Chapter 82: Chapter 82 Bullying Chronicles

He had enjoyed the look of horror I gave him. "I thought you were going to lie. I planned on driving back and letting you die there in that pool if you had." He had said. I was really frightened.

Those words had stolen my breath and peace. I shakily asked him. "How much do you know about me?" And he replies,

"Everything there is to know. Your life is so basic. Calloway." He takes me home that day like he had not tried to kill me in the pool.

Pulling up and dropping me in front of my parents driveway even though I had begged him to drop me somewhere a little far back so I wouldn’t be seen getting out of his expensive car in the nosy middle-class neighborhood that I live in. The news that I was seen with a guy in some fancy Porsche flew around quicker than a fire could spread. Mom didn’t like that at all.

Especially when my school life started getting affected. She hastily flew into the conclusion that I was ruining my life because of a relationship. That assumption of hers obstinately did not change no matter how many times I tried to tell her that it wasn’t like that. I gave up trying to change that assumption later on as it was impossible to. That is who my mom is. Once she has formed an opinion, it is hard for anyone to try and change it.

Dad gently advises me to not prioritize boys over my academics. They are both fully convinced that the reason I was getting into detentions and my grades slipping was because of a boy. None tried to find out the real reason for it.

Whenever I heard cases and stories of bullying in the past, I would be like, why didn’t they tell their parents? Or a trusted adult? I think I understand why now. I cannot report to neither of my parents what I’m facing at school. I plan to keep it to myself and survive until he graduates.

When Dad asks me what is going on with me, I would tell him nothing. Other times I would say it is because of school stress. My boss at the noodle shop thought Calyx and his minions were "nice friends" of mine that always come to see me. She even thinks of

Calyx as my new boyfriend and somehow came up with the assumption that Maverick and I and broke up on her own. "He is a lot capable than that other guy. He is so handsome too. You sure elevated your taste." She said.

I did not bother correcting her too because I couldn’t tell her what he is to me exactly.

That he is someone who had sworn to make my life hell and is keeping his promise.

He had come to know about me working at the noodle restaurant and makes it a spot for his outside school bullying. He doesn’t comes alone. He brings the rest of his band minions and they make a party in the restaurant.

To my boss, they were golden customers because they buy almost the recipe inventory itself when they come by. School wasn’t enough for them to give me hell. Not going to school was not an option either because Calyx has photos of me that he is threatening to upload on the school’s forum and on the internet if I don’t show up at school.

I doubted that he even had them at first because there is no way he could have gotten them. It is not like I have someone who I would be sending private photos to. I will not be stupid enough to send those things anyway.

He, as crazy and perverted as he is had not tried to sexually assault me. Not yet. I am not his type of beautiful and glamorous category of girls and I’m glad I’m not. He later shows me the photos. It was from when I change into my swimwear in my locker room before practice.

He or someone else that is most likely under his thumb had hidden a camera in there to record me. But that wasn’t even the main problem. The problem is that it was edited to seem lewd and intentional. I had argued to him that it was fake.

And that no one would believe it. "Try me and see how I can make a fake real. Fake or not, it would be detrimental to your scholarship." It pained me to admit that what he said was true. The stigma of a lie sticks more than anything else. It would ruin me no matter what I say.

I once asked Dad why people sometimes get wrongfully imprisoned for crimes that they did not commit. He answers by saying that the law sometimes uses scapegoats and fake criminals to hide its incompetence. That is why some innocent people are framed for crimes and thrown into jail. He also says that he finds the law frustrating sometimes because it gives criminals more ground and rights than they deserve.

No one would pick me—a nobody, scholarship rat over Lamont who has everything. Character values is nothing in this world. Money and power is what speaks and rules.

I now know the lounge that Calyx and the other diamond league students hangs out in. I am forced to sit there right now with them instead of taking classes. He is not here. But his minions are. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

They are smoking some really wierd, strong smelling shit from a pipe. Smokes coming out of their nostrils and mouth. They were pills too. White pills in clear, transparent small bags.

The people who took it are acting strange. They are now like spaghettis with silly ecstatic smile plastered on their faces. I look around for the door from time to time. This Particular room is like a mini club. Surrounded by shinny white walls that seems to be caving in. It is difficult to tell on which side of the wall the door is because there is nothing to differentiate it from the walls once you’re inside. Me trying to run out would not be a good idea. The blue strobe lightings they put on doesn’t help matters too.
