Chapter 1088: Chapter 1088: This Is Fate
Zhou Qi lazily shifted his body. "We met in junior high. Now he’s one of the key seedlings our math competition teacher is grooming."
Because of some reasons, Zhou Chengchen didn’t go to the same junior high as Zhou Qi. It was only in high school that Zhou Qi came to City No.1 Middle School.
So Xi Siyan and Zhou Qi went to the same junior high?
And he’s a key seedling for the competition teacher, which means Xi Siyan is a top student?
Zhou Chengchen’s eyes lit up, and the little schemes in her heart sprouted like bamboo shoots after the rain.
Zhou Qi gave his sister a weird look. Maybe dragon-phoenix twins really did have some psychic connection. Seeing his own sister’s expression, Zhou Qi instantly understood. He unceremoniously reached out and poked Zhou Chengchen on the forehead. "Cheng Chen, I’m telling you, that guy is not an ordinary person. Watch out you don’t smash into a brick wall."
Zhou Chengchen was still wrapped up in her little schemes, the smile on her face hadn’t faded. For once, she didn’t bother arguing with Zhou Qi about him poking her forehead.
Zhou Chengchen chuckled twice, "hehe."
She just liked smashing into brick walls, just like back then when she clearly knew Sheng Yanxiao liked Su Weiyi, yet still insisted on confessing.
People only live a few decades. The things you want to say and the things you want to do, of course you should say them and do them. Bottling everything up will make you sick.
Back at the Zhou Family home, as soon as she stepped in, Zhou Chengchen sharply caught a whiff of lemon. She didn’t even have time to put down her schoolbag before she dashed to the dining table. There on the table sat a plate of chilled lemon chicken. Zhou Chengchen’s eyes lit up, and she reached straight toward the chicken.
A hand immediately reached over and rapped her on the back of her hand. "Wash your hands. You just got back and you’re already thinking about eating. Hungry?"
Qi Cheng glared at his daughter. Zhou Chengchen just laughed "hehe," hurried upstairs to put down her schoolbag, changed into comfy loungewear and washed her hands, then ran back down.
She directly grabbed a piece of lemon chicken with her hand and popped it into her mouth.
The sour and spicy flavor wasn’t usually what Zhou Chengchen liked, but today she miraculously felt it tasted pretty good.
"Cheng Chen, don’t you not like sour food? How come you’re so interested today?"
An old maid who had been working for the Zhou Family for many years laughed as she spoke. Because she had been there so long and had watched Zhou Chengchen grow up, her attitude was naturally much more affectionate.
Zhou Chengchen still laughed, "hehe." "Grandma Li, this tastes good."
Grandma Li’s face crinkled into a smile. "If it’s good, eat more. You, you’re too skinny."
"Mm-hmm."
After dinner, she went back to her room to do homework. Zhou Chengchen was smart and usually didn’t get distracted when she focused on one thing, so her efficiency was always extremely high. But today, she was rarely absent-minded.
Staring at the test paper in her hand, she thought of the way Xi Siyan had looked doing his test today: one hand occasionally tapping twice on the desk, eyes calm, expression completely focused.
Zhou Chengchen pressed her lips together and couldn’t help laughing out loud. Seriously, he was so handsome it could kill.
She suddenly really looked forward to tomorrow. Once school started, she would get to see him again.
She suddenly felt very grateful that her mother had opposed her going abroad right after junior high, and grateful that her grades were good enough for her to get into City No.1 Middle School, and even more grateful that back then she insisted on not having a seatmate.
Only then did she get to have this encounter with Xi Siyan, to have him as her deskmate.
Do you know what that’s called?
That’s called fate.
The more Zhou Chengchen thought about it, the more excited she became. She completely forgot about all the homework on her desk.
By the time she snapped out of all her wild daydreaming, it was already past ten-thirty, and she hadn’t even finished one test paper.
She hurriedly started scribbling away. She had always had a golden rule: she must go to bed before twelve, whether she finished her homework or not. If she didn’t finish, then she just wouldn’t hand it in.
