Chapter 191: Chapter 191: I’m Just a Passing Dark Universe Emperor
"You are..."
The moment the multicolored giant faced the Giant of Darkness, a sharp pain throbbed through his head. The crushing pressure was so overwhelming it nearly suffocated him.
"What are you hesitating for?"
The dark warrior’s voice echoed through the multicolored giant’s mind.
"Isn’t destroying monsters and protecting humanity the mission of us Ultra warriors?"
"What are you afraid of?"
"Or after becoming an Ultra warrior, have you already forgotten that you used to be human?"
The Giant of Darkness’s voice pressed into the multicolored warrior’s heart, question after question.
"I..."
The multicolored warrior seemed shaken. His body trembled slightly, and the Giant of Darkness’s words only made his already wavering heart falter even more.
"So you’ve started to sway..."
"That witch must have told you something, didn’t she?"
The Giant of Darkness seemed to see right through the reason the multicolored giant was so conflicted, constantly shifting between the identities of human and Ultra warrior, unable to decide where he stood.
The root of it all was that the Giant of Darkness, in other words Jovian, had taken over Tiga’s body. That had greatly agitated Yuzare and pushed her to personally interfere, accelerating Daigo’s growth and leaving his mind in a state of confusion.
"You know about that too..."
Daigo had not expected the Giant of Darkness to know even that. It was as if he had no secrets at all in front of him, and that only made his heart shake harder. At the same time, he began to doubt Jovian’s true identity even more.
"I know far more than you could ever imagine."
"Just look at you, spineless enough to make anyone sick..."
"I’ve got it. I’ll take you somewhere interesting and show you the real relationship between humans and Ultra warriors."
Jovian looked at the wavering multicolored giant and suddenly smiled. A new thought had come to him. Maybe Daigo wasn’t unusable after all. With a little guidance, he could become a pretty solid asset, for example...
"Come here. I’ll show you something amazing."
Jovian grabbed the multicolored giant by the head and ran toward the front of the island.
With a thunderous boom, the space before Jovian and the multicolored giant shattered like glass, instantly filling with countless cracks. Transparent fragments spread out in every direction, reflecting endless possible worlds.
In some, the Giant of Darkness tore apart worlds with his own hands.
In others, giants stood above mountains of corpses and ruled as kings of the world.
And there were countless other possibilities, countless worlds playing themselves out without end... freeweɓnøvel.com
In the end, Jovian brought the multicolored giant to the edge of the world, to a place that looked completely out of sync with the other Ultra worlds, as if it intersected with countless greater universes and existed on a higher dimension altogether.
"Where is this?!"
Daigo looked down at himself and discovered that, without realizing it, he had already reverted to his ordinary human form. He was still wearing his GUTS uniform.
Click.
Just as panic began to rise in him, the sound of a camera shutter rang beside his ear.
"You are..."
Daigo turned toward the sound and saw a man in a sharp suit holding an instant camera in a color somewhere between pink and purple, pointed right at him.
"This is ugly..."
The man fiddled with the camera, pulled a photo out of it, flicked it a few times in the sunlight, then handed it to Daigo.
"Mr. Jovian?!"
As Daigo took the photo, he finally got a clear look at the man’s face and was stunned.
"This is a world where Ultramen and humans cannot coexist. In a world like this, what path are you going to choose, Daigo?"
Jovian ignored Daigo’s reaction and walked straight to the railing of the observation deck. Resting both hands on it, he gazed out over the beautiful scenery and threw the question back at him.
"Mr. Jovian, before I answer your question, answer mine first."
"Who exactly are you? What are you to that dark warrior? And what exactly is this place?"
Instinctively, Daigo drew the pistol at his waist and aimed it at Jovian as he spoke.
"Even now, you’re still asking who I am?"
"Isn’t it obvious?"
"As for me..."
Jovian toyed with the instant camera he had swiped from some random punk while wearing the easygoing, unruly expression of someone who lived by his own rules.
"You are..."
Daigo’s eyes shook as he waited for the answer.
