But the ones that chose to use this method were the ones that were at the bottom of the barrel. Or at least when compared to the other disciples that had entered the Dao Sect ruins.
They were still core disciples of the Five Great Sects, but they were only barely considered that.
Which was why they knew their limits and only did what they could to improve.
The ones that were stronger knew that it was hopeless to do this, so they watched these weaker core disciples charge into the different pavilions. They were using them as cannon fodder to find a way to break through the traps that were set.
It was just that no matter how they tried, they just weren’t able to find a way to break through the traps that were in these arrays.
In a way, they even felt that they were inferior to the ones that kept charging since they were just wasting time observing them.

Which meant that it was inevitable that there would be factions that formed between them.

Which was why those bandit groups were even targeting disciples of the righteous sects. They were doing all that they could to weaken the factions that weren’t their own.
