Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Who The Hell Is This Man?

Edie was startled. She thought it was her illusion. She rubbed her eyes and found a man in the air outside the window. This was the sixteenth floor! Edie swallowed and tried to gather her courage.

She took two steps forward and looked out the window. Then she saw that the man was outside the window and there was a helicopter. He was hanging in the air by a piece of rope, and he stood comfortably on it. He pulled it with one hand as if he had no fear of the sky.

It was too far away from her, so she had not heard the sound, and now, standing at the window, she could only hear the rumble of the helicopter. The man was dressed in a black trench coat and wore a face mask. She couldn’t see his face, but she could tell that he was skinny.

As she got closer, Edie realized that the man had a camera in his hand, and it was facing Edie. Who the hell is this man? How long has he been standing outside? What’s he doing there? A series of questions flashed through Edie’s mind.

As she was nervous, the man suddenly raised his head in the darkness of the night. He looked at her with his strange, reckless eyes of a cold-light blue. She could not see him very well, but she could feel his gaze upon her. He was like a Wolf upon its prey, ready to fight and devour.

Seeing her look, he didn’t even panic. He put the camera away and held out his forefinger, pointing straight at Edie. "Target confirmed, catch at any time." Edie was horrified by this gesture and had a bad presentiment rise in her heart.

He swung himself from the rope and grasped the curtain with both hands. Who was he? He didn’t look like a regular reporter. Why did he take a picture of her? How long was he there? Did he take a photo of Stuart?

But the thought that they had just argued so violently and said so many hurtful things made her lose her mood, and she could not press the button.

Edie took a deep breath, put down her phone, and went to the window again. She lifted the corner of the curtain and looked out. The man had vanished into thin air. There was only darkness outside as if all had been a dream.
