Chapter 117: Chapter 117

Riley’s POV

The driver kept pulling me forward as we walked quickly through the large halls of the pack..

His grip on my wrist was firm but not painful, and from the way he kept looking around nervously I could tell something serious was happening inside the pack.

The moment we entered the main chambers, I immediately noticed the chaos.

People were rushing everywhere.

Some maids were running down the hall carrying what I don’t even know.

A few warriors stood in groups whispering to each other in worried voices.

Others were moving quickly like they had been given urgent orders.

The entire place felt tense. Very tense.

It was like something big had happened and everyone was panicking.

I frowned deeply as I looked around. "What is going on?" I asked the driver.

He did not stop walking"It is nothing important," he replied quickly.

Nothing important? I stared at the back of his head in disbelief, scoffing at his words.

If this was nothing important then I did not even want to imagine what important looked like.

We kept walking through the busy halls until suddenly the driver stopped abruptly.

I almost bumped into his back when did that.

He quickly stepped aside and bowed his head."Alpha." he said.

I looked up when he said that.

My heart skipped slightly as I took in the figure in front of me.

Caden was standing a few steps away from us.

The moment I saw him I felt something strange in my chest.

I did not even realize how much tension I had been carrying in my body until that moment.

Seeing him here somehow made me feel relieved.

Which was honestly ridiculous.

But still.

Caden looked exactly the same.

Tall with his broad shoulders and dark hair.

And that sharp face that always looked serious and dangerous at the same time.

My eyes slowly moved down to his lips.

They looked just as annoyingly perfect as I remembered.

Soft.

Full.

The kind of lips that made it very easy to stare at them longer than necessary.

Without realizing it I bit my own lip slightly.

He was honestly unfairly handsome.

Then suddenly his voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"I am glad you made it back," he said calmly.

Then his eyes narrowed slightly."But if you are done drooling you should follow me."

My eyes widened immediately.

Drooling?

Excuse me?

I glared at him instantly."Drooling?" I repeated angrily.

But he had already turned around and started walking away like he had not just insulted my dignity.

My face burned with embarrassment.

Does he seriously think I was drooling over him?

"You were," a voice suddenly said inside my head. "And you liked what you saw."

Huh?

I froze.

My entire body went still.

My eyes widened in confusion.

What the hell was that?

I quickly looked around. "Did you hear that?" I asked suddenly.

Caden stopped walking and looked at me like I had just said something stupid.

"You might need some pills for your sanity," he said flatly.

"Considering the fact that you somehow survived the Prime Wolves and the Moon Bound Beasts."

My stomach twisted slightly hearing that.

He continued speaking calmly.

"Do not worry. I already prepared something to help with that." frёeωebɳovel.com

I stopped walking completely. Anger exploded inside my chest.

"Oh wow," I said sarcastically."So this is the welcome I get?"

Caden frowned slightly but did not speak.

I crossed my arms angrily.

"I go on a death mission just to secure a stupid marriage truce for you people."

My voice rose with frustration.

"I nearly died several times just to bring back that ridiculous Lunar Fur so you brothers can finalize a political marriage so I can divorce Ethan and you Alphas get what the hell ever you want"

Several warriors nearby were now staring at us. But I did not care.

"And this is the thanks I get?" I continued. "You think I am insane?"

Caden’s expression slowly darkened. But I was already too angry to stop.

"You know what?" I snapped.

"I could just walk out of here right now and go back to Crescent Hollow."

I pointed toward the exit.

"I am the CEO there and my life was perfectly fine before I got dragged into all this crazy wolf nonsense—"

I did not even finish the sentence and suddenly Caden moved.

Before I could react his hands grabbed my wrists.

Then he slammed me hard against the wall behind me.

My back hit the stone with a painful thud.

"Ah!"

The breath left my lungs as pain spread across my back.

"What the—!"

Caden was suddenly very close. Very dangerously close.

His body was pressed against mine and his hands were holding my wrists tightly against the wall.

My heart began beating faster. Not because I was nervous.

Okay maybe a little.

But mostly because the look in his eyes was terrifying.

His eyes looked dark.

Very dark. Angry. Deadly. For a moment I forgot how to breathe.

He leaned slightly closer to me.

"If you know what is good for you Riley," he said in a low dangerous voice, "you will shut your mouth and follow me right now."

His grip tightened around my wrists.

Oh fuck It hurts

"Caden," I said quickly. "You are hurting me."

But he did not loosen his grip.

Instead his jaw tightened.

Then he said something that made my entire brain freeze.

"I would rather have him suck every last drop of your blood than let him die."

My mouth slowly fell open."What?"

The words came out as a whisper.

I stared at him in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

But Caden did not answer.

For a moment he just stared at me like he was fighting with something inside his head.

Then suddenly he released my wrists. The sudden freedom made my arms drop to my sides.

I was about to yell at him again for slamming me into a wall like that.

But before I could even open my mouth something shocking happened.

Caden suddenly bent down. Then he lifted me straight off the ground.

My eyes widened. "What are you doing?!" I shouted.

He had picked me up like I weighed nothing.

My arms instinctively grabbed his shoulders to keep my balance.

"Put me down!" I protested loudly.

But Caden completely ignored me.

Instead he adjusted his hold on me and began moving quickly down the hall.

Actually not quickly. More like extremely fast. He was almost running.

My hair was flying behind me as he carried me through the chambers.

"Caden!" I shouted again."What is going on?!"

But he did not respond. His expression looked tense. Focused.

Like he was racing against time.

We passed several shocked warriors and servants in the halls.

They all stepped aside immediately when they saw Caden rushing forward while carrying me in his arms.

Some of them stared in confusion. Others looked worried.

One maid even dropped the tray she was carrying.

I tightened my grip on his shoulders. "You better explain what is happening right now!" I said angrily.

Still no response.

We turned another corner. Then another. And suddenly I realized something. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

He was heading toward the deeper part of the pack house.

Toward a place that seemed like a very private chamber.

My stomach twisted. "Caden," I said more seriously now.

"Where are we going?"

Finally he spoke. "To save my brother."

My brows pulled together immediately. "Your brother? Which of your brothers?"

Then suddenly my mind flashed back to what he had said earlier.

[’I would rather have him suck every last drop of your blood than let him die.’]

My heart skipped."What did you mean by what you said earlier? Am I going to die or what?" I asked slowly.

But Caden did not answer again.

Instead he pushed open a large door and rushed inside~

And the sight before me was terrifying? No it was devastating!
