Chapter 112: Chapter 112

Daphne’s POV

I cannot stop pacing.

My feet keep moving back and forth across the floor of my room like I am trapped inside a cage.

My chest feels tight and my hands keep shaking.

My eyes burn because I have been crying for so long that tears do not even fall properly anymore.

"Oh my goodness..." I whisper to myself.

My voice sounds broken."He killed her."

The words come out slowly. Then suddenly anger and pain rise together in my chest.

"He fucking killed Sapphire!" ƒгeewebnovёl.com

My knees almost give out as I stumble toward the wall.

I grab the edge of the table beside me to stop myself from falling.

My breathing becomes uneven.

Because I saw everything. Every single moment of it.

Right in front of my eyes.

I close my eyes for a second but the memory comes rushing back immediately.

The sound of voices.

The sound of running footsteps.

The smell of blood that had filled the entire hall.

Everything started when he came back.

That damn bastard Gunnar.

When he returned to the pack house everyone noticed something was wrong immediately.

The guards had opened the doors for him but the moment he stepped inside the entire hallway became silent.

Because he looked terrifying.

His clothes were covered in blood.

His hands were covered in blood too.

Even his face had streaks of it across his jaw and neck.

Nobody knew where he had come from.

Nobody knew what he had been doing.

But everyone could feel something dangerous about him.

His wolf aura was heavy.

So heavy that even the guards standing near the entrance slowly stepped backward.

I had been standing on the upper floor balcony at that time.

Watching everything from above.

The moment he walked in someone ran toward him quickly.

"Alpha Gunnar!"

The man was breathing hard.

"Something has happened!"

Gunnar’s head snapped toward him immediately.

His eyes looked cold."What?"

His voice sounded deep and dangerous.

The man swallowed nervously."It is your daughter... Summer."

For a second Gunnar did not move.

Then his entire body went still."What about her?" he asked slowly.

The man looked terrified.

"She collapsed after eating in the royal hall with your father," he said quickly.

"The healer thinks she has been poisoned."

Those words had barely finished leaving the man’s mouth when Gunnar suddenly moved.

He did not say anything else. He just turned and ran.

The speed shocked everyone.

He rushed down the hallway and disappeared around the corner toward the healer chambers.

The entire pack house became restless after that.

People started whispering everywhere.

Servants moved quickly through the halls.

Guards gathered near the doors. Nobody knew what was happening.

And then after some time he came back.

But he was not alone.

Leslie had come out of the healer chambers earlier to take something and people had begun talking loudly.

That was when the truth started spreading through the building.

Summer had been poisoned.

The entire hall had become tense.

Everyone was trying to guess who could have done such a thing.

That was when Sapphire walked into the hall.

Her long dress moved softly as she stepped forward.

We had planned on coming together to witness Caden beat the hell out of his father or perhaps kill him but Cane had noticed my scent earlier so I parted ways with Sapphire.

Nobody suspected her. Nobody even looked at her twice.

But I knew.

Because I had helped her.

My stomach twists painfully as I remember that moment.

I had been standing behind one of the pillars upstairs.

Watching everything. My heart had been beating fast.

Not because I felt guilt y but because I wanted to see the result of what I planned with Sapphire.

Then suddenly the main doors opened again.

Gunnar walked back inside.

And the moment he stepped into the hall everyone felt it.

Something about him had changed.

His eyes looked darker now. His shoulders were tense. His entire body looked ready to explode.

He walked slowly into the middle of the room.

People immediately moved out of his way.

Nobody wanted to stand too close to him.

He stopped walking once he reached the center. His eyes moved slowly across everyone in the room.

Nobody spoke. Nobody even breathed loudly.

Then his gaze landed on Sapphire.

For a moment neither of them moved. They just stared at each other.

Then Gunnar started walking toward her.

His steps were slow. Heavy.

Sapphire tilted her head slightly. "Alpha Gunnar," she said calmly.

Her voice sounded smooth. "Is there a problem?"

The entire room stayed silent. Everyone was watching now.

Gunnar stopped right in front of her. Their faces were only a short distance apart.

"You poisoned her."

His voice was quiet but full of anger.

Sapphire blinked slowly. "I have no idea what you are talking about."

Her tone sounded innocent. But I could see the tension in her fingers.

Gunnar’s eyes darkened further. "You put Morveth Draught in her meals while invisible"

His voice remained low."And moments later she collapsed."

Sapphire gave a small laugh."Are you accusing me?"

Gunnar’s fists slowly clenched.

"You poisoned my daughter."

Sapphire shook her head lightly."This is ridiculous."

But I could see something else in her eyes.

A small flash of fear.bGunnar stepped even closer. "So you deny it?"

"Of course I deny it."

Her voice sounded firmer now.

"I would never harm a child."

The tension in the room grew heavier.

Then suddenly Gunnar’s hand shot forward.

He grabbed her throat.

The movement was so fast that nobody reacted in time.

Sapphire gasped as his fingers wrapped tightly around her neck.

"What are you doing?!" someone shouted.

But Gunnar ignored them.

His grip tightened."You thought I would not find out."

Sapphire struggled to breathe."You are insane," she forced out weakly.

People in the hall began moving nervously. But nobody stepped forward.

Because the anger in Gunnar’s eyes looked terrifying.

His voice became colder. "You poisoned my daughter."

Then suddenly his hands moved. Before anyone could react.

Before anyone could stop him. A loud cracking sound echoed through the hall.

Gunnar grabbed her neck and twisted her it violently.

Sapphire’s body went completely limp.

Her eyes widened in shock.

Then the life inside them disappeared. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

Her body dropped to the floor like a broken doll.

The entire hall froze.

Nobody spoke.

Nobody moved.

Everyone just stared.

I felt my entire body start shaking.

My hands trembled uncontrollably.

Because the moment her body fell... Her eyes lifted slightly.

And they locked onto mine. Even though she was dying. Even though her neck was broken.

She still found me in the crowd.

And inside my mind her voice said faintly

Clear.nCold. Sharp. "Make sure to get our revenge Sapphire."
