After an hour, the emergency room door finally opened. Mr. York and Yonina rushed towards the doctor and said at the same time:
"Doctor, how is Mr. Lucas?"
"Is Mr. Lucas okay now?"
The doctor pulled down his surgical mask and said, "Mr. Lucas’s condition is stable now. However, he will only come around about two hours later."
The doctor could finally put his mind at ease as well. After all, Michael was a big shot in the country. If anything were to happen to him, his career would be at risk too.
After hearing what the doctor said, both Yonina and Mr. York breathed a sigh of relief.
Yonina continued to ask, "What caused him to be unconscious all of a sudden?"
"Severe strain resulting from exhaustion and lack of sleep led him to suffer from hypoglycemia where his blood sugar level is lower than normal. Moreover, the alcoholic overdose today worsened his condition. Hence, he fainted just now." The doctor continued, "However, you don’t have to worry too much about it. He will be fine after he rests for a few days. But he shouldn’t overwork himself as his body might not be able to take the pressure. You may try to talk to him later and ask him to take better care of himself. Everything is pointless if one loses his health."
"Thank you, doctor. We will talk to him," said Yonina as she nodded her head slightly to indicate her gratitude.
Michael was then transferred to the ward. Of course, Yonina and Mr. York stayed by his side after that.
Yonina felt heartbroken as she looked at Michael’s pale face. After all, she had had a crush on this man. If not for Wendy, who’d returned alive, perhaps she would have already married Michael.
However, life was always unpredictable. Yonina knew clearly how important Wendy was in Michael’s heart. She would not entertain these wishful thoughts anymore. She was a rational person, and she would never let her emotions dictate her decisions.
Since Michael already had someone he loved, Yonina would only be the one who got hurt if she insisted on this relationship. Yonina sighed imperceptibly and said to Mr. York, "I am going to make a call outside. Let me know once he is awake."
"All right," Mr. York nodded. He could guess who Yonina was going to call right now.

"Michael has been admitted to the hospital. His condition looks bad," Yonina added purposely. "He went to Rheinsville City to look for Wendy the day before yesterday. He seemed to be carried away ever since he came back. Today, he drank a whole bottle of red wine and had to be admitted to the hospital. I presume that Wendy must have said something to Michael."
"Got it," Christian hung up the call instantly.
In fact, he knew Michael had gone to Rheinsville City to look for Wendy.

"Ms. Collins, why did you call me at this hour? Is there anything important?" Wendy sat up to turn on the bedside lamp. She felt more awake now after yawning.
Yonina Collins did not have any kind of close relationship with her. Therefore, she must have something important to tell her to be calling at this hour. Wendy knew that Yonina was not someone who would call her on a whim.
"Indeed, I have something important to say to you. However, since it’s the middle of the night now, I shall not be bothering you on this. You may call me after you wake up later," said Yonina.
"I am fine. You may speak now," said Wendy as she blinked her eyes, "I am already awake."
"Well then," said Yonina as she pursed her lips. She squeezed her phone and said, "I know that Mr. Lucas went to Rheinsville City the day before yesterday to look for you. I roughly know what you’ve said to him too."
"So?" asked Wendy.
"I just wanted to say something on behalf of Mr. Lucas..." said Yonina. "Although I do not agree with him for hiding something from you and deceiving you, I am pretty sure that he did it for your own good. He did not want you or your children to be harmed. Of course, the way he went about it was wrong. I understand why you are angry at him. However, I just feel that if you still have some affection for Mr. Lucas, you should spare some thought for him and try not to be too harsh."
"Ms. Collins, are you trying to patch us back? If I’m not wrong, you are three months pregnant with his child. Am I right?" Wendy sneered, "Don’t you wish to have a complete family when your child is born?"
Wendy and Yonina did not really know each other well. However, she knew that Yonina was in a partnership with Michael. Therefore, she trusted her.
Wendy said it out loud on purpose, knowing that they were in cahoots, because she still didn’t understand why Yonina had called her at this hour.
"Ms. Stewart, I think Michael has explained everything to you. We are only business partners. There is really nothing else between us. Therefore, I am not pregnant at all. The so-called child was just a lie made up by Christian to force Michael into holding accountability to me. He... he doesn’t love me at all."
Yonina said with a hard smile, "He just wanted to protect you and the children from harm. He wanted you all to leave this dangerous place and go as far away as possible. He never expected that HG Enterprise would belong to Christian too. After Michael knew about Christian’s plot, he played along to cooperate with me instead. "Are you really so heartless, Ms. Stewart? Michael hasn’t slept for days after coming back from Rheinsville City. Wendy took a deep breath. In fact, she did trust Yonina. Yonina was smart; she would definitely choose not to be threatened when there was a chance for her to fight back after being used. Moreover, Michael had mentioned to her that he had an alliance with Yonina.
"Let me tell you why I can’t leave HG Enterprise," said Wendy slowly. "I knew long ago that you and Michael were allies. I also knew that he sent me off purposely. Do you remember the night I called you? I asked you if you would wake Michael up if you answered the call."
Upon hearing it, Yonina widened her eyes, "Don’t tell me that you were trying to bait me that night?"
Yonina had not realized it until now. Wendy was indeed a smart person.
"That’s right. I knew about your partnership even then," said Wendy, "Therefore, I requested for HG Enterprise’s shares on my own account and chose to stay in HG Enterprise too. Do you get what I mean now?"

She and Michael thought that Wendy had gone to HG Enterprise out of anger to help Christian take revenge on Michael, as he’d deceived her in the first place.

In the past, she’d thought that Wendy did not deserve Michael’s love. But now, Yonina felt that Michael was so lucky to have Wendy as his wife.
"But..." Yonina continued after a moment of silence. "Aren’t you in a dangerous position now? What will happen to you if Christian finds out about this?"
"I will be extra careful," said Wendy. "I feel that there are some internal issues with HG Enterprise. However, I am not able to attend the board meeting yet. At first, I just wanted to ignore Michael and seek your help at a later time. I didn’t expect Michael to end up in such a state."
"Neither did I. Michael was never a weakling," Yonina laughed. She felt more relaxed now as she continued, "Don’t worry about him. The doctor said that he was fine. He will need to rest for a few days, that’s all. Since you know everything and don’t blame him at all, then I will tell him when he wakes up."
"I have not forgiven him yet. I just hated Christian and wanted to see him get his just desserts." Wendy then continued, "Since we have the same enemy, we might have a chance to be allies one day."

If your Moonlight project can be released to the market in time, I bet that four billion dollars would not be a big problem for him."
"Let him win the bidding," Wendy said firmly.
