Chapter 591: Chapter 591: You Must Not Let Her Go

Sawyer and Zachary Conway exchanged a look.

Zachary frowned. "Ms. Willow, when you delivered the meal to Starlight Apartments, did you notice anything unusual?"

"Unusual?" Sharon Willows’s brows furrowed. She thought carefully before asking in confusion, "What do you mean?"

Zachary Conway nudged Sawyer, signaling for her to ask.

"I mean physically," Sawyer said softly. "Did you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Speaking of which, Sharon Willows said, "There is one thing I found strange. I clearly remember Joy doing my makeup that day, but for some reason, I fell asleep afterward. When I woke up, there wasn’t a trace of makeup on my face."

Sawyer asked, "Did you ask Veronica Young about it?"

"I did." Sharon Willows nodded. "I mentioned it to Joy, and she said I was probably dreaming."

"She said you were dreaming. What do you think?"

"I don’t think it was a dream. It felt like it really happened."

"Okay." Sawyer asked carefully, "Besides that, was there anything else you found strange?"

Sharon Willows opened her mouth, then glanced at Zachary Conway, a hesitant look on her face.

"Is this something you’d rather I didn’t hear?" Zachary Conway immediately understood and stood up, walking to the door.

Sawyer gave Sharon Willows a gentle smile. "Ms. Willow, you can speak freely now."

A flush crept up Sharon Willows’s face. She said in a low voice, "When I woke up that day, I felt... uncomfortable. My underwear was bunched up, and one of the hooks on my bra was undone. I’m usually very particular about these things, so it felt very strange."

She paused before continuing, "I told my husband when I got home, but he said I must have just put my clothes on carelessly."

"And what do you think?"

"I... I don’t know what to say."

"Okay." Sawyer called Zachary Conway back in. She looked at Sharon Willows with a grave expression. "Ms. Willow, we received a tip that last Sunday, August 31st, Veronica Young and Emil Redmond put some kind of drug in the milk tea you drank, causing you to fall unconscious..."

"What?" Sharon Willows’s eyes widened in astonishment, her face a mask of shock. "Why would they drug me?"

Zachary Conway’s tone was grim. "Ms. Willow, do you know what Veronica Young does for a living?"

"She’s a streamer." Sharon Willows asked anxiously, "Did she... did she really drug me?"

Thinking back to that day, a terrible sense of foreboding rose within her.

"According to the report, after Veronica Young and Emil Redmond drugged you, another adult male entered the apartment."

As Sawyer finished speaking, Zachary Conway played the surveillance video Levi Hollis had sent them for her to see.

"Ms. Willow, this is the surveillance footage from outside apartment 903 at Starlight Apartments on the evening of August 31st."

Sharon Willows took the phone. She saw Emil Redmond leave, only to return shortly after with a heavy-set man.

Her face instantly turned deathly pale, and the phone CLATTERED to the floor.

Connecting this to the strange feeling she had that day, she began to tremble uncontrollably. "She didn’t... she wouldn’t..."

She didn’t dare finish the sentence.

Sawyer bent down and picked up the phone.

"The man arrived at around eight o’clock and stayed for an hour." Zachary Conway played another video clip. "According to our information, this man is the number three ranked fan on Veronica Young’s stream."

"She..." No matter how naive Sharon Willows might have been, she understood what had happened. "She used me?"

"It would seem so," Sawyer sighed.

Sharon Willows trembled with rage, her face ashen. "How could she do this? I’m her father’s wife! How could she face her father after doing something like this?"

Sawyer and Zachary Conway pressed their lips together, not knowing how to comfort her.

Sharon Willows was sobbing uncontrollably. "She’s gone too far! Officers, you have to make sure she doesn’t get away with this!"

"Nina, your skin is amazing," Veronica Young complimented Nancy Yules as she applied her makeup.

Nancy Yules was a little sleepy, but she forced herself to stay awake and reply, "No, it’s not. My pores are huge."

"Not at all," Veronica Young said. "It’s so smooth. Don’t be so modest."

Nancy Yules smiled, feeling drowsier by the second. "That’s weird. Maybe my blood sugar is high? I feel so sleepy after eating. I really want to sleep."

"Feeling sleepy?" A calculating glint appeared in Veronica Young’s eyes. "Want to rest for a bit? We can take the photos later."

"No, it’s okay." Nancy Yules tried her best to keep her eyes open. "It’s already getting late. I’m afraid if I fall asleep now, I’ll sleep until morning."

"That would be even better," Veronica Young replied subconsciously.

Nancy Yules asked groggily, "Joy, what did you say?"

"I said you should go sleep. It’s fine, I’ll set an alarm to wake you up." Veronica Young said, pulling her to her feet. "Go lie down for a bit. You’ll have more energy for the photoshoot later."

The words "No, thanks" were on the tip of her tongue, but Nancy Yules felt her limbs go weak. An indescribable sense of powerlessness washed over her, making it an effort to even speak.

"Nina, sleep," Veronica Young said, pushing her onto the bed. Her red lips curved into a cold, sinister smile. "Sweet dreams."

Nancy Yules collapsed onto the soft bed, completely drowsy. Her consciousness grew increasingly fuzzy, and soon, her eyes closed.

Veronica Young glanced at her, a flash of contempt in her eyes. When she turned around, she saw Emil Redmond leaning against the doorway.

"Is it time to change her clothes?" he asked.

"You’re that eager to change her clothes?" Veronica Young asked, her face dark.

"That’s not it, Joy. How can you say that? Didn’t you ask me for help last time?" Emil Redmond retorted. "If I don’t help, you say I’m trying to work you to death."

"I saw you just now. Your eyes were practically glued to her chest. Are they that nice to look at?"

"What nonsense are you talking?"

"Go, go, go! Get out!"

Emil Redmond glanced at the bed with a hint of regret. "So we’re really not changing her?"

"No need," Veronica Young snapped, glaring at him.

Emil Redmond returned to the living room and flopped onto the sofa. "So this chick was your high school’s beauty queen, huh? That number two guy is getting off way too easy."

"What?" Veronica Young kicked him. "You think it’s a waste unless she sleeps with you first?"

"I never said that. Don’t go putting words in my mouth."

The two of them argued for half an hour until Emil Redmond’s phone rang, putting a stop to their bickering.

"Stop yelling. It’s the number two guy. He’s voice calling."

"Hurry up and answer."

Emil Redmond answered the call, a sycophantic smile spreading across his face. "Bro, you here? In the parking lot? Alright, I’ll come down and get you."

Veronica Young had already gone into another bedroom.

Emil Redmond went downstairs to meet the number two fan. He was a muscular man in a black shirt and black trousers. His toned muscles were visible even through the fabric, and the buttons on his shirt were strained so tight they looked like they might pop off with the slightest movement.

"Bro, Joy is already waiting for you in the room." To avoid a repeat of last time, Emil Redmond quickly added, "She’s asleep, but that won’t affect your... time together, heh."
