Chapter 384: Chapter 94: Eternal Night and Cold Winter

He searched through his Dragon’s Legacy, but did not find a clear answer.

Udi’s ancestors, the Black Dragons, left behind a complex mix of information, yet few of them made a name in the Star Realm; almost all the ancestor Black Dragons were obscure figures.

In fact, many of the Black Dragon ancestors’ strength and knowledge were inferior to Udi’s own today.

"Alas." Udi felt quite helpless.

Back when he was weaker, he wanted to find knowledge, and the vast Dragon’s Legacy could provide a corresponding answer.

However, as his own strength grew and the level of his vision elevated, the knowledge within the Dragon’s Legacy became increasingly limited by comparison.

"I really envy those ancestors who had powerful and insightful predecessors, especially those Giant Dragons who loved to leave useful information and knowledge behind." Udi complained.

In comparison, the Dragon’s Legacy of Metal Dragons is certainly richer and more complete. After all, Metal Dragons are kind by nature, more skilled at teaching the younger generations, and although not entirely selfless, they are much more generous compared to the Five-Colored Dragons.

And the Five-Colored Dragons?

Even when they are powerful, they rarely leave useful and precious knowledge in the Dragon’s Legacy. Instead, they leave behind many grand stories of self-glorification. These tales, you might say, are useless, but somehow they offer some insights and knowledge.

But to say they are useful... they are actually not that helpful.

After thinking for a moment in frustration, Udi decided not to fret over these matters any longer.

First deal with the current crisis.

"Pull back the Black Wing Race, and wait for those demons to attack," Udi decided.

The number of the Demon Army is incalculable; dispatching any amount of Black-winged Warriors would simply be filling a bottomless pit.

Rather than doing that, it would be better to sit and wait for the Demon Army to attack.

If the demons are too strong and beyond Udi’s ability to handle, then retreat as necessary.

If the demons are within Udi’s ability to cope, then engage in a defensive war of attrition.

With the use of Void Power, as the war drags on, Udi’s strength will only grow stronger.

"This might also be a rare opportunity," Udi pondered secretly.

...Even before Shiji’s estimated three days, after only two and a half days, the first batch of the Demon Army descended on the northwest direction of the Dark Forest.

However, the monsters of the Black Wing Nest in that area had already evacuated in advance, leaving only a scattering of demons remaining. The Demon Army paid no heed to them, aiming directly at the east of the Dark Forest where the aura of life and soul was extremely strong, which is the location of the Monster City.

...Expanding enough to accommodate ten million beings, Monster City’s city walls.

Jackal Wolfman, Giant Demon, Ogre, Centaur, goblin, Kobold... there were even Forest Elves appearing.

The reason Forest Elves appeared in Monster City was due to a resolute decision by the Great Elder of the Emerald Forest—abandoning the millennia-old construction of the Emerald Forest to face the attacking Demon Army alongside the Black Wing Nest.

In response, many Forest Elves were somewhat dissatisfied, as they believed their Emerald Forest homeland had powerful defenses built up over a thousand years, making it unnecessary to abandon.

In comparison, the Monster City of Black Wing Nest has almost no Spell Matrix defenses, only a simple [Solid] Spell Matrix, lacking any attack, defense, or trap Spell Matrices.

Nevertheless, the Great Elder’s prestige was high, and many Forest Elves agreed, so naturally, the few opposing Forest Elves reluctantly abandoned their homeland and entered Monster City.

Upon arriving at Monster City, many of them frowned.

Although Monster City’s sanitation was fairly clean, it was now crowded with nearly all the Dark Forest’s monsters, numbering over a million. No matter how vast Monster City was, it was filled with the strong scent of monsters.

Since entering the city, the Forest Elves hadn’t stopped using Cleaning Illusions.

"Alright, don’t waste Magic Power, the Demon Army... they’re here!"

The Great Elf Elder Marla admonished the Forest Elves around her still using Cleaning Illusions, her expression serious as she looked toward the distant, ominously approaching Demon Army.

From afar, a field of negative evil energy and chaotic screaming began to invade the beings of Monster City.

The Black Wing Followers could manage, but many weak monsters were affected by the negative evil energy field and chaotic screams, their eyes bloodshot, growling and pounding the ground.

Seeing this, the Dragon Vein Mages wanted to cast magic to calm the emotions of those weaker monsters, but were directly refused by Shiji, the commander of this war.

"Don’t waste magic on these weaklings," Shiji said coldly.

He knew very well how brutal the upcoming war would be.

Rather than wasting a large amount of magic on those who can’t even resist the negative energy aura, it’s better to kill a few more demons.

After all, even as a Master-level powerhouse, Shiji wasn’t sure whether he could survive this war.

"This will be the toughest war Black Wing Nest has ever faced," Shiji murmured to himself, yet his gaze remained unwavering.

Shiji’s confidence in the Black Dragon Lord was deeply held, ingrained in his bones and blood.

Even though he clearly understood that this time, even the master might be powerless, he remained steadfast in his belief that over time, the master would grow stronger and sweep away these enemies.
