Chapter 215: Chapter 215

Riley’s POV

I didn’t expect them to actually do it.

"Shift and fight me," I had said, like I had sense, like I hadn’t just invited my own funeral trying to prove a fucking point to them, I didn’t even trust myself at this point.

But they did.

Right there. No hesitation. No warning.

Their bodies snapped out of shape with that harsh, wet sound that always made my stomach turn. Bones shifted, joints forced into new positions, skin stretched tight and then split into fur. It was fast, violent, and completely controlled.

I stood there watching, my confidence quietly packing its bags.

When they landed, the ground took the impact.

Both of them huge. freёweɓnovel.com

I blinked slowly as I took them in.

"Alright," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Let’s just... take a second here."

Neither of them moved. They just stared at me.

I looked from one to the other again, this time really seeing them.

They weren’t just big. They were massive. Too massive to be female.

Their shoulders stood high and solid, their legs thick with muscle, their heads larger than anything I had expected from female wolves. Their eyes stayed locked on me, sharp and alert, like they had already decided how this was going to end.

I let out a slow breath.

"Okay," I said. "So... quick question to you both. Who gave you permission to be this size?"

No response. Of course.

They started circling me.

That calm, deliberate movement predators always had when they knew they were in control.

I turned with them, adjusting my stance, keeping both in view.

"This is fine," I muttered under my breath. "This is exactly how I wanted today to go anyways."

Wendy let out a low growl.

It wasn’t loud, but it carried weight. It pressed into my chest and settled there. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

I rolled my neck and forced a small smirk.

"If you’re trying to scare me, it’s working a little," I admitted. "But I’m still here, so let’s not waste time."

That was all it took.

Wendy moved first.

She didn’t hesitate.

She launched.

Her body cut through the space between us so fast that my brain barely caught up. I tried to step back, but she was already there, her weight slamming into me with full force.

I hit the ground hard.

The air rushed out of my lungs in one sharp burst.

"Okay-!" I gasped, my voice breaking as I tried to breathe. "That was-fast-!"

Her jaws snapped toward my face.

I shoved my arm up instinctively, bracing against her throat and pushing with everything I had. Her weight pressed down harder, forcing me deeper into the ground.

"Back up," I snapped, kicking upward into her body.

She barely shifted.

"Are you serious?" I groaned. "You’re not even going to react?"

Daphne came in from the side.

I saw her too late.

I twisted just enough to avoid her teeth closing around my neck, but her shoulder slammed into me instead. Pain shot through my side as I rolled away, dragging myself across the ground.

I forced myself up, breathing hard now.

"Alright," I said, lifting my hands slightly. "We’re not easing into this, I see. Straight to violence. I respect it."

They didn’t slow down. They came again.

Together.

Wendy lunged high. Daphne came in low.

I stepped into Wendy, grabbing onto her neck and using her momentum to pull her forward. She stumbled, and I twisted, forcing her off balance. She hit the ground with a heavy thud.

I turned to deal with Daphne- But I was too slow.

Her body crashed into me, her claws digging into my shoulder as she drove me backward.

Pain burned through my arm. I gritted my teeth and drove my elbow into her jaw. Once. Twice.

She snarled and pulled back slightly.

I took the chance and shoved her away, creating just enough space to move.

I didn’t get far.

Wendy was already back up.

"Of course you are," I muttered. "Why wouldn’t you be when you’re at your fucking strongest?"

She charged again. This time I met her head-on.

We collided, her weight forcing me back step by step. My feet dug into the ground, my muscles straining as I tried to hold my position.

"You’re heavy," I said through clenched teeth. "Like, unnecessarily heavy."

Her jaws snapped toward my arm.

I jerked back, but her teeth still caught my skin.

Pain tore through me, sharp and immediate.

I hissed and drove my knee up into her chest.

She staggered back finally,

"Yes," I breathed. "That one counted."

I followed it with a punch to the side of her jaw.

She shook her head, more annoyed than hurt.

Daphne didn’t wait.

She came from behind and slammed into my back, sending me forward. I barely caught myself before hitting the ground face-first.

Her claws raked across my back.

I gasped as pain spread through my body.

"Okay," I snapped, twisting around. "You’re starting to irritate me now."