"As for me, I’m just a Dark Great Space Emperor passing through. Remember that."
The instant those words left his mouth, Jovian’s figure appeared directly behind Daigo.
"What?!"
Daigo had not expected him to move that fast, and panic flashed across his face.
"Oh, right. Let me give you one little warning."
"This isn’t just the world of Ultraman."
"There’s Ultraman here, there are Riders here, and there’s Godzilla too."
Jovian did not even look back at Daigo as he spoke.
"What does that even mean?"
Daigo looked completely confused. He had no idea what Jovian was talking about.
"Oh, and one more thing..."
"This camera isn’t mine. I stole it when I crossed worlds just now."
Jovian took the instant camera off his own neck, walked up to Daigo, and hung it around his neck instead.
"You stole this pink camera?"
Daigo froze. By now he had completely forgotten that he and Jovian were supposed to be on opposing sides, and he had also forgotten that Jovian had just smacked him upside the head not long ago.
"It’s not pink..."
The moment Daigo called the camera pink, Jovian’s brows drew together.
"Uh..."
Daigo looked at Jovian’s suddenly serious expression, utterly baffled about what he had said wrong.
"...it’s magenta."
Then Daigo heard Jovian correct his understanding of the camera’s color with absolute seriousness, as if identifying the proper color of the camera was one of the most important truths in the universe.
"Magenta?"
Daigo’s eye twitched slightly. He had no idea what kind of color magenta even was, but his good manners and kind nature made him choose respect and acceptance anyway.
"Oh, right, there’s one last thing. This is really the last thing."
Jovian seemed to remember something extremely important, important enough that he had to warn Daigo about it.
"What is it?"
Without realizing it, Daigo had been completely drawn into Jovian’s pace. He had already forgotten that his real goal had been to force Jovian to explain who he was and why he had brought him here.
"The order to kill Ultraman was given by Zoffy."
"You need to be careful. That worthless guy Zoffy has already sent the artificial weapon Zetton toward Earth."
"Take care."
Jovian patted Daigo on the shoulder, then stepped backward and vanished between worlds.
"What?!"
"What the hell was any of that supposed to mean?"
Daigo stared blankly at the place where Jovian had disappeared. He was completely dumbfounded. What did he mean, the order to eliminate Ultraman came from Zoffy? What was this about the artificial weapon Zetton?
Who the hell was supposed to translate all that for him? More importantly, what world was he even in right now? And was this Godzilla the same Godzilla from the movies?!
Clutching his head, Daigo widened his eyes. He was getting a headache, and at the same time he was utterly lost.
After dealing with Daigo, Jovian returned to Tiga’s world...
"You took care of that giant?"
The moment he returned, Jovian ran into Camearra’s human form. A beautiful, seductive woman wearing a black dress and dark ornaments, with faint patterns on her face, stood there looking at Jovian in white with openly affectionate eyes.
"Mm..."
"Not exactly. I just sent him somewhere interesting."
"In the future, he might end up being a surprisingly useful help to us."
Leaning against the railing, Jovian let the sea breeze wash over him and narrowed his eyes in comfort.
"I see..."
"So you’re stockpiling power?"
"Our power still isn’t enough?"
Camearra stepped up in front of Jovian and asked.
"Not even close. If we want the entire universe, then our enemies will fill the entire universe too."
"The bigger the ambition, the more enemies you make."
Jovian smiled as he answered her.
"The bigger the ambition, the more enemies you make..."
"Maybe we could give up the conquest. Maybe living properly on Earth wouldn’t be so bad."
After thinking for a while, Camearra seemed to come to some realization. Maybe it really was time for them to stop. Endless ambition only brought endless death, and what she had lived through thirty million years ago had changed her a great deal.
"Hahaha..."
"Maybe you’re right."
"It would be nice if we could live in peace."
"The only problem is that some people won’t let us."
Jovian smiled. He had already turned this universe upside down, and sooner or later those new-era thugs would come looking for trouble. To deal with those overpowered cheaters, enough strength was absolutely necessary.
