Chapter 63: Chapter 63 Public Execution_1

The next day, Ophelia stayed in her cell, fidgety and uneasy, looking as if she couldn’t survive the day.

After she was captured, Aiden hadn’t thrown her into solitary confinement but instead had her returned to her own Cell No. 8.

Knowing Aiden as she did, she was certain that man wouldn’t let her off easily.

Participating in a riot, even attempting to assassinate the warden, these were not things that could be settled by just a few days in solitary or a longer sentence.

Frankly, if she could escape this prison through the toilet right now, she wouldn’t mind at all.

After some time had passed, she heard the sound of the Core Zone’s gate opening and couldn’t help but feel her heart sink.

Oh well, what was destined to come would come; whether it’s a blessing or a curse, you can’t hide from it.

She steeled her resolve, no matter what Aiden planned to do with her next, she wouldn’t even frown.

At the very least, she must preserve the dignity of a vampire prince!

So, several seconds later...

"Ophelia, it’s time for reckoning."

Aiden appeared at the cell door, calling out to her inside.

When he saw the scene inside the cell, he was silent for a moment, then couldn’t help but roll his eyes: "What are you doing hiding under the blanket?"

At first glance, there was no one to be seen in the cell, just a bulging blanket that was still trembling slightly, clearly hiding someone underneath.

"I, I’m not here!"

Due to her voice being muffled by the blanket, Ophelia’s voice sounded hollow.

"Stop avoiding reality, you have to pay the price for breaking the rules. You were so bold when you committed the crime yesterday, what’s the point of submitting to me like this now?" Aiden opened the cell door with a mix of annoyance and amusement and tapped the railing, "Hurry up, is this how a vampire prince behaves?"

This statement jolted Ophelia back to her senses; after all, there was no escaping, death was just burial by a few inches of earth. She had just resolved to confront the warden head-on, so why should she lose her nerve so easily?

With anger rising from her heart and courage bolstering her gall, she threw off the blanket and glared towards the door: "Fine, come on then, I’m not afraid of you—"

She stopped mid-sentence.

Because she saw Aiden standing sideways by the door, calmly pointing at a cross standing upright: "Very well, then go mount it yourself!"

At that moment, Ophelia felt her legs weaken.

"You... you just tell me what you are planning to do?" she asked tentatively, completely losing her earlier bravado.

"You’re not clear on what I want to do? I told you what would happen if you broke out of jail again," Aiden said while rubbing his hands in anticipation.

Ophelia then remembered when she tried to fight Aiden during her initial escape, he had threatened her with the words:

"If you dare to fight back, after I capture you this time, I will tie you to a cross, stuff garlic in your mouth, and throw you under the sun to roast for a day."

At that moment, Ophelia felt as if all the blood in her body turned cold.

"You wouldn’t... actually be serious, would you?" her voice trembled.

"A man’s word is his bond, I said I would make you sunbathe, and that’s what will happen." Aiden patted the cross and said, "You were so enthusiastic about making trouble, but now you look so pathetic when it’s time for punishment; you’re making this hard for me."

In that moment, Ophelia finally remembered the fear of being at the mercy of the warden, and the humiliation of being imprisoned in Rose Iron Prison.

"I don’t want to!!!" Ophelia clung desperately to the iron bed, no longer caring about dignity.

"Drag her out," Aiden turned his head and commanded Veronica, who stood behind him.

"Yes."

Veronica strode into the cell and walked over, showing no mercy as she pried Ophelia’s hands from the bed and hoisted her up to take her outside. freewebnoveℓ.com

"I don’t want to go to the execution ground! No! Let me go! Don’t—ahhh! Wah wah wah!!"

Ophelia struggled frantically, but without her magic power, she was truly no match for Veronica.

Veronica effortlessly held her, tied her hands and feet to the cross, just like tying up a fat sheep awaiting slaughter.

Then, Aiden stuffed a water bottle spout into Ophelia’s mouth. Ophelia instinctively tried to resist, but she soon realized that what was being poured into her mouth was not some dangerous holy water, but blood—not human blood, just the pig blood she was used to drinking in the Rose Iron Prison, collected from slaughterhouses.

Aiden gave her a few gulps before removing the water bladder, and Ophelia looked at him with confusion.

"Don’t get the wrong idea, last meal before the chop. I’m giving you some blood first so if you can’t hold out later, at least you’ll die with a full stomach," Aiden smiled at her, "But I think you’ll be fine. Vampires of Earl rank and above can resist some sunlight damage, and as a prince, you definitely won’t die."

After finishing, he put away the blood-filled water bottle and took a clove of garlic out of his pocket.

Ophelia’s scalp tingled at once: "Hey, you aren’t really going to..."

"Not a single step can be omitted." Aiden took a head of garlic out of his pocket and began peeling it.

The faint smell of raw garlic drifted over. To humans, this scent wasn’t anything special, but to vampires, it was a pungent stench.

"Can you act like a human being, please!" Ophelia felt utterly terrible.

"Quit your chattering, just open your mouth," Aiden said cordially to Ophelia as he held a few peeled garlic cloves, "Come on, say ’ahh—’"

Ophelia clenched her teeth and pursed her lips, turning her head away.

"Tickle her," Aiden said to Veronica.

"Yes."

Veronica dutifully carried out Aiden’s command, reaching from behind to aim for Ophelia’s armpit and started to tickle fiercely.

Since her hands were bound, Ophelia couldn’t dodge at all and was at the mercy of her tormentor.

Vampires’ sense of touch wasn’t much different from humans’. At first, she held out with determination for a little while, but after a few seconds, she began to twist uncomfortably. When Veronica increased the pressure, Ophelia couldn’t help but burst out laughing: "Pfft, haha...mmm! Mmmmm!"

Her laughter was abruptly cut off because Aiden quickly stuffed all the peeled garlic into her mouth and then promptly sealed it with a strip of tape.

Although vampires don’t need to breathe, Ophelia felt as if she were suffocating at that moment, the intense scent of raw garlic filling her mouth and nose, almost making her pass out.

But if she were to swallow the garlic, she could imagine the turmoil in her stomach, and the blood she had just imbibed would undoubtedly come surging back up.

"Take her away," Aiden waved his hand.

Immediately, two riot guards advanced and dragged the rolling-eyed Ophelia out toward the exterior of the core area.

The prisoners of the core area stood at the door to watch the public execution, all silent, even the one who usually caused the most trouble.

That day, the inmates of the core area fully understood the cruelty and ruthlessness of their prison chief.
