Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Discussion
’A Wizard expedition. More worlds are about to become food for the Wizards!’
After sending Huo Lin off, Andre stood at the door, thinking about the expedition that would take place in ten years.
Just a moment ago, while boarding the Flying Vessel, he’d overheard Huo Lin and Duncan utter a certain phrase: the Ragnarok of the Gods. When he heard it, the Chain of Hatred that tightly bound the knowledge of his Bloodline loosened once again, feeding pieces of that knowledge into his mind.
Through this knowledge, Andre learned that the Senbai Wizard World he was currently in was originally named Senbai World, a Level 4 World. It was capable of nurturing powerful individuals such as the Bright Moon Great Wizard, a Level 5 Grand Wizard.
His ancestor was a pinnacle expert among Level 5 Grand Wizards. With the blessing of the world’s consciousness, he was comparable to a Level 6 Great Wizard. Unfortunately, when facing the combined forces of the Three Red Sun Great Mages, his ancestor was brutally killed on the spot, even after drawing upon the World Origin.
His ancestor’s subordinates, the other All Gods, also fell one after another at the hands of the Three Red Sun Great Mages’ followers.
’This is all too far removed from me now!’
After sighing to himself, Andre was about to close the door when a pale hand stopped him.
"Gah, you scared me!"
Startled by the hand that had suddenly appeared on the door, Andre opened it and let Rui Qi, Victoria, and Lian inside.
"Why are you so timid?"
Rui Qi looked at Andre, a strange smile on her face.
"You guys don’t make a sound when you walk. If it were you, wouldn’t you be scared?"
Andre retorted irritably.
"Alright, let’s drop it. Did Huo Lin just come by to win you over?"
Victoria closed the door, her amber eyes fixed on Andre. Andre nodded, then his eyes widened in realization.
"Huo Lin tried to recruit you guys, too?"
"Mhm, Cangsen Wizard Academy!"
Vivian nodded and looked toward Victoria and the others.
"Yeah, me too! Me too!"
Victoria, Rui Qi, and Yian nodded as well.
"Huo Lin certainly has a big appetite."
Victoria snorted coldly when she saw that Huo Lin had recommended Cangsen Wizard Academy to all the most talented people from their Qianyuan Subcontinent.
"Is there a problem with that?"
Yian, the other boy, looked at Victoria and asked.
"A big problem. On the White Stone Continent, Cangsen Wizard Academy is considered only a mid-tier Wizard Academy. On the list of the top 50 Wizard Academies, Cangsen Wizard Academy only ranks nineteenth!"
Rui Qi answered Yian’s question in Victoria’s stead.
"I bet these Wizard Apprentices in charge of testing the new blood get a reward for successfully recommending recruits to their own academies!"
Vivian revealed the truth behind why Huo Lin was recommending her own Cangsen Wizard Academy.
"That’s right. And the weaker the Wizard Academy, the higher the reward. As far as I know, if a new recruit with Fifth Level Spiritual Power Talent joins an academy through an apprentice’s recommendation, that apprentice can get a reward of 500 Magic Stones. And they’re Medium Magic Stones, at that."
Victoria stated the number. Seeing that Andre and the others had no reaction, she coughed lightly and continued.
"Medium Magic Stones are what Official Wizards use. Wizard Apprentices use Magic Stones too, but the ones they use are all Elementary Magic Stones."
"A sum of 500 Medium Magic Stones is enough for her to buy an artifact enchanted with a Level 1 Attack Witchcraft."
Only after Victoria finished speaking did Vivian, Yian, and the others understand that Huo Lin was treating them as nothing more than Magic Stones to be traded for an artifact.
"Andre, it seems you already knew about this?"
Rui Qi’s expression changed as she looked at the unresponsive Andre and asked.
"Mhm, I had already guessed," Andre nodded, admitting it directly.
"Since you know, you can’t let her plan succeed,"
Victoria said through gritted teeth. Her ancestors had ruled a Subcontinent. After she was born and the King of Qianyuan discovered her Fifth Level Spiritual Power Talent, she had been treated like the little princess of the family.
Her whole life, she had gotten whatever she wanted. But now, to be treated as a tool for someone to trade for Magic Stones—that was something she absolutely could not tolerate.
If Huo Lin planned to use them as tools to trade for Magic Stones, then she would make sure Huo Lin’s plan failed.
"Especially you, Andre. Your Talent is the best among this batch of new blood. You absolutely cannot give in."
Victoria’s gaze shifted away from Yian, Vivian, and the others, moving to rest solely on Andre, staring at him intently.
"Then what do you want me to do?"
Andre frowned. He was about to ask Victoria how she knew his Talent was the best of the new recruits, but then he realized—the Wizards stationed over the five Subcontinents must all know each other. He quickly changed his tune.
Although Huo Lin was a High Level Wizard Apprentice, she was nothing in the eyes of the King of Qianyuan, a Level 1 Wizard.
"Tell her you’ll consider it."
Victoria said, looking at Andre. She planned to have Andre give Huo Lin the greatest hope, only to then smash that hope to pieces at the Academy Selection Ceremony for the new recruits.
Let her learn that her petty schemes are worthless.
As for whether Huo Lin would retaliate against Andre, Victoria wasn’t worried at all.
Spiritual Power Talent at the Fourth Level Limit, and he had even awakened the Level 2 Talent Witchcraft, the Eye of Truth.
If an Andre with such Talent could be successfully targeted for revenge by someone like Huo Lin, who had been stuck as a High Level Wizard Apprentice for years, then the Wizards of whatever academy Andre chose could just be labeled as incompetent.
Once they wore that label, that Wizard Academy wouldn’t be able to recruit a single new student for at least a hundred years. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"Mmm..." Andre fell silent, and a bad feeling immediately arose in the hearts of both Victoria and Rui Qi.
"You didn’t agree to it, did you?!"
Victoria’s beautiful face showed a trace of anxiety as she stared at Andre with wide, lovely eyes and asked.
"At first, I did promise her I would consider it."
"But then she offered another condition. She said I could become her teacher’s disciple. It was after she made that offer that I gave up on any thought of entering Cangsen Wizard Academy!"
"Perfect! That’s it!"
A smile appeared on Victoria’s face when she heard Andre himself say that he had given up on considering Cangsen Wizard Academy.
"But why did you give up on it?"
Rui Qi’s eyes widened as she asked Andre this question. As a descendant of the King of Qianyuan’s servants, Rui Qi had been by Victoria’s side since childhood. She knew many things about the Wizard World that were kept secret from mortals.
That was precisely why she was a little surprised Andre had made such a choice.
"I just felt she was a bit too desperate. It made me worry that there might be something wrong with her teacher."
Andre didn’t hide anything and stated his thoughts directly.