"If anyone tries to disturb us, I’ll kill them! We can awaken the evil god Gatanozoa and use its terrifying power!"
"As long as we have Gatanozoa’s power, no enemy will be worth fearing!"
Rage flashed across Camearra’s face, and sparks of electricity shone in her eyes.
With a roar, the entire sky dimmed because of her anger. Endless lightning seemed to rumble within the clouds above.
"If Gatanozoa’s power were enough to stand against our enemies, that would be wonderful."
"But unfortunately, our enemies are far stronger than we imagine."
"One Gatanozoa isn’t nearly enough..."
Jovian waved a hand. Their enemies were those righteous team-up cheaters. Sending one poor Gatanozoa girl out there alone would just be suicide.
"The enemy is that strong?"
After hearing Jovian’s words, Camearra froze. She had never imagined their enemies could actually surpass the evil god Gatanozoa. That was beyond anything she had expected.
"That’s exactly how powerful our enemies are, which is why we need more, many more allies."
Leaning on the railing, Jovian gazed out into the endless cosmos. Maybe those idiots from Kingdom could be put to use too. That bunch of Absolutian fools could help him quite a bit.
"Oh..."
After hearing him, Camearra quietly murmured a response, then stood beside him in silence without another word. Just being able to stay at Tiga’s side like this already made her feel safe and at ease.
While Jovian and Camearra stood there enjoying the sea breeze, GUTS was operating at full speed.
They were searching frantically for Daigo.
Daigo’s sudden disappearance had left the entire team deeply troubled. It was possible he had gone off somewhere on his own, but they found it more likely that he had been abducted by aliens or had run into some other kind of danger.
There were dangers all across the universe, and Earth seemed to have half of them.
On a planet where even going to the bathroom or taking a trip to an amusement park could get you attacked by a monster, any kind of danger was possible.
That night...
Jovian was strolling alone through the base, as if taking a walk to clear his head.
"Hey! You’re the advisor with a lot of authority in this base, right?"
Just as Jovian was getting bored out of his mind, a voice reached his ears.
"What can I do for you?"
Hearing it, Jovian turned toward the speaker and asked.
"Hahahaha..."
"What can you do for me, you ask?"
"What I want is actually very simple!"
The figure stepped out from a dark corner and revealed himself completely. His voice was hoarse and full of authority.
"You Earthlings must show respect to us Kyriels!"
The man’s expression was cold, and ghostly blue flames seemed to burn in his eyes.
"And what do we Earthlings get out of that?"
Jovian looked at the stern middle-aged man and asked.
"Uh..."
The man clearly had not expected that question, and for a moment he was speechless.
"If you show respect to us Kyriels, you will receive our protection!"
"This planet was ours to begin with. We were already living here thirty million years ago. In other words, we appeared on this planet long before you humans or the ultra-ancient giants did. That means this planet’s rightful owners are actually us, so isn’t it perfectly reasonable for us to rule over humanity?"
The middle-aged man looked at Jovian smugly, as if this logic should have been obvious to anyone.
"Not reasonable at all."
"Cockroaches showed up on this planet three hundred and fifty million years ago. By your logic, should we be taking orders from cockroaches?"
Jovian frowned and shot back.
"Uh..."
The middle-aged man froze on the spot after hearing that.
"If you want us to obey you, fine."
"But let’s see something real. None of that empty nonsense, what’s the fun in that?"
Jovian casually threw an arm around the man’s shoulder and started sweet-talking him.
"What do you mean by that?"
"What exactly do you want us to do?"
The Kyriel looked at Jovian in confusion.
"What I mean is, this planet is going through huge changes right now. If you really want Earthlings to worship you, respect you, and treat you like guardian gods, then you need to prove yourselves first, right?"
"Get rid of all the trash threatening Earth, and Earthlings will naturally respect you. I’m right, aren’t I?"
Still smiling, Jovian kept his arm around the Kyriel’s shoulder as he asked.
"Ah..."
"That actually makes sense!"
The Kyriel’s eyes lit up with divine brilliance, wisdom no less than the Goddess of Water herself.
