Chapter 547: Chapter 546: You’re the Best in My Eyes

Abandoned by her parents since childhood, she grew up in an orphanage.

She did her best to take care of everyone around her, whether it was Aunt Sienna and Ethan, or anyone else.

She was just a girl who had just turned twenty; if her family had the means, she probably would still be a college student acting spoiled with her parents.

But she took on the burdens of life early on, yet she never once complained of hardship or fatigue.

In Archer Quinn’s heart, this version of Bella Acker was the strongest and most endearing.

He wanted to love her well, to protect her, to hold up a piece of sky for her. To give her a place to rest when she was tired.

He also wanted to hold her close right now, to tell her not to cry, and let him take care of her.

But he couldn’t.

He could only stand by her side, watching her cry, not even able to wipe away her tears.

Archer Quinn clenched his fists tightly, wanting so much to rush back into the private room and fight Damian Sinclair again.

Bella Acker didn’t expect his response to be so serious, and instead felt a bit embarrassed, "Senior Quinn, although you said that just to comfort me, I still want to thank you. I do feel comforted."

"I meant it," Archer Quinn said, "Bella, you are wonderful, and anyone who doesn’t cherish you is short-sighted and will regret it later."

"Pfft!" Bella Acker burst into laughter, "Senior Quinn, right now you seem like you’re comforting a heartbroken daughter, as if saying no guy in the world is worthy of my daughter."

Archer Quinn was momentarily stunned. Even though he already knew she only saw him as a friend and wouldn’t read anything more into his words, hearing her say this still made him feel a bitter helplessness.

Archer Quinn sighed, "Yes, exactly. So my daughter must keep her eyes open in the future and find someone who can pass her father’s scrutiny."

"Hehe, don’t worry, Father, your daughter will not disappoint you." Bella Acker laughed again. Joking with him like this shifted her thoughts and greatly improved her mood.

"Feeling better now?" Archer Quinn asked with a smile.

"Yeah, I’m fine now." Bella Acker wiped her tears away and said, "Senior Quinn, you go ahead inside; I’m going to the bathroom to wash my face."

"Let me accompany you."

"Director Simons and the others are waiting to talk to you. I’m just going to wash my face; no need to come with me." Bella Acker waved her hand and walked toward the bathroom.

Archer Quinn watched her figure walk away, let out a silent sigh, then turned and pushed the door open to return to the private room.

Bella Acker carefully washed her eyes at the public sink in the bathroom, trying not to smudge her makeup.

Luckily she hadn’t cried too much earlier, otherwise, her makeup would definitely be ruined, and that would be embarrassing.

As for Damian...

Stop, she couldn’t think about him anymore!

Bella Acker cupped her face with her hands and rubbed hard, looking at herself in the mirror and said, "Bella Acker, you need to pull yourself together, stop overthinking, do you hear me?"

"What are you overthinking?" came a sudden low male voice from behind.

Startled, Bella Acker turned around abruptly, to see Damian Sinclair leaning against the corner of the wall, his eyes deep and fixed on her.

His gaze was very deep, like an endless abyss, making anyone who looked into them feel as though they could never escape.

Bella Acker’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly diverted her gaze, pretending not to have heard his question. She pulled some paper to dry her hands and was ready to leave.
