Chapter 235: Chapter 235
Cane’s POV
"No," I cut him off sharply. "Don’t do that."
The hallway became quiet again.
"Don’t stand there and act like you were a father to us."
His face darkened.
"You trained us to fight before we were old enough to defend ourselves."
"You punished weakness like it was a crime."
"You taught us how to kill before you ever taught us how to live."
My voice stayed calm, but every word came out harder.
"And now you’re shocked we turned out this way against you?"
Sebastian clenched his fists tightly.
"You made us exactly who we are."
One of the guards swallowed nervously. I could feel all of them listening carefully now.
Nobody interrupted. Nobody moved.
Sebastian stared at me with pure hatred.
"You dare speak to me like this because of a woman?"
At the mention of Riley, my expression changed instantly.
The temperature in the hallway dropped immediately.
"You should be careful when you speak about her."
He laughed mockingly. "That human girl has poisoned all of you."
Before anybody realized what was happening, I grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against the wall.
The impact echoed through the hallway.
The guards froze immediately.
Sebastian grabbed my wrist, growling furiously, but I held him there easily.
"When you sent her there to die, remember," I said quietly.
His eyes burned into mine.
"You knew humans never survive Lunar Hollow."
I tightened my grip slightly. "But she survived anyway."
His breathing became rough.
"She came back stronger than every wolf that doubted her."
I leaned closer."And that is what truly bothers you."
Sebastian’s lips curled angrily. "You think a human deserves to rule this pack?"
"She deserves it more than you ever did."
The words hit him hard. I saw it in his face.
His pride hated hearing that.
I finally released him and stepped back.
Sebastian coughed once before straightening his clothes again.
Even now, he still tried to look proud.
But everyone could see the truth. He was losing control.
And he knew it.
"We gave you time," I said.
"You should have started preparing the succession ceremony the moment Riley returned."
I crossed my arms slowly."But instead, you delayed everything."
"You pretended nothing had changed."
I shook my head once."That was a mistake."
Sebastian suddenly looked around at the guards standing there.
"Have all of you lost your minds standing here?" he shouted. "I am your Alpha!"
Nobody answered him. Not one person.
That silence hit harder than any words.
I watched his face carefully. For the first time, Sebastian looked uncertain only for a second.
But I saw it.
I stepped closer again.
"Look around you carefully," I said quietly. "Nobody here trusts you anymore."
His eyes snapped back to mine.
"And you think they trust you?"
"They fear us," I answered honestly. "But at least we never lie about what we are."
His jaw clenched tightly.
"You know something funny?" I continued. "You spent years trying to make us ruthless."
I stared directly into his eyes.
"And now you’re standing in front of the monsters you created."
The hallway stayed completely silent.
"You raised sons feared across every territory connected to Obsidian Veil."
"You raised sons that kill without hesitation when they decide someone deserves it."
"You raised sons that stopped caring about blood ties a long time ago."
I stepped even closer until only a small space remained between us.
"So tell me something, Sebastian."
My voice dropped lower. "Did you really think we would spare you forever?"
He stared at me without speaking. For once, he had nothing to say.
I continued before he could recover.
"Have you forgotten the kind of men you raised?"
"You raised Alphas who learned cruelty from you."
"You raised sons who watched their mother cry because of you."
"You raised sons who hate you more every single day."
His face twitched slightly at that.
Good.
I wanted him to hear it. I wanted him to feel every word.
"You know the only reason you are still alive right now?"
Sebastian’s eyes narrowed.
I answered before he could speak. " It’s Mother."
That was the first thing that truly affected him.
His expression changed immediately.
"She still cares about you," I said coldly. "Even after everything."
I looked at him with complete disgust.
"If she didn’t, you would already be dead."
The hallway stayed silent.
Then I spoke again. "And do you know the second reason?"
He stared at me without blinking.
I stepped closer until my voice was the only thing he could hear.
"We want you alive."
His brows slowly pulled together and I smiled slightly.
"We want you to stay alive long enough to watch us take everything from you."
His breathing stopped for a second.
"We want you to watch Riley become Luna."
"We want you to sit there while the entire pack kneels to us instead of you."
"And most importantly..."
I paused.
"We want you to regret ever having sons."
His face finally cracked.
The anger was still there. But now there was something else too.
Fear. Real fear.
Not because he thought we would kill him but because he finally understood we wouldn’t. freewēbnoveℓ.com
Living through this would hurt him more.
I stared at him for a long moment before taking one step back.
"The throne is already gone, Sebastian," I said quietly. "You just haven’t accepted it yet."
Nobody spoke after that. The guards stayed frozen in place. The air felt heavy.
Then suddenly, fast footsteps echoed from the other side of the hallway.
Everyone turned immediately.
A guard came running toward us, breathing heavily.
His face looked pale as if the worst had happened and honestly I had a bad feeling about it. He stopped a few feet away from me and bent forward slightly trying to catch his breath
My stomach tightened instantly.
Something was wrong. The guard lifted his head toward me.
"Alpha..." he said urgently.
Then his voice shook.
"It’s Miss Les-."
