Chapter 236: Chapter 236

Cane’s POV

The guard stood in front of me breathing hard like he had run through the entire pack house just to find me. Sweat covered his forehead and he kept looking at me nervously like he wanted to speak immediately, but I wasn’t ready to hear whatever news he came with yet. Not now. Not while Sebastian was still standing in front of me acting like he still had power here.

I looked at the guard calmly and said, "Leave first. I’ll come to you shortly."

The guard hesitated. "But Alpha Cane, it’s urgent-"

"I said leave."

My voice came out harder this time and he immediately lowered his head.

"Yes, Alpha Cane."

He turned quickly and disappeared down the hallway.

The moment he left, my eyes returned to Sebastian.

Two guards still held his arms tightly from both sides because nobody trusted him enough to stand freely anymore. His clothes were rough and stained from the fight earlier and there was dried blood near his mouth, but even after everything that happened, the man still looked at me like he believed he could control this situation.

I slowly walked toward him until I stopped right in front of him.

"Is there anything else you would like to say?" I asked him calmly.

Sebastian stared at me with anger burning all over his face. "Are you enjoying this Cane?"

"I am."

"You are making a mistake."

"No," I answered immediately. "You made the mistake when you thought nobody would ever challenge you."

His jaw tightened hard.

The guards around us stayed silent. Nobody interrupted.

I folded my hands behind my back before speaking again.

"If there is nothing else you want to add, then prepare yourself for what comes next."

His eyes narrowed slightly. "What are you talking about?"

"In three days, during the Blood Moon gathering, the impeachment ceremony will begin. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten that the blood moon is in three days"

The moment the words left my mouth, Sebastian’s entire expression changed.

For the first time since this started, he looked shaken.

"No," he said instantly. "You can’t do that."

"I can," I answered coldly.

His breathing became heavier. "I am still Alpha of Obsidian Veil."

I stepped closer to him "The pack will gather in three days. And in front of everyone, your title will be stripped from you."

His face darkened completely.

"You ungrateful bastard," he spat. "After everything I built-"

His chest rose heavily as anger spread across his face.

The guards around us no longer looked at him like their Alpha. None of them lowered their heads for him anymore.

Sebastian looked around at the men standing there and for a brief second, I saw it clearly on his face.

He realized he was alone.

His eyes returned to mine immediately after. "You are destroying this family."

I laughed quietly."There hasn’t been a family here in years."

The hallway became silent again.

Then I looked toward the guards holding him.

"Take him to the lower cells."

Sebastian instantly jerked against their hold. "No."

"Lock him up until the Blood Moon ceremony."

"You can’t imprison me!" he roared.

I ignored him and continued speaking to the guards.

"Use reinforced chains."

One of the guards nodded immediately.

"The kind that tightens the more he struggles."

Sebastian’s face lost color immediately after hearing that.

"No."

He suddenly lunged toward me violently, but the guards grabbed him before he could even touch me.

"LET GO OF ME!"

The hallway echoed with his shouting. "You traitorous bastards!"

The guards tightened their grip and started dragging him backward.

Sebastian fought hard against them, trying to break free.

"This pack belongs to me!"

Nobody answered him.

"You hear me?!"

His voice became louder the farther they dragged him away.

"I built Obsidian Veil!"

"You cannot take it from me!"

His eyes locked onto mine desperately. "Cane!"

I stood there watching him without expression as the guards dragged him farther down the hallway while he continued struggling.

"I will never kneel to you!"

His voice echoed loudly through the underground cells.

"I would rather watch this entire pack burn first!"

The guards finally pulled him around the corner and his voice slowly faded away until silence returned again.

I stood there quietly for a few seconds.

Then I looked at the remaining guards."Leave."

Every single one of them lowered their heads before walking away immediately.

Soon the hallway became completely empty.

Only me remained.

I exhaled slowly before turning deeper into the underground prison.

Three visits.

That was my plan tonight.

Daphne first.

Then Wendy second.

Then Ethan last.

I would pay all three of them a visit today.

I wanted all of them to understand clearly that nothing would save them anymore.

Not after what they did to Riley.

My boots echoed against the stone floor as I walked deeper underground. The farther I went, the colder the cells became. The smell of blood and damp walls filled the air heavily until I finally stopped in front of Daphne’s cell.

I stared at her quietly for a moment.

She sat on the floor against the wall with her knees pulled slightly toward her chest. Blood stained her clothes and bruises covered her arms and face. Her hair fell over her eyes messily and there was dirt all over her skin.

She looked terrible but I felt nothing.

Daphne didn’t even lift her head when she heard me stop outside the bars.

"If you came to kill me," she muttered weakly, "then do it quickly, brother." ƒгeewёbnovel.com

I stayed silent.

Her breathing shook slightly before she spoke again.

"I’m tired."

I slowly stepped closer to the bars.

"You think death is your punishment?"

She gave a small bitter laugh without raising her head.

"What else is left for me?"

I looked at her quietly for a few seconds before answering.

"No, Daphne."

She slowly lifted her face toward me. One side of her lips was swollen badly and dried blood stained her chin.

"You’re not dying yet."

The moment I said that, fear immediately crossed her face.

I saw it clearly. Her fingers slowly tightened against the floor.

I continued speaking calmly. "You still don’t understand what you did."

She swallowed hard.

"You tried to kill our mate."

Her eyes hardened instantly. "She ruined everything."

"No," I answered sharply. "You ruined yourself."

"She took everything away from me and Gunnar murdered Sapphire!"

"You lost everything the moment you chose hatred over your own family."

Daphne pushed herself up shakily until she was standing in front of the bars. Her body looked weak but anger still burned in her eyes.

I stared at her coldly.

"Not only did you poison Summer, you tried to murder Riley as well, your punishment would be ten times crueler than others I promise you"

Each word made her expression grow worse.

Daphne looked away immediately.

I wanted her to feel ashamed.

I stepped closer to the bars. Her breathing quickened.

"You’ll stay underground while the entire pack prepares for Riley’s Luna ceremony."

Daphne’s face changed instantly. "No..."

I kept my eyes locked on hers. "You’ll hear the celebrations from down here."

"You’ll hear people cheering for the same woman you tried to kill."

Tears slowly filled her eyes."You can’t do this to me."

She grabbed the bars tightly as her lips trembled badly. The cell became silent again except for her uneven breathing.

Then I continued.

"After the Blood Moon, you’ll stand trial in front of the entire pack."

Her eyes widened immediately and I stared at her without emotion.

Daphne shook her head quickly while tears rolled down her face.

"You’re my brother."

I laughed quietly."And Riley is our mate."

The moment I said that, her expression broke again.

I could see jealousy all over her face.

"You chose her over me."

I answered without hesitation. "Yes, I did."

Daphne stared at me like she couldn’t believe I admitted it so easily.

"You know why?" I asked.

She said nothing.

"Because Riley never pretended to love us while secretly hurting us and everyone around her."

The force in my voice made her flinch immediately.

I continued before she could speak again. "After your trial, your rank will be stripped. And every single wolf in Obsidian Veil will know exactly what you did."

She suddenly grabbed the bars harder. "Please don’t do this."

I stared at her quietly.

For a second, I remembered when we were younger.

Back before all this hatred. Before she became this person.

But the image disappeared the moment Riley’s face entered my mind again.

My expression hardened again immediately."Goodluck baby Sis"
