Chapter 705: Chapter 705: Capturing the Ice Silkworm Again

"Cough, cough. Sorry, sorry. It really wasn’t intentional," Lin Kuang apologized again via Sound Transmission before turning around. His gaze landed on the Ice Silkworm that was devouring Zhe Leaves.

"Zilian, are there any good ways to capture this Ice Silkworm?" Lin Kuang asked via Sound Transmission, his eyes fixed on the creature.

"There aren’t any particularly good methods," Tian Zilian replied via Sound Transmission after a moment of thought. "But the Ice Silkworm is a highly venomous creature, so whatever you do, don’t let your bare hands touch its body. Try to envelop it entirely with your True Qi."

"Alright, I’m going in," he said via Sound Transmission, nodding lightly.

The next moment, Lin Kuang took a deep breath and pushed his Extreme Shadow Illusion to its limit. In a flash, he appeared right in front of the Ice Silkworm. Simultaneously, he thrust his palm forward without hesitation. A dense layer of True Qi enveloped his hand as he lunged for the creature.

However, the Ice Silkworm was incredibly slick. The moment Lin Kuang rushed over, it sensed the danger. Its seven-inch-long body coiled into a ball and instantly dropped from the Nethercold Zhe Leaf it was on. Its speed was astonishing, even faster than Lin Kuang’s own strike, leaving him stunned.

This thing is that fast? It’s way too fast! he thought in disbelief.

But Lin Kuang didn’t waste a second. As the Ice Silkworm fell, he unleashed a surge of True Qi from his palm. His plan was simple: use his True Qi to envelop and capture the silkworm.

His True Qi did indeed envelop the Ice Silkworm, but to his shock, the creature’s body suddenly emitted a faint luminescence. The moment the glow flared, it broke through the binding of his True Qi. The Ice Silkworm then landed on the ice below and burrowed straight into it.

Lin Kuang was stunned. He hadn’t expected the Ice Silkworm to be so troublesome; its speed and ability to break through his True Qi were simply unbelievable.

"Sigh. To think I let a little thing like that get away. Dammit!" Lin Kuang muttered, his tone frustrated and angry. He had thought he could capture the Ice Silkworm, wrap things up, and head back to the East Sea, but his hopes were dashed.

Tian Zilian, who had been watching all along, stepped forward.

"Brother Lin, don’t worry," she said, gently consoling him. "If the Ice Silkworm were that easy to catch, others would have gotten to it long before we did. We didn’t get it this time, but there will be other chances. Don’t be angry."

Her words startled him for a moment. He thought about it and realized she was right. If the Ice Silkworm could be captured so easily, the opportunity would never have fallen to him.

"You’re right. I was too impatient," Lin Kuang said, as much to himself as to her. "We still have a chance. We’ll take it slow."

"Yes. The Ice Silkworm is probably on high alert now. Should we come back tomorrow?" Tian Zilian asked softly.

Lin Kuang nodded. "Good idea. We’ll come back tomorrow. As long as the Nethercold Zhe Tree is here, the Ice Silkworm won’t go far."

Tian Zilian breathed a sigh of relief at his agreement. "Alright, let’s head back for now."

Lin Kuang nodded, and the two of them left the Blood Cave. Back on the snowy plains, they sped toward the Heavenly Mountain Sect on their wooden boards, returning late at night.

They both returned to their respective rooms to rest. Sitting on his bed, Lin Kuang closed his eyes and began to cultivate, calming the restless emotions in his heart.

I have to be patient. I still have several months. Even if I don’t catch the Ice Silkworm today, there’s tomorrow, and the day after that. I will definitely catch it! Lin Kuang reassured himself, and his mood gradually stabilized.

The night passed peacefully.

「The next morning.」

Lin Kuang woke up early. After quickly washing up, he stood outside his room, gazing out at the Heavenly Mountain Sect. He had been too busy before to take a close look at the sect. Now that he did, he was astonished. The entire Heavenly Mountain Sect was like a manor made of ice and snow. Aside from the beds, chairs, and other furniture, nearly every structure was carved from ice. The sight was both spectacular and magical.

It truly lives up to its name, Lin Kuang mused, admiring the majestic sight. To be able to build something like this out of ice is truly impressive.

"It is impressive, isn’t it? But do you know how long it took our Heavenly Mountain Sect to build this manor of ice and snow?" Tian Zilian’s voice suddenly sounded nearby. Lost in admiration, Lin Kuang hadn’t even noticed her approach.

"Oh, Zilian, you’re here." Lin Kuang was slightly startled. He had been so engrossed in the view that he hadn’t seen her coming at all.

"Yes, I just arrived," she said, her voice filled with pride as she gazed at the architecture around them. "It took our Heavenly Mountain Sect nearly a century to build this manor to its current scale. The hardships were immense, but these buildings are our greatest pride."

Lin Kuang nodded. He could only imagine how much effort the Heavenly Mountain Sect had put into building this world of ice and snow.

"Sorry, Brother Lin," Tian Zilian said, her face blushing slightly. "I actually just came to call you for breakfast."

"Oh, right. Let’s go eat," Lin Kuang replied quickly.

Throughout the day, Lin Kuang only left his room for meals. He spent the rest of his time cultivating, waiting for nightfall.

「After dark.」

Lin Kuang and Tian Zilian set out once more, returning to the snow cave.

I have to catch it today, Lin Kuang resolved, looking at the entrance to the cave.

With that thought, the two entered. Lin Kuang took out the Jade Box and placed it beneath the Nethercold Zhe Tree. Then, he plucked a few of its leaves.

"Zilian, put a drop of your blood on these leaves," Lin Kuang instructed.

Tian Zilian nodded, bit her index finger, and let a drop of blood fall onto the Nethercold Zhe Leaves.

After that was done, Lin Kuang carefully propped the Jade Box open with a small branch. He had created a simple trigger. If the Ice Silkworm entered the box, its body would touch the branch, causing the lid to snap shut and trap it.

"Alright, Zilian, let’s hide," Lin Kuang said after double-checking the trap.

Tian Zilian nodded. The two of them concealed themselves once again, quietly awaiting the Ice Silkworm’s arrival.
