Chapter 10: Cunning
’So Harry, you think he would be a great asset to us?’ an elderly man said. He had wrinkles all over his face and had blackened area under the eyes, as if the last time he slept was near a month ago.
’Yes, Lord Elder I do think the outsider would be of great help to us... though his intelligence is not superior, he still has an A-Rank talent for cultivating.’, Harry replied, but he did not look the same as when he was in the presence of Evan, rather it looked like he had a thirst in his eyes which he had been holding for a long time.
’Hehehehe, you are really cunning, sometimes it even makes me a bit afraid.’, the Elder said running his fingers through his long white beard that reached the chest.
Harry smiled hearing this, as he was a man who loved to be praised for his cunningness.
’Well as it is you Harry, I shall accept it, though I still doubt whether that kid would give his loyalty to us or not.’ freewёbnoνel.com
The candles lighting the hall made up of stones flickered.
Had Evan seen the hall, he would have described it as a demon’s lair, because it had a deep purple inverted Pentagram in the middle.
Other than the candles and the Pentagram there was nothing to be seen due to the dark atmosphere.

’Ah man I had a great sleep.’, said Evan stretching himself on his bed, today was his last day in the guest house as he would be living in the dormitories of the academy from now on.

’Yeah I know I have not done it yet... man it is harder than I thought.’
’Though, even I myself do not know why I have joined this sect -- to be honest if just feels as if---as if there is a connection between this Sect and me myself.’
This was true, Evan was now feeling that there was was a connection between this sect and he himself.
It was as if he had finally found a place called Home, because his parents died when he was just three years old due to an attack by the "Half-deads."
And from when he was three, his uncle and aunt had raised him not because of love but because of the huge share of money his parents had left, because there was a huge breakout of poverty because of the apocalypse of the Half-Deads.
However, putting emotional matters aside, there was another reason and probably the main one because Evan was not really sure about this feeling, but he felt a Blood Lust, as if he wanted to drink blood.
And apparently the cure for it was available here, not only through one way but rather two.
The first one was to drink the Modified blood flowing throughout the sect, however there were also other elements added in it to multiply the quantity of blood otherwise if the sect wanted to make natural blood flow through out the sect they would require more than a million humans!.
The second one was to suck energy from the Blood stones that were used as the currency in this sect, it was something he had only get to know of yesterday.
Blood stones not only increased the density of the Qi but also decreased the strange feeling, the Blood Lust.
So he decided that once he reached the level of a Core-disciple like Harry, he would visit the non-magical or rather "The Earth"... the normal one.
’I wonder what is going in the non-magical world.’
’Man i’m getting hungry, curse this waiter, I had told him that I will be attending the academy from today, yet he still does not understand’
’Maybe I should go and teach him bit of a lesson, damn Mortal.’, said Evan jokingly.

Three old timers, all with the same long white beard and bald head wearing black robes with golden stripes sat on what looked like like couches made up of the skin of animals, the room lit by five to six candles
Meanwhile, All of them had wines on the table in front of them.
’Lord Elder Xuan, you suggest we admit a boy who likely walks the Abyss Path? It is unacceptable. If the Supreme Leader found out, we would be executed without a second thought for defying the Laws of "The Court of the Divine".’
In this world there were three different paths a cultivator could choose the first one was the Paradise Path, that included people who are under a proper sect that is recognized by the court of the divine, and complete all the missions assigned to them, so technically these people were "the good guys."
The second path was the Abyss path, it included people who are traitors to the court of the divine, meaning they went against the system. They operate alone so that they can cultivate easily with freedom, so they were "the bad guys."
The third path was rather interesting, is was called the Bordered path, it consisted of people who operated alone but were recognized by a sect so that their cultivation could be safe and easy without ever needing to do any missions other than a huge emergency, so they were neither "the good guys" not "the bad ones".
Meanwhile, Lord Elder Xuan sighed and said
’Elder Darcy, you worry too much and it is not like I personally want to favor the boy. However that boy is important for the sect.’
’And how is that so?’ the third old timers demanded.
’Elder Levi...That boy you see has an A-Rank talent for cultivating.’
Just as these words left Elder Xuan’s mouth the expression that covered the face of the elders previously had changed, from annoyed to a shocked one.
Well who wouldn’t be shocked to see a person with an A-Rank talent for cultivating, the last man who had an A-Rank talent was born into the Vampire Sect 210 years ago and he was now their Supreme Leader.
The highest Rank for cultivating talent possible from a long amount of time was B-Rank, the ones with B-Rank were already considered confirmed to become at least a Sect Elder.
Meanwhile, the last Vampire S-Rank talent was born 700 years ago and now he was one of the highest ranking officials in "The Court Of The Divine." Because as soon as they (the officials in the court of the divine) get a report of a S- Rank talent they take it from their parents and raise the kid on their own. Suggesting that a normal person was not elligible to raise such a person.
’Elder Xuan can you assure that he will be loyal to the sect.’, said Levi
’My right hand man has seemed to make him his friend, hehehehe, of course I can guarantee the loyalty.’
As he said so, a person came out of the shadows, white hair and red eyes, it was someone none other than Harry.
