Chapter 718: Our Fireworks_2

In a daze, thinking about these key questions, the man in front of her said, "I’ll tidy up quickly. If you have something to do, go ahead."

Sheng Yi heard this and shook her head instinctively, "No, I don’t have anything to do."

After speaking, she pressed her lips tightly together, silently cursing herself for being a fool.

Yet her facial expression remained the same as before, "I’ll just stand here for a while." After saying this, she laughed awkwardly, making herself look even sillier.

"Hmm." He just hummed in response and didn’t ask anything more, turning around to tidy up the kitchen.

Sheng Yi obediently stepped aside.

Watching him focused on tidying, washing dishes, organizing, each step executed methodically without any chaos, the label of "domestic good man" and "perfect boyfriend" might as well be tattooed onto him.

Indeed, the more outstanding a man is, the less attainable he is.

She didn’t know how long she stared at him dazedly, until the sound of running water stopped, snapping her back to reality, realizing he had finished cleaning up.

She quickly turned to leave.

The living room was large and spacious, she wandered around aimlessly for a while, Dao An also came out from the kitchen.

To avoid awkwardness, she initiated some small talk, "I saw your computer on in the study earlier, with a bunch of documents on the table. Are you planning to work later?"

They had just had breakfast, and last night he mentioned going to the Empire State Building this afternoon, so they would depart around 5 or 6 o’clock. She figured he would probably be working from home until some time after noon.

Dao An came over, his rolled-up sleeves still not lowered, and instead of answering, he asked, "Is there anywhere you want to go?"

"Somewhere I want to go?" Sheng Yi asked back.

He nodded, "Yeah, if there’s anywhere you’d like to go, let me know."

Sheng Yi thought, did this mean that if she wanted to go somewhere, he would personally take her? Being together all the time, even when going out, was something she feared she couldn’t handle. Mainly because the person she liked was right in front of her and she had to restrain herself; the process was too torturous.

She shook her head, "I don’t have anywhere special I want to visit for now. If I get bored, I’ll just watch some shows."

As soon as she finished speaking, she heard him chuckle.

It was a soft laugh; Sheng Yi didn’t know why he laughed suddenly, she just looked at him.

He lowered his sleeves and came over, his hand casually raised, using the back of his fingers to lightly graze her cheek, an action so ambiguous that Sheng Yi’s body stiffened as if enchanted.

A pleasant male voice came from above her head, "I’ll be in the study. If you need anything or if there’s something, come find me."

He had already withdrawn his hand, and after saying this, he brushed past her, heading toward the study.

Sheng Yi didn’t turn around, touched her burning cheeks with both hands. If this continued, she feared she would soon falter. Did he know how flirtatious he was being? Regardless of whether he was doing it intentionally or unintentionally, Sheng Yi felt she should maintain some distance from him.

The time that followed was a bit dull, although certainly better than being in a hotel.

Then Sheng Yi made an astonishing discovery.

She realized that ever since she’d moved in last night, apart from some of her personal female items, there were no other female products in Dao An’s home. Neither the master bathroom nor the guest bathroom had any female products.

She even checked the walk-in closet, finding rows of suits and shirts—all men’s clothing, not a single female garment.

The good mood she was in was understandably great.

After confirming that Dao An and his girlfriend were not living together, she felt elated.

But she thought again, maybe Dao An and his girlfriend hadn’t been dating for long, just a few months? In that case, they likely wouldn’t be cohabitating. Thinking of this possibility, Sheng Yi couldn’t help but lightly smack her head, silently scolding herself, "What are you doing? Even if they’ve only been dating a few months, they’re still in a relationship."

Her worldview seemed more twisted by the moment.

This can’t go on!!

She hadn’t wandered around long before the temporary housekeeper arrived.

The temporary housekeeper had typical features often seen abroad—a high nose bridge, deep-set eyes, and double eyelids. She looked to be in her forties, slightly overweight, though she moved with agility despite her appearance.

Once the housekeeper came in, Sheng Yi could see by her familiarity with the home that she must have cleaned there several times before.
