Chapter 201: Chapter 201: Kunlun Divine Pendant

With that, Ge Ye sized up Shen Daoxing and shook his head. "You are not qualified. Give up!"

’What thing? Not qualified for what?’

Shen Daoxing was completely baffled; he hadn’t even had a chance to ask anything.

Just then, however, Ge Ye looked up toward the outside of the study and gave the order to see his guest out. "Lan, show him out!"

"Yes!"

Immediately, the slovenly man walked in, came before Shen Daoxing, and gestured toward the door. "Please."

A faint, intangible power emanated from him. It was clear that if Shen Daoxing refused, he would resort to force.

In the end, Shen Daoxing had no choice but to leave the academy. Yi was still kneeling at the entrance, showing no intention of leaving.

Seeing the determination in Yi’s eyes, Shen Daoxing didn’t leave either. He went to a nearby alley, leaped up lightly, found a spot on an eave to sit, and simply began to cultivate.

’The Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi in Taoyuan Town is several times richer than in the Daqian Empire. It would be a complete waste not to take advantage of it. I can’t miss this rare opportunity.’

The Celestial Yang rose and set, and time flowed on.

Shen Daoxing lost track of how many days had passed. Yi was still kneeling before the academy’s entrance, his eyes clear and his resolve unshaken.

From the rooftop not far away, Shen Daoxing’s routine was just as unchanging: aside from bringing Yi some food, he spent his days meditating and cultivating.

Thanks to Taoyuan Town’s unique advantages, his cultivation had progressed significantly after just a few days.

Inside the academy, the slovenly man watched the two of them outside day after day. He seemingly couldn’t bear it any longer and approached Ge Ye, speaking softly, "Master, are you really going to let them stay out there? Why don’t you just accept the boy?"

Ge Ye merely glanced outside and said flatly, "Let them be."

Since that was his response, the slovenly man didn’t dare say more.

On this day, the melodious sounds of reading aloud echoed from within the academy. Shen Daoxing and Yi were still at the entrance.

But at that moment, two new faces appeared on the street.

An old man and a youth.

They were the same old man and youth Shen Daoxing had seen on his first day in Taoyuan Town.

The pair walked to the academy entrance, apparently intending to go inside for a visit.

The richly-dressed youth saw Yi kneeling at the entrance and frowned. "Where did this country bumpkin come from? Can’t you see I’m trying to go in? Get lost!"

As he spoke, he viciously kicked out, knocking Yi to the ground.

Seeing this, Shen Daoxing, on the nearby rooftop, frowned. He glanced toward the academy but chose not to intervene.

After being knocked down, Yi silently got back up, returned to his original spot, and knelt once more.

This seemed to thoroughly enrage the young master, who flew into a fury. "You rotten brat, are you doing this on purpose?"

With that, he raised his foot to kick Yi again.

This time, however, his foot froze in mid-air because an Eight Trigrams Plate in his hand had begun to glow.

The young master couldn’t help but light up with joy. "There’s treasure here!"

He immediately craned his neck, looking around for something.

But after searching for a while, the young master found nothing.

This inevitably displeased him. He then looked back at Yi. Suddenly, as if he’d discovered something, his eyes lit up. He ran up to Yi, felt around his chest, and pulled out the Jade Pendant that Shen Daoxing had hidden there.

The young master was instantly overjoyed. He turned to the old man beside him, his face flushed with excitement. "Wei, it’s the Kunlun Divine Pendant! It’s said to be a divine relic left in our world by the ancient Kunlun Great God. It contains the world-destroying Kunlun Power! If I can obtain it, I’ll surely become a great power who can Dominate One’s Domain in the future!"

The old man at his side was instantly delighted. "Congratulations, Young Master! Congratulations! Your fortune is a gift from the heavens for you to encounter such a divine relic here. Young Master, your future accomplishments will surely surpass the Duke’s!"

The young master then looked at Yi. "Kid, I’ll give you one thousand Gold Coins. Sell me this Jade Pendant!"

Yi snatched the Jade Pendant from the young master’s hand and stuffed it back inside his clothes to hide it. "Not for sale! This is what my dad left for me! Not for sale!"

The young master’s expression changed instantly. "Then I’ll offer two thousand Gold Coins."

"Not for sale! Not for sale! This is what my dad left me. I won’t sell it no matter how much you offer."

Yi shook his head like a rattle-drum, refusing adamantly.

The young master flew into a rage, grabbing Yi by the collar. "You damn brat, what did you say? There’s nothing this young master wants that he can’t get. Don’t make me do this the hard way!"

"Not for sale! Not for sale! How could I ever sell what my dad left me!"

Yi just kept shaking his head.

Instantly, the young master’s face darkened, turning extremely nasty. "You’re courting death!"

With that, he swung his fist to hit Yi.

"SIGH~"

Just then, the old man at his side reached out and stopped him. "Young Master, let’s not be hasty!"

As he spoke, the old man fumbled in his robes, pulled out an emerald-green jade pendant, and put on an amiable expression. "Little one, what I have here is a treasure of the Immortal Family, a Jade Sea Pendant. If you wear it for a long time, it has the effect of strengthening your body. It’s no worse than the pendant you have. How about we trade?"

Although Yi had always lived in his village and rarely went out, he wasn’t stupid. He shook his head stubbornly. "No! No! This is the Jade Pendant my dad left me! How can it be compared to what you have in your hand? No! No!"

Saying this, Yi shoved the young master away and clutched his chest with both hands, terrified they would try to snatch his Jade Pendant by force.

"You rotten brat!"

Instantly, the old man’s amiable expression vanished, replaced by an extremely malicious one. "Do you have any idea who we are? Crushing you would be as easy as crushing an ant. Know what’s good for you. Hand over that Jade Pendant obediently."

Yi was startled and hugged his chest even tighter, but his head still shook like a rattle-drum.

The young master pouted in dissatisfaction. "Wei, why are you still wasting your breath on him? Since he’s not willing, just kill him and we’ll take the Jade Pendant."

Seeing that Yi stubbornly refused to yield, even when threatened, the old man shook his head. "Kid, you’re courting death!"

With that, the old man abruptly raised his hand. A sharp, powerful energy gathered in his palm as he struck toward Yi.

On the rooftop, Shen Daoxing glanced into the academy. Seeing no sign that anyone inside was going to intervene, he could no longer hold back. He swiped a hand across his waist.

A flash of black light.

At the academy entrance, the old man was about to bring his palm down on Yi’s head.

WHOOSH!

A piercing whistle cut through the air.

A blood-curdling chill suddenly rose in the old man’s heart. Startled, he quickly retracted his striking hand, grabbed the young master beside him, and leaped backward.

BOOM!

A massive, dark greatsword slammed down, sending out a dazzling burst of sparks and a spray of shattered stone.

A large crater now appeared where the two had been standing.
