Chapter 1476: Setting the bait
"Which place would have the least amount of benefits to reap?"
This question seemed like it was counter intuitive to what they wanted to do, but Lin Fan knew the reason that Ye Qing Huan was asking Xiao Mu this question.
To be honest, he would have had the same thought as Ye Qing Huan in this situation.
Only, she was the one that was in charge right now.
In that case, all he had to do was support her with everything that he had.
Xiao Mu looked at Ye Qing Huan with a strange look since it didn’t understand why she was asking this. But in the end, it still went through its database and looked at the map to find the pavilion that best suited her.
As soon as Xiao Mu pointed this out, Ye Qing Huan didn’t waste any time heading to that pavilion.
Though when they arrived, they found that this place was actually blocked off.
If it wasn’t for Xiao Mu being here with them, then they wouldn’t have been able to access it at all.
"Can you make it so that others will be able to access this place as well?"
Xiao Mu had to think about this at first, but then it said, "Let me test something."
Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan moved back to give Xiao Mu space, but it turned out that this wasn’t necessary at all. Xiao Mu didn’t actually do anything in the end other than stare at where the pavilion was.
When it was all over, it turned back to say, "I couldn’t have done it before, but I can do it with my enhanced functions." Then after a pause, Xiao Mu turned to look at Lin Fan to say, "Though I do need something from you first."
Lin Fan didn’t need to think to know what Xiao Mu was referring to.
There was only one thing that Lin Fan had that Xiao Mu could be referring to.
"Is it about authority?" Lin Fan couldn’t help asking in the end.
Xiao Mu just gave a small nod to confirm this.
With that, Lin Fan took out the token and handed it over to Xiao Mu without any hesitation.
The relationship between them had gotten much better after their time together in these ruins. So it wasn’t as if there was anything like hesitation between them since they already agreed to be on the same side.
With the token, the barrier slowly seemed to disappear.
It wasn’t like before where they had to follow Xiao Mu into the pavilion, this time the pavilion itself was completely being revealed in front of them. From the way that it revealed itself, it made it quite obvious that this was because of the token.
Though from the way that Xiao Mu held the token, it was also clear that this wasn’t the normal function of the token.
It was only because of Xiao Mu’s increased functionality that it was able to use the token to reveal the pavilion like this.
However, Xiao Mu didn’t completely reveal the pavilion.
Once there was a hole in the barrier that was big enough for them to go through, Xiao Mu stopped what it had been doing. At the same time, the glow that had been around the token faded away.
This barrier didn’t seem like it was closing even though Xiao Mu had stopped what it was doing. It seemed like this was a permanent break in the barrier.
However, it also didn’t seem like there was anything that was coming out from inside of the barrier. With how contained it was, it almost felt like there wasn’t anything that was behind this barrier.
But Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan could both see the pavilion that was there, even if there was a part of it that was still hidden by the barrier that remained.
"How big can you make it?"
"How big do you want it?" Xiao Mu asked back without any hesitation.
From this, it seemed like Xiao Mu really had gained full control of the barrier. Or it was better to say that it had full control through the token.
Since that was the case, there really was no need to hold back at all. Since they were planning on using this as bait, it was best to make it as big as possible.
"Can you release the whole thing?"
It seemed like Xiao Mu was surprised by this, but then there was a smile that appeared on Xiao Mu’s face.
It had clearly been influenced by the two of them if it was developing this kind of bad habit. Not that Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan minded since it was to their benefit to have Xiao Mu like this.
If Xiao Mu was like this, it would support the things that they did and help them with them.
Since everything was prepared, the only thing that was left was for them to take down this barrier to reveal this pavilion to the world.
...
"What is that?"
As soon as that sensation hit them, there wasn’t a single person that remained still.
They could feel the power that was coming from this sensation and they knew that whatever the source of this wasn’t normal. Everyone that felt this knew that if such a thing had appeared, it meant that there was something changing with these ruins.
Which was why they all wanted to be the first to reach the source of this sensation. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
All of them rushed to the pavilion that had suddenly appeared.
When they arrived, they all knew that this was not something that had been here before.
During the time that they had been in the Dao Sect ruins, there were many groups that had explored this place many times. Which was why they were certain that this pavilion hadn’t been here previously.
But it wasn’t as if they could deny the pavilion that was right there in front of their faces.
Since this was a pavilion that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, they knew that something had been triggered in these Dao Sect ruins.
No one was willing to be the first one to test the waters, but it wasn’t as if they could keep waiting forever. After all, the pavilion was there in front of them and there were more and more people that were gathering.
Eventually, there would be enough people gathered that they might not even get a chance.
There was only so much space inside of the pavilion and the ones that had arrived first were the ones that were lucky enough to be nearby. That didn’t mean that they were strong enough to keep their position if enough people gathered.
In the end, it only took a single catalyst for the situation to boil over.
As soon as a single person went forward, the rest of them also moved forward as if they didn’t want anyone seizing the lead.
With the dam broken, there was no stopping all of these people as they charged at the pavilion in front of them.
When they reached the pavilion, they found that there were no locks on the entrance at all. They were able to easily open up the doors of this pavilion and head in.
The problem was that the moment that they entered the pavilion, there were traps that were triggered.
None of the disciples that went forward were able to do anything against these traps. They did what they could, but these traps were just too cunning for them to defend against.
In the blink of an eye, all of the disciples that had entered were sent flying.
At the same time, there were different marks that were left on their bodies.
There wasn’t a single unified mark that was left on their bodies, so no one was able to figure out just what kind of trap had been behind these doors. The only thing that they knew was that there would be traps waiting for them.
Even though it seemed clear, they knew that there would be things hiding in the dark waiting for them.
Which was why none of them dared to move even though the path ahead seemed clear.
It only took a single blow to destroy their confidence.
But it wasn’t as if they would leave this place alone.
They knew that there would be treasures waiting for them since they could sense the aura that was coming out of the pavilion. So it wasn’t as if they could just leave this place alone.
In the end, the only thing that happened was that they were sent flying once more by the traps that were waiting for them.
It really didn’t seem like they would be able to enter the pavilion at all.
"So how long will these traps keep them?"
Lin Fan’s group had been watching the disciples as they tried to break into the pavilion. They had been watching as the disciples were sent flying by the traps that they encountered while trying to break through.
Of course, there wasn’t a single one of them that was surprised by the fact that the disciples were sent flying like this.
This was the reason that Xiao Mu had chosen this pavilion in the first place.
What this place was was nothing more than a trap.
It was a place that would release this powerful aura and give nothing more than ordinary items while also being dangerous because of all the traps that were set here.
This place was supposed to be a trap for greedy people, but now it was bait for the other disciples.
