong, "Danny became serious like an elite agent, "As the victim in this incident, she would be sympathized by the public. As for Donald, he is not in the circle. Though he will be criticized, he will not be affected. If she did not come out to explain, the public would never let it go. In other words, only you are the sinner in this incident."
Hearing his explanation, Edie thought he was right. When it came to reputation and morality, there was no way that she had any proof, only her word, "But why did Joanna help me?"
Thinking for a moment, Danny inferred, "I do not know what happened between you two. But Donald did tell you that he would take care of it for you, does that mean that he persuaded Joanna?" Hearing Danny mentioning Donald, Edie recalled the marriage license that Joanna had shown in her video.
So, are they getting married? Edie thought it was quite ironic. Though he had nothing to do with her now, she felt a little sad after being informed that he was going to marry that woman.
She realized everything that happened during those five years was gone. She would never be able to be with him again.
