Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Our Meeting Was A mistake

Edie was blushing with anger; the sight of Stuart stirred up emotions that confused her. She glared disapprovingly at Stuart, and he stared back at her. He was showing no emotion at all. His dark eyes were even darker now as if something was surging like the waves. Edie could tell by the look in his eyes that something was wrong.

Just as she was about to push Stuart away, he suddenly put one hand around her waist, and his other firmly pressed on the back of her head, leaving no place for her to escape. Edie’s eyes widened in surprise, and he kissed her without warning.

There was nothing she could do. She couldn’t get away. Stuart only wanted to punish her and to stop her from saying things that were so hurtful. He put his lips to hers, and he remembered how incredibly soft her lips were. He explored her mouth and pulled her deeper, leaving her breathless.

Edie panicked, and she bit his tongue, but he did not attempt to move. The smell of fresh blood and sweetness spread between their lips, but Stuart showed no signs of backing down. The overwhelming pressure of the kiss left her no room for resistance.

As the kiss went on, Stuart’s hand started to move over her body. His hand that had been wrapped around her waist moved slowly upward, across her waist and then her back, bringing a terrible shiver wherever he touched.

"This feeling...That night at the hotel, in the dark of nothing, endless love, and pain...No, one knew how desperate she was when she got up the next day. She could only feel humiliation. Don’t let it happen again." freewebnσvel.cøm

Edie was falling apart, and she was unable to think calmly, and finally, Stuart let her go. He lifted his head and was breathing heavily. She was suddenly free, and she moved a few steps back and looked at him with tears streaming down her cheeks.

Stuart watched her every movement. He touched the corner of his mouth and wiped away some of the blood that was oozing. The cut on his tongue was still burning, showing how repulsive she had been. No one spoke; only the breathing of two people could be heard in the lounge.

Stuart looked at her coldly, his dark eyes narrowing into a dangerous arc, and he was full of appalling looks. Edie looked at Stuart and was shaking with fear. "Stuart, you are acting so dangerous. I don’t understand?" These thoughts flashed through her mind.

What did she do wrong, and what did Stuart do to her? Edie’s voice trembled, "Stuart, does it interest you in playing like this? Do you not have any respect for me? You have insulted me." If it were an ordinary man, Edie wouldn’t feel so humiliated. But Stuart was gay! He didn’t like women at all! What was a gay person doing to her that was not an insult?

"Donald wanted to kill you and almost strangled you to death, but you cared enough about him to go back and see if he was okay. I just kissed you, and you get mad. That’s what you call respect?"

Stuart’s eyes were full of danger, and the darkness surrounded the room.

"It’s not the same thing at all! Seeing someone whose life is in danger, even if I don’t know who he is. I will help him. Not to mention Donald, at least he was someone that I knew. What about you? What you did just now was an insult to me, you are a hooligan!" ƒreewebɳovel.com

Stuart sniffed, "Hooliganism? Have you forgotten that we have obtained the certificate? You went to the civil affairs bureau, and I received it myself. I am your lawful husband. How easily you forget."

Stuart moved closer again, pressing Edie against the wall. The air pressure around him was like a wall closing in on her, and she could not breathe. His cold eyes stared at her with a complicated look. She had no idea what was going through his mind.

Edie’s heart started to beat so fast, and it felt like it was about to leap out of her throat. She was scared to death. In the character of Stuart, no action was surprising. She was too angry and hearing his words, she straightened up and looked back at him.

"Yes, we have a marriage license, but it’s not real. It’s just a contract, and it isn’t true love. At any time, we can separate or break up!"

Edie’s words so hurt Stuart, but he was too proud to say anything, "Well, if that’s what you think. Edie, I was completely wrong about you this whole time. I was such a fool."

Edie had some regrets, as Stuart had helped her so many times. His anger was irrational, and she shuddered at the thought of what he had done to her. She said obstinately, "Our meeting was a mistake, and when our contract is made, it’s just a matter of getting back to where we should be."

There was a slight pause in Stuart’s heavy breathing; his voice was cold and unfeeling as if it was from hell, "Edie, I could almost kill you." Then, without another look at Edie, he turned and left the lounge.

The door slammed, and it startled Edie. She was so weak that she fell to the floor. Sitting on the cold floor, she could not help recalling Stuart’s last words. Even if they had an argument, would Stuart actually try to kill her?

Not too long ago, she was strangled and almost died by Donald’s hands. When she heard Stuart’s words, she had little doubt that he would do it, "They were just hurt and said things they didn’t mean. He didn’t mean what he said, did he?"

The bruises on her neck were still raw, and Edie stroked her neck involuntarily. She muttered to herself, "Does Stuart hate me so much that he actually wants to kill me?" Edie stood up quickly in a panic and was trying to leave this evil place. As she got up, unexpectedly, she raised her head. She looked through the huge window that was in front of her, only to see a figure hanging out!
