Chapter 87: Chapter 87
Gunnar~
The two beasts slammed into me and my back hit the wall so hard that the impact sent a sharp pain through my spine and for a second my vision blurred.
I could feel the stone digging into my fur and the ground beneath my paws shaking from the force of their weight.
I knew this was a dead end fighting two prime wolves at once and any normal wolf would already be dead or begging for mercy, but I still would not give up because there was only one thing in my head and that was Riley.
I forced myself to stay grounded and not lose control because my mother’s voice was ringing inside my mind even in this form.
She had always warned me that the moment I shifted, I must keep my beast sane and under control because once I crossed that line, there would be no coming back.
That was the main reason I had avoided shifting for so many years even when every part of me had wanted to. I had always been afraid of what I would become if I let go fully, and right now that fear was staring at me from inside my own chest.
One of the prime wolves moved faster than I expected. He lunged forward and his claws were aimed directly at my throat. I twisted my body at the last second and dodged him, and his claws slammed into the cave wall behind me instead. The sound was loud and terrifying as the rock cracked instantly and pieces began falling down around us. Dust filled the air and for a moment it was hard to see clearly.
I stepped away from the wall and let out a deep growl. My chest was rising and falling heavily, and my muscles were tense. I stared at both of them and spoke even though they were beasts because something told me they could understand.
"I will wear you both out," I said, my voice deep and rough in this form. "I do not care how long it takes."
They both lunged at the same time.
I pushed my strength into my legs and jumped upward, my body moving on instinct. I flipped over them and landed behind them, then slammed both my forelegs into their backs with all the force I had been holding back.
The impact sent them crashing into the opposite wall. The cave shook again and more rocks fell.
A sudden loud howl left my throat before I even realized it.
It was not me.
It was my wolf.
The sound echoed through the cave and something inside me shifted. A strange excitement started building in my chest and it scared me because I had not felt this in years. My wolf was beginning to enjoy the fight, and that was dangerous. I could feel the thrill rising and spreading through my body like heat.
No.
I tried to pull back.
I tried to stay calm.
But the feeling kept growing.
I could not deny it.
I loved this.
The power, the strength, the raw force in my body right now, the way the ground trembled beneath my paws, the way my enemies looked at me now with something close to respect for landing just one brutal hit. I had buried this part of me for so long that I almost forgot how it felt.
One of the prime wolves stood up first and shook his head before staring at me with burning eyes. The other followed, and they began circling me slowly again.
This time, I did not wait.
I rushed forward.
I slammed into the first one and knocked him to the ground, then turned and bit into the second one’s shoulder. He roared and pushed me away but I did not stop. I jumped again and landed on his back, my claws digging into his flesh. He rolled and we both crashed against the ground, but I stood up immediately.
The cave was now a mess. Cracks ran across the walls and pieces of rock were everywhere.
They attacked together again.
One grabbed my side with his jaws and the pain shot through my body, but instead of backing away, I twisted and slammed my head into his skull. He loosened his grip and I used that moment to throw him off. freёweɓnovel.com
The second one tried to pin me down from behind, but I turned quickly and pushed him with both forelegs. He slid across the ground and hit the wall.
My breathing was heavy now and my vision was sharper than ever.
My wolf laughed inside me.
Not a normal laugh.
Something darker and wild.
I could feel my own control slipping right now and I did not care anymore.
I charged again and this time I did not hold back.
I hit the first wolf so hard that he flew and crashed into a pillar of stone. The pillar broke and fell. Before he could stand, I grabbed him by the neck and slammed him into the ground.
The second beast roared and jumped at me. I met him in midair and we both fell, rolling and biting and clawing.
Blood filled my mouth but I did not know whose it was.
We separated and stared at each other.
I could feel the beast inside me pushing harder now, wanting more, wanting to finish them, wanting to dominate and claim this place.
I let out another howl and this one sounded different. It was louder, deeper, and full of something that made even the prime wolves pause.
They looked at me in a new way.
Not as an enemy. Not as prey.
But as something else that I had always been afraid of.
I attacked again and slammed one into the ground so hard that the floor cracked under his body. He struggled beneath me, but I pressed him down and roared in his face.
The other wolf did not attack this time.
He watched me.
Then he stepped forward slowly. His eyes locked with mine.
He let out a low growl that sounded almost like a voice.
"Now you are truly one of us."
