Chapter 116: Chapter 116

Riley’s POV

I was still thinking about Dahlia’s words when it happened.

One moment I was standing there staring at her, trying to understand why she was saying such crazy things about the future.

The next moment I suddenly felt a hard shove against my back.

A really hard shove.

"Hey—!" The scream left my mouth before I could stop it.

My body lurched forward suddenly and for one horrible second I thought I was about to smash face first into the ground.

"WHAT THE HELL—!"

But then something very strange happened.

Instead of hitting the ground, it suddenly felt like the ground had disappeared.

My stomach dropped instantly.

"Oh my God—!"

The world around me blurred.

Everything became weird and floaty and completely confusing.

It felt like my body was falling and floating at the same time.

"DAHLIA YOU TRAITOR!" I yelled loudly.

I knew I should never have trusted her.

Who pushes someone like that without warning?

If I survived whatever was happening right now I was definitely going to kick at her for the rest of my life.

The strange floating feeling lasted only a few seconds.

Then suddenly—

THUD!

I landed straight on my butt.

Hard.

"AH!"

The painful sound that escaped my mouth was honestly embarrassing.

"Ow! What the hell!"

My hands instantly moved to rub my backside as I sat there on the ground.

"Oh my God that hurts," I groaned miserably.

"Why does the universe hate my butt so much?"

For a moment I just sat there holding my injured pride and my very injured backside.

Then I slowly looked up. And immediately realized something.

Several people were standing around me.

And they were all staring. Like really staring.

My brows slowly pulled together."Uh... hi?"

Nobody responded.

They just kept staring like they had never seen a human being fall on their butt before.

I slowly turned my head to look around.

At first everything looked confusing. Then suddenly recognition hit me.

The buildings. freewёbnoνel.com

The paths. The massive pack house in the distance.

My eyes widened."Wait..."

I quickly looked around again."Oh no."

My heart dropped."No no no no no."

I slapped my hand against my forehead."I am back in this hellhole."

Obsidian Veil.

Damn it.

Dahlia had literally pushed me here.

I groaned loudly.

"Seriously Dahlia?" I muttered.

"At least warn a girl before throwing her across magical dimensions."

I tried to stand up.

But the moment I put pressure on my legs my butt protested immediately.

"Ah!"

I dropped back down again.

"Okay wow that really hurts."

I rubbed the sore area again.

"Next time someone pushes me through magic space portals I am bringing a cushion."

The people around me were still staring.

That was when I noticed something. They did not look friendly.

Actually they looked more like they wanted to throw me out of the pack.

Or maybe throw me into a fire.

Honestly I could not tell. I sighed.

"Alright can you all stop staring at me like I just crawled out of a grave?"

Still no response.

My patience was already gone."Hello?" I said louder.

"Yes I fell on my butt. It happens to normal humans sometimes."

That was when one of the women in the crowd suddenly stepped forward.

Her face looked extremely angry.

"How dare you shout here?" she snapped.

I blinked."Excuse me?"

Her eyes narrowed."You worthless human."

Okay.

Rude.

She raised her hand like she was about to slap me.

My eyes widened."Hey hey wait—!"

But suddenly something strange happened.

Her hand stopped in the air.

Just like that.

Completely frozen.

The woman blinked in confusion.

She tried to bring her arm down. But it did not move.

Her eyes widened."What—?"

She pulled harder.

But the more she struggled the more uncomfortable she looked.

Her face slowly twisted in pain. "Why can’t I move?" she cried.

My stomach dropped instantly."Oh no."

Not this again. "Please no," I whispered to myself.

The woman groaned louder as she struggled."It hurts!"

More people began gathering around us now.

They were whispering nervously. "What is happening?"

"Why is she stuck like that?"

My heart started beating faster.

I quickly pushed myself up from the ground and rushed toward the woman.

"Okay okay calm down," I said quickly.

"I am sure this is just a weird coincidence."

The woman glared at me."You did this!"

"I did not!" I said quickly.

"Okay maybe I did but not on purpose!"

She tried pulling her arm again and cried out in pain.

"Oh God," I muttered.

I grabbed her wrist carefully and started shaking it.

"Oh my fucking God release her!"

Nothing happened.

"Release her!" I shouted louder.

Still nothing.

More people were gathering now. And they were definitely starting to look scared.

One man whispered loudly. "What the hell is she?"

Another voice said nervously. "Is she a monster?"

My heart started racing even faster.

This was bad.

This was very bad.

"Oh my God I am dead," I muttered under my breath.

"If something happens to this woman, they’re definitely going to throw me into a dungeon."

The woman cried again as she struggled.

"It hurts!"

"Okay okay okay!" I said quickly.

"Everybody relax!"

I shook her arm again."Release her!"

For a second nothing happened.

Then suddenly—

The woman’s arm dropped.

She gasped loudly as she stumbled backward and fell to the ground.

The crowd exploded into shocked whispers.

"What was that?"

"Did you see that?"

"Is she some kind of black witch?"

Someone suddenly spoke loudly. "Wait."

Everyone turned toward the speaker.

The man looked at me carefully and sad."She looks familiar."

Another voice spoke up."Yes."

More murmuring followed.

"Is that not the girl who came with the Alphas?"

"The one sent to the Rite of the Borrowed Moon?"

My stomach dropped.

Oh great.

They recognized me.

"How is she back already?"

"She should still be at Lunar Hollow Cave."

Another voice sounded shocked.

"She is alive."

The crowd slowly began stepping backward.

Like I was suddenly dangerous.

I raised my hands awkwardly."Okay listen everyone," I began.

"I promise I am not a monster."

But before I could continue, someone suddenly grabbed my arm.

"Come with me."

I turned quickly.

The man pulling me looked familiar.

Very familiar.

My eyes widened slightly."Wait..."

I stared at his face properly now.

Recognition hit me immediately.

"You are that driver?," I said. "The one who brought me here the first time."

He nodded quickly."Yes."

His voice sounded urgent."We have to hurry."

My brows pulled together in confusion."Hurry where?"

His grip tightened slightly as he began pulling me away from the crowd.

"You will understand soon Miss," he said quickly.

Something about his tone made my stomach twist with unease.

Because it sounded like something very serious had already started happening inside Obsidian Veil.
