Chapter 216: Chapter 216

Riley’s POV

I swung at her, connecting with her side. She growled but held her ground.

Wendy was already moving again.

I glanced between them, my breathing uneven.

They weren’t slowing down. Not even a little.

"Do you both come with an off switch," I demanded, "or is this just permanent?"

No answer.

They moved again, this time faster and more coordinated.

Daphne lunged, forcing me to block high. Wendy came in low and slammed into my legs.

I lost my balance. The ground came up hard. Before I could recover, they were on me. Both of them. freeweɓnovel.cѳm

Their combined weight pressed me down, pinning me in place.

I tried to push up, but Daphne’s claws dug into my side, and Wendy’s body kept my legs trapped.

"Okay," I wheezed. "Now this is just unfair."

I twisted, forcing my arm free, and slammed my fist into Daphne’s ribs. freёwebnovel.com

She shifted slightly. It was enough. I shoved her off and rolled, dragging myself up to my knees.

My chest heaved. My arm burned.

Blood ran down my side and soaked into my clothes.

I wiped at my mouth and tasted metal.

"Alright," I said, breathing hard. "I’ll admit it. You’re both doing very well in your wolf forms"

They stood there unshaken. Not even breathing hard.

That annoyed me more than anything.

"Could you at least look tired?" I snapped. "Just a little? For my confidence?"

Wendy tilted her head slightly.

I narrowed my eyes.

"Don’t do that," I said. "Don’t look curious. It makes this worse."

She charged again.

I didn’t move away. I stepped forward and met her.

We collided again, but this time I grabbed onto her neck and used her movement to flip her over my shoulder.

She hit the ground hard.

I followed immediately, dropping on top of her and driving my fist into her side three times.

She snapped at me, her teeth sinking into my arm and oain exploded through me.

I sucked in a sharp breath and yanked back, blood running freely now.

"Okay," I said, my voice tight. "That one definitely hurt."

Daphne slammed into me again.

Her weight hit my back, sending me forward and off Wendy.

I hit the ground hard.

Before I could get up, her claws dragged across my side again, deeper this time.

I gasped, my body jerking as pain spread through my ribs.

"Alright," I muttered, trying to push up. "We’re getting serious now."

Wendy was already back on her feet.

I stared at her."You don’t stay down," I said. "You just don’t."

They moved together again, coming at me from both sides.

I blocked one but the other hit hard.

Wendy’s body slammed into my legs, knocking them out from under me.

At the same time, Daphne’s full weight crashed into my chest.

I hit the ground with a force that shook through my entire body.

The air left my lungs. Everything went still for a second then the pain hit me sharply.

I sucked in a breath- and choked on it.

Something in my side shifted in a way it shouldn’t have.

I lay there, staring up, trying to breathe.

"Oh," I whispered. "That’s not good."

They didn’t stop. They didn’t give me space. They pressed down, keeping me pinned.

I tried to move.

The moment I did, pain shot through my ribs so hard it made my vision blur.

I dropped back down with a broken breath.

"Okay," I said weakly. "We’re... we’re not getting up right now."

My chest rose unevenly.

My arm lay heavy beside me. Blood soaked into the ground beneath me.

I turned my head slowly as they stood over me now.

I let out a quiet breath.

"Wow," I murmured. "You two are really committed to this."

They stepped closer slowly. Like they already knew how this would end.

I swallowed, my throat dry.

"Before you continue," I said, my voice rough, "I just want to say... I feel like I did pretty well fighting two huge wolves on arms."

I let out a weak breath that almost sounded like a laugh.

"Yeah," I said softly. "I thought so."

They stopped right in front of me. Close enough that I could see the focus in their eyes.

Close enough that I knew-I wasn’t getting up again.

I tried anyway but the moment I moved, pain tore through my ribs.

I gasped and dropped back down, my body refusing to cooperate.

"Alright," I whispered, staring up. "That’s... that’s it for me."

Daphne lowered her head slightly and Wendy’s growl deepened.

They were ready to finish me off. What was I even thinking when I asked two werewolves to shift and fight me.

And for the first time since this started- I had nothing left to throw back at them.

My chest tightened as I struggled to breathe, every inhale shallow and painful.

I looked at them, then at the sky, then back at them again.

"...Okay," I said quietly.

A small pause. Then, with a faint, tired breath-

"Oh God... I’m finished."
