Chapter 8: Cultivate To Peak Stage

Evan and the other five people had now entered the Vampire Sect, where Evan was supposed to be living, or at least till when the system says so.

Of course other than he himself nobody knew about the system.

The sect from inside looked like Victorian England. It had the same kind of houses and markets like Evan had studied in his history books.

The main thing that Evan was concerned about was what Ella had just said to him right now.

Not being to hold it within himself any more he finally decided to ask her about it

’Ella... as you know I have lost my memory so I don’t actually remember who non-magical people are.’

’Oh of course, well there are two worlds in a single planet, one belongs to non-magical people and the other belongs to magical ones. Of course, we live in the magical world. And the two worlds are connected through rift portals.’

’As of the blood that is flowing in the whole sect, it is given by the leader of non-magical people every year, in an agreement that we would not attack the non-magical world.’

’Of course other sects demand other things. Like the Spectral’s demand 120 buffaloes every year for their rituals.’

’They give us the blood of what they call "criminals", which we "the magical people" call sinners.’

Evan listening to Ella’s explanation finally seemed to relax a bit, even though he felt what the government was doing for security was not good.

However, when he put himself in their shoes he knew this was the most balanced option. Otherwise, the Human race would not be able to last even a week.

’We have reached the guest house Evan.’, said Harry who had started to talk like a friend now.

The guest house was giant, dusty-pink puzzle of a building. It did not just have walls, rather it had corners, pop-outs, and a massive circular tower on the right side that looked like something out of a storybook.

Up on the second floor of that tower, there was a tiny, rounded porch with white pillars, perfect for someone to sit and watch the outside view, while staying hidden in the shadows. The roof was a steep, messy collection of dark brown peaks pointing at the sky.

While, The bottom of the house sat on a heavy base of rough grey stones.

’It is beautiful.’, these words left Evan’s mouth before he knew.

Ella smiled hearing this and Harry simply nodded.

’Well Evan you shall go and do some rest, take this card and he would show you your room, there are two days remaining till the sunlight day.’ Harry said while giving a blackish-gray card to Evan.

’May I ask what the sunlight day is?’, Evan said to Harry with a questioned expression.

’On every second Tuesday of a month the sun shines brightly in this area, and because of the immense sunlight our bodies get weakened.’

’I will make sure to ask the Sect Elders about your joining before then.’, Harry added.

’Brother you have not even asked him, if he wants to join or not.’, said Ella with her eyes wide opened.

Harry chuckled and said

’Evan do---’

’Yes of course I will.’, Evan replied before Harry had completed his sentence, because he thought it would make a good impression.

’See, we boys know what the other likes.’, Harry said to Ella.

Ella smiled hearing this, there was a long silence as if they were waiting for someone to say something.

Harry pressed his eyes and said

’Please leave me and Evan alone, I have got some business with him.’

’But brother---’, Ella said desperately but before she could complete her sentence, Harry said

’Ella, it’s an order!’

’I understand.’, she said leaving with the other four guards.

Harry sighed and shook his head

’You shouldn’t have done that, I mean if it isn’t that much confidential there should not have been any problem.’, Evan said.

’You don’t understand... anyway lets get inside the guest house.’

He simple nodded and walked along with Harry inside the guest house.

They both went to the receptionist, where the reception looked exactly the same as from the normal Earth that Evan lived in, but a bit old and luxury.

’Please show your card, my lord.’, a beautiful blonde female receptionist said.

Evan took out the card that Harry had previously given him and showed it to the receptionist.

’We only have three rooms available right now... would you like a king sized bed or a normal one.’

Evan was shocked hearing this, he never thought people would be living here.

’Do you mistake us for mortals, girl?’, Harry said angrily.

’It’s alright Harry, it is not a big deal.’

’Room number twenty four, here is the key.’, the receptionist who looked rather scared now said.

He took the key from her and went to his room along with Harry.

The room was anchored by a massive hard reddish brown king sized bed whose hand carved canopy loomed like a wooden monument over layers of soft plum silk.

Sunlight entered through tall, divided-pane windows, illuminating the rich grain of the honey-colored oak floors and the very detailed scrollwork of the heavy, floor-to-ceiling curtains.

An elegant cream-colored chaise longue sat between the windows, offering a quiet vantage point beside the serpentine front dressers that glowed with a deep, antique patina.

From the recessed paneling of the ceiling to the warm amber glow of the bedside lamps, the space felt thick with the quiet gravity of a bygone era, preserved in cedar and velvet.

Harry, meanwhile, sat down on the bed.

’Please stand, don’t sit.’, he said.

Evan was confused hearing what Harry had said, but he was scared at the same time, even though he was almost on the brink of death while facing the Half-dead captain he was still scared of death, just like other people.

’Can you show me your aperture... Close your eyes and feel that all of your body’s energy is gathering at a specific point, that is your lower belly, that visualize it outside your body, only then will I be able to distinguish if you are a Mortal or a cultivator.’

Evan did as he was told and soon enough, something shaped like a football came out of his body.

As it did, he felt a heavy spiritual weight inside him get out of his body.

He opened his eyes to see a transparent silver football like thing, he saw that it had a reddish liquid inside it covering 90 percent of the aperture.

Harry was rather shocked seeing Evan’s aperture and said excitedly as if he was waiting for Evan his whole life

’You have an A-rank talent for cultivating!’

There are five ranked talents, with the highest being S-Rank that is if a person has more than 95 percent of his aperture filled, A-Rank if an aperture is filled more than 80 percent, B-Rank if an aperture is filled more than 65 percent, C-Rank if an aperture is filled more than 50 percent, D-Rank if an aperture is filled more than 35 percent, and if it is filled less than 35 percent the person is a Mortal who can not cultivate, if he tries to do so he will die.’

Other than these talents, there are also main ranks and stages to which a cultivator advances, however, these are topics for another day, for now I will tell you that you are a middle stage Vampire Fledgling that means you are in the middle stage of the first rank in simple terms.’

Evan memorized what Harry had just explained to him as he found some loopholes, the system gave a notification

’I think I would want to cultivate to Peak stage, can you tell me how to do it?’, said Evan, however he instantly regretted it because he had lost all his memories, according to Harry and the others.

So to keep up the act, he showed that he is shocked and said

’Wait I seem to regain some of my memories... I have a wife and three children.’

’I see--I am sorry...’, said Harry with a saddened expression.

’Wait, why did I say three children and? I’m digging a hole for myself.’, Evan thought

’It’s all right.’, said Evan

’First of all you have to know that there are three stages, the three stages are Basic, Middle and Peak.’

’Imagine the Qi inside your aperture hitting the walls of the aperture, when the walls crack and break down and another layer that would look dark silver would form.’, Harry continued

’However, this process would take two weeks if you cultivate for 12 hours each day, I am a B-Rank Talent and it took me one month to reach Peak Stage Vampire Fledgling.’

Hearing this, Evan got to knew how huge the difference between one talent and the other.

’If you feel that your aperture is feeling heavy with Qi, suck the energy from these blood stones and it will become light.’, Harry said taking red colored stones out of the pocket of his white robes.

’I shall be going right now, I will personally give an order that nobody comes inside your room other than giving food, so you can cultivate properly, I shall visit you tomorrow again at noon.’

’Oh and yes, there are techniques we do too... by using blood worms, i will tell you about them tomorrow.’

Harry got out of the room, closing the door.

’Status.’, Evan willed in his mind ƒreewebɳovel.com
