Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Pioneering
"Please wait a moment. I’ll send someone to check right now."
Jonathan couldn’t sit still after hearing what Andre said.
This was the King of the Stone People, after all—a War Servant coveted by countless Wizards. With proper nurturing, the King of the Stone People could grow stronger alongside a Wizard.
In the ancient Wizard Ancestral Land, there were several Golden Dominators who had grown to the Realm of a Level 5 Grand Wizard.
Every year, these Golden Dominators would bring immense wealth to their masters. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
What’s more, a Golden Dominator commanded a vast Golden Realm and possessed immense combat strength of its own.
Its advantages were countless, which was why it was one of the most highly esteemed extraordinary races among the many Magical Beasts revered by Wizards.
And now, a King of the Stone People had actually appeared within the territory of the White Sea Wizard Academy. This was a considerable fortune.
"No need to go. A bunch of useless good-for-nothings."
Just then, Radak walked in with a Light Ball in his hand.
"The King of the Stone People. I’ve already captured it for you."
Radak crushed the Light Ball in his hand, and the King of the Stone People, along with its Stone Giant Tribe, appeared before everyone’s eyes.
Instantly, the breathing in the Task Hall grew ragged.
A single Stone Man wasn’t worth much, but an entire tribe—especially a Stone Giant Tribe that had produced a King of the Stone People—was worth over a million Magic Stones.
Once the King of the Stone People successfully advanced to become an Official Wizard and became a King of the Bronze People, its value would double again.
"Now, does this prove what my disciple said?"
Radak stared at Jonathan with a dark expression, while beads of cold sweat broke out all over Jonathan’s forehead.
He had never imagined Radak would value his disciple, Andre, so highly as to personally capture the King of the Stone People and bring it back.
"Andre!" Radak beckoned to him.
"Master!" Andre walked over to Radak’s side, looking at the King of the Stone People that had just been throwing stones at him.
The King of the Stone People’s body was now covered in injuries, which still emanated powerful fluctuations of Witchcraft.
"I’ll keep this King of the Stone People for you. Once you become an Official Wizard, you can come and subdue it. Consider it my gift to you for becoming an Official Wizard."
After speaking, Radak put away the King of the Stone People and the entire Stone Giant Tribe.
Just as Radak had put away the Stone Men and the Stone Giant Tribe, several figures materialized out of thin air in the center of the Task Hall.
"Vice Dean!" The leader of the group was none other than the Shadow of Cyan Thunder, Krell, whom Andre had met before.
Upon seeing Krell, everyone hastily straightened their clothes and bowed to the Vice Dean. Only Radak stopped Andre from doing so.
Krell noted Radak’s action, a flicker of resignation in his eyes, but he didn’t press the matter.
"The territories under the academy’s rule do indeed need to be resurveyed. I am now issuing a new task: map surveying."
With a wave of his hand, a new task appeared at the top of all the mission screens in the Task Hall.
Survey and gather information on the races within the territory ruled by the White Sea Wizard Academy. This included everything from Magical Beasts to extraordinary races like the King of the Stone People. The task would use a point system: the higher the score, the better the reward.
Among the many rewards, the best was an Elementary Witchcraft Artifact. When this reward was revealed, everyone’s gaze was fixed upon it.
This was because the Elementary Witchcraft Artifact was a Defensive Witchcraft Artifact.
Although this Elementary Witchcraft Artifact couldn’t defend against an Official Wizard’s attack, it could, at a critical moment, shatter to block a single attack from an Official Wizard.
Faced with the reward offered by the academy, everyone’s breathing quickened. They all took out their Tokens and began to accept the task.
In an instant, the counters were swamped with people.
Radak then used Witchcraft to accept the task on Andre’s Token as well.
"Go submit it." Radak patted Andre’s shoulder.
Andre nodded and walked toward Jonathan.
Seeing Andre approach, the others gathered around Jonathan immediately cleared a path for him.
Andre went to the counter, wrote down the errors from his previous two missions, and included the number of Magical Beasts in that area before submitting it. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
After the submission was complete, Andre looked at his reward: ten points, which could be exchanged for ten Magic Stones.
But Andre didn’t exchange them for Magic Stones right away; he planned to save up more points.
This was because the rewards for this task included several materials he needed—the main components for constructing a Magic Heart.
"Now, let it begin!"
Krell tapped his Magic Staff on the ground.
As his voice faded, he and the Wizards accompanying him vanished from the Task Hall.
After Krell and his group left, all the Wizard Apprentices went into a frenzy, madly accepting the task.
Once they accepted it, they rushed out and began their search throughout the vast mountain range ruled by the White Sea Wizard Academy.
As word of the task spread, more and more people came to the Task Hall to accept it.
For a time, the Task Hall was packed to the gills, making it extremely difficult to get in or out.
After squeezing his way out of the Task Hall, Andre returned to the Wizard Inheritance Hall to create more Witchcraft Scrolls.
After creating ten scrolls, Andre put them in his backpack and ran toward the stone cave. The King of the Stone People and its Stone Giant Tribe had already been uprooted by his master, so the danger there should be minimal.
Back at the stone cave, Andre began gathering information about the area. Using the cave as his base, he traversed mountains and crossed ridges. When hungry, he ate wild fruit or used a Witchcraft Missile to kill a few Wild Beasts, which he would then roast over a fire. When thirsty, he drank from mountain springs.
He spent ten days in the mountains like this before returning to submit his task.
After obtaining all the materials he needed, Andre returned to the Wizard Inheritance Hall to prepare for his trip to the Secret Realm.
First were a large number of defensive scrolls. After being sealed for 2,600 years, no one knew how many types of Magical Beasts or extraordinary races now existed in Secret Realm No. 1.
Although Secret Realm No. 1 had been refined from a Divine Kingdom Fragment of the Wizard Ancestor, its internal structure had since changed.
It was hard to say whether the Magical Beasts and extraordinary races inside would attack him.
Therefore, to avoid being attacked and getting injured, defensive scrolls were essential.
Next were escape scrolls, and finally, offensive Wizard Scrolls.
During this time, he had learned that his mission in Secret Realm No. 1 was to explore the uncharted territory and map out routes.
Although the task was very risky, the potential rewards were equally great.
This was because he would be among the first group of people to enter Secret Realm No. 1 after it had been sealed for 2,600 years, and any spoils he found inside would be his to keep.
That was what attracted him the most.
