Chapter 275: Put It On Your Ring Finger

Wendy lowered her head and looked at the ring from Christian in her hand.

She then promptly walked over to the trash bin and quickly tossed the ring.

Wendy turned to leave, but she hesitated and retrieved the ring from the bin.

Christian had her ring.

If she threw his ring out, he might use it as an excuse and refused to return her ring.

Wendy only managed to fall asleep very late at night.

Other than Michael, Leah, and Jake, she kept thinking about Christian.

She was surprised by his arrival in Rheinsville City.

The next day, Wendy woke up when her alarm rang.

This time, she could only go back home for two days. She mainly wanted to see Michael and her children, so she did not pack a lot of luggage.

Wendy had washed up and was preparing to leave when she heard the doorbell.

Wendy wondered who could be visiting at this hour.

She opened the door to see Todd standing outside, dressed in a suit.

He smiled as he said, "I’m here to send you to the airport."

Todd glanced at Wendy’s luggage and said, "I see I came at the perfect time. If I came any later, you would have probably left."

"You did not have to come." Wendy felt a little bad. "You have already helped me a lot recently. I can take a cab to the airport."

"Let’s go..." Todd did not wait for Wendy to say more and reached his hand to take her luggage.

Since Todd was insistent, she stopped refusing his offer and thanked him.

After Todd sent Wendy to the airport, he handed her the luggage and said, "Call me if you need help."

The moment Todd finished his sentence, he felt it sounded inappropriate.

In the past, it might not have mattered, but Wendy had a family of her own now, so it was simply not right.

Todd smiled and added, "I meant if you need my help, I’m always here for you. After all, we’ve been friends for years. I know that if ever I’m in need, you’ll be happy to help as well."

"Of course." Wendy smiled as she nodded.

She waved her hand at Todd. "Bye." freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Wendy turned to board the flight.

She wanted to send Michael a text message after she boarded the flight, but she recalled his phone was broken and she did not know if he had gotten a new one.

Also, she wanted to surprise them.

Hence, she decided to go straight home to see them.

The moment Wendy thought about the looks on the children’s faces when they saw her, she smiled happily.

Leah might end up crying because of happiness.

The plane was about to take off, and an announcement was made over the PA system, informing the passengers to turn their mobile devices to airplane mode.

Wendy then sat at her seat with nothing to do.

She randomly took a magazine to read. Since she was on a flight to Lake City, the business magazine was about Lake City.

There was only a handful of famous entrepreneurs in Lake City, and she was familiar with them: Michael, Christian, and Yonina.

Yonina could not compare to Christian and Michael in terms of business.

However, she was a hardworking and pretty woman.

Collins Group was one of the top 10 corporations in Lake City, so she was a hot topic in business sections.

Wendy casually flipped through the magazine.

The first page was a business article about Michael. Even without reading it, Wendy could already guess what it was about.

It was probably about his excellent business acumen and great leadership at MC Enterprise.

Wendy read some more. Sure enough, she saw some news about Yonina.

Wendy read through the article about Yonina. Yonina was the deputy CEO of Collins Group. The article praised her for her good looks and excellent business acumen and talked about Collins Group.

Wendy had been in Rheinsville City and was busy working on her project, so she did not have time to keep up with what’s going on in Lake City.

She did not expect Collins Group to be on the brink of bankruptcy in just a month.

After Wendy finished reading, she reached for her phone to check for more news online about Collins Group’s current situation.

The moment she took out her phone, she realized it was in flight mode, so she put it away.

Since Wendy had nothing to do, she took out another magazine to read.

After some time, Wendy needed to use the bathroom, so she got up and headed over.

Wendy returned from the bathroom to see someone sitting by the window, with his head leaning against the window with his eyes closed.

Although Wendy could not see his face, she recognized him immediately.

She walked over angrily and said, "Christian?"

Christian turned his head without the slightest surprise on his face.

He crossed his arms as he smiled and said, "What a coincidence."

Wendy certainly did not believe it was a coincidence.

She extended a hand towards Christian and said coldly, "Give me back the ring!"

"I already tossed it out." Christian glanced at Wendy’s hand and noticed she was not wearing anything.

Wendy was not wearing the ring he gave her.

Then again, how could Wendy possibly wear it?

"Have you thrown it out?" Wendy did not believe him. She said even more angrily, "Christian, everyone has a temper. If you push me too far, I will make sure that you regret it and you won’t enjoy it."

"I haven’t had a good day in ages." Christian smiled even more profoundly.

"Does that mean you haven’t thrown it out?" Wendy looked at him angrily as she said, "You had better give it back to me. Don’t force me to call the police as soon as I get off the flight." freewebnoveℓ.com

"You lost your ring in Rheinsville City, but you want to report it to the police in Lake City?" Christian scoffed. "Do you think the cops in Lake City will care?"

"You..." Wendy was exasperated. "What do you want?"

"Put on the ring I gave you. Once I am happy, I will return your ring to you." Christian raised his brow slightly.

"Christian, are you crazy?" Wendy felt completely helpless. For a moment, she did not know what to say. "I think you should visit a doctor."

Wendy did not wait for Christian to respond. She immediately returned to her seat.

She rummaged through her bag for the ring that Christian had given her.

Wendy went back to Christian’s seat and threw the ring on him. "I’m giving this ring back to you. Can you please return mine?"

"I told you to put it on. Once I’m happy, you can have your ring," Christian replied casually.

He picked up the ring and handed it to Wendy.

Wendy knew it was impossible to get to him.

All she had to do was put it on.

Fine. She would wear it.

Wendy took the ring and put it on her index finger.

"Are you happy now?" Wendy raised her hand and showed it to Christian.

"Put it on your ring finger on your left hand," Christian ordered.

Only wedding rings were worn on the ring finger on the left hand.

Why did Christian want her to put it on that finger? Wendy thought that Christian was out of his mind.

Christian then flashed her a smirk and warned, "If you don’t put it on your ring finger on your left hand, you won’t get what you want."
