Chapter 546: Chapter 545: Please Don’t See Him Anymore
Bella lowered her eyes, thinking that his answer was not wrong.
Their relationship was already over, so he was right to say he didn’t have a girlfriend.
Trying to convince herself of this, but still unbearably distressed.
An inexplicable dull pain radiated from her chest, and she had to clench her palms tightly to suppress the discomfort in her heart.
Compared to Bella’s emotional turmoil, the other women in the private room were very happy.
But before they could enjoy their happiness for a second longer, Damian Sinclair added, "I don’t have a girlfriend, but I do have a fiancée."
Bella’s hands trembled slightly on her lap upon hearing this, and she discreetly glanced at him out of the corner of her eye.
She noticed that when he said this, his gaze was fixed straight ahead, not even glancing her way.
Instinctively, Bella raised her hand to touch the necklace around her neck, where she had cleaned and kept the ring she found.
She didn’t dare to wear the ring on her finger anymore, fearing he would notice her pitiful reluctance to let go.
How foolish she was, her heart actually fluttered when she heard him say fiancée, thinking he was referring to her.
They were no longer involved; the fiancée he talked about should be the mother of his child, Cecilia Lynch.
Bella clenched the ring threaded through the necklace tightly, her heart aching in waves.
She was still holding onto memories, still frequently looking back, while he was always more ruthless, more capable of letting go.
She wished she could make herself more resolute, to truly let go once it was over and never be swayed by matters concerning him again. But her heart remained beyond her control.
When he wasn’t there, she could distract herself with other things, but once she saw him, the defensive walls she believed were already up instantly crumbled.
His words, his actions, even just a glance from him could shatter her every attempt at strength.
Don’t see him anymore! Please never see him again!
Her heart really hurt!
Clutching the ring around her neck, Bella lowered her head, her eyes swelling with tears until they brimmed over.
She couldn’t cry! She mustn’t cry! She couldn’t appear so weak and miserable in front of him anymore.
Because... he was no longer someone she could rely on.
He... was no longer hers.
Biting her lower lip, Bella tried desperately to hold back her tears.
"Bella, do you feel like throwing up?" Archer Quinn asked gently beside her.
Bella nodded, and Archer supported her shoulders as he stood up, saying, "Excuse me, Bella feels like she needs to throw up. You guys continue playing games; I’ll take her to the restroom." With that, he helped Bella to her feet and they left the private room together.
With her head bowed, Bella’s tears flowed as soon as they exited the room.
Seeing her this way, Archer’s heart ached for her, yet he could say nothing, only handing her a tissue.
"Thank you." Bella took the tissue to wipe away her tears and murmured, "Senior Quinn, do you think I’m really useless? There are so many things one needs to accomplish in life, yet I’ve made myself so pathetic over a bit of emotional stuff."
"No," Archer replied.
"Hmm?" Bella looked up at him.
Archer looked at her too, his usual gentle smile absent as he seriously said, "I don’t think you’re useless at all. In my heart, you’re more hardworking and stronger than anyone."
