Chapter 583: Chapter 583: She Could Still Turn to Faye Wyatt
Faye Wyatt and her three sweeties had a blast. The four of them drank a little too much and ended up staying the night at Faye’s place.
When they woke up, it was already high noon. The motorized curtains slowly opened from both sides, and brilliant sunlight streamed in through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows.
Sylvia Brooks was the first to wake up. She had already washed up and was sitting in the living room, ordering food on her phone.
"Summer, morning," Renee Jennings said, sitting down next to her. "What are you looking at?"
"Morning, Renee," Sylvia Brooks said, handing her the phone. "Ordering food. I’m starving. See if there’s anything you want."
Renee sat cross-legged and took the phone. "Michelle and Faye aren’t awake yet."
"Yeah," Sylvia Brooks said. "Let’s let them sleep a little longer."
"Okay, I’ll order for them too, then."
"Sure."
An hour later, the doorbell rang.
The food Sylvia Brooks had ordered had arrived.
As if drawn by the scent, Michelle Fuller emerged from her room with messy hair, yawning as she spoke, "How long have you two been up?"
"You woke up at the perfect time," Renee Jennings teased. "Did you smell the food? The meal Summer ordered just arrived."
"Wow, this is the best," Michelle Fuller said, her face alight with happiness. "A feast right after waking up."
"Go get washed up," Renee Jennings said with a slight raise of her eyebrows and a soft laugh. "I’ll go wake Faye up."
"You got it~"
"Faye," Renee Jennings said, knocking on Faye Wyatt’s door. "Faye, it’s time to eat."
"Renee," Faye Wyatt said, pulling the door open. She tied up her hair as she spoke, "Why are you guys up so early?"
"The food Summer ordered has arrived."
"Thank Summer for me, for taking care of everyone."
Sylvia Brooks overheard this and came closer. "Faye, don’t be so formal with me. Hurry up and get ready so you can eat."
"Alright, since we’re all sweeties, I won’t stand on ceremony," Faye Wyatt said with a grin. "I’m going to wash up now. You guys go ahead and eat."
Renee Jennings and Sylvia Brooks started opening the food containers one by one.
"It smells so good!" Michelle Fuller said, drawn by the aroma to the dining table. She reached out and patted Sylvia Brooks’s shoulder. "Summer."
"What’s up?" Sylvia Brooks asked, turning her head to look at her.
Michelle Fuller made a heart shape with her hands. "I’m so lucky to have you."
Everyone laughed at her antics, and they enjoyed the meal in a warm and happy atmosphere.
The doorbell rang abruptly.
Hearing the sound, Faye Wyatt put down her chopsticks. "Did you guys order something else? I’ll get the door."
"Did Summer order something again?" Michelle Fuller asked while chewing on a garlic spare rib.
Sylvia Brooks blinked, a hint of confusion in her voice. "Huh? I didn’t order anything."
Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow. "I didn’t order anything either."
"Then maybe it’s a delivery for Faye, or a guest?" Michelle Fuller said, turning her head to look toward the door.
Faye Wyatt, assuming it was the delivery person, didn’t check the video intercom and pulled the door open directly.
"Fanny."
When she saw the person standing outside, the smile on Faye Wyatt’s face instantly froze. A flash of shock appeared in her eyes. "What... are you doing here?"
Zoe Morgan raised a hand to take off her sunglasses, revealing swollen eyes with pale blue circles underneath. Her face was also pale and haggard. "I texted you, but you didn’t reply. I figured since it’s Sunday, I’d just come over."
Faye Wyatt pressed her lips together, silent.
"What’s wrong?" Zoe Morgan forced a smile, trying to joke lightly. "Am I not welcome?"
"It’s really not a good time today," Faye Wyatt said. "I have guests."
Zoe Morgan said dismissively, "It’s fine. You just entertain your guests. Don’t worry about me."
After saying that, she brushed past Faye Wyatt’s shoulder and walked inside on her own.
In the entryway, there were three pairs of shoes in different styles.
Zoe Morgan looked them over as she changed her shoes.
’Three girls?’
’Faye Wyatt never had many female friends. How could three of them show up all at once today?’
"Zoe Morgan," Faye Wyatt said in a low voice. "I’ll contact you later."
She didn’t want to ruin the three sweeties’ good mood.
"What did you just call me?" Zoe Morgan frowned and glanced sideways at her, a bad feeling rising in her heart.
Faye Wyatt had never called her by her full name before.
"You should leave for now," Faye Wyatt said calmly, meeting her somewhat scrutinizing gaze. "We’ll talk later."
Zoe Morgan took a deep breath and forced a smile. "It’s fine. I don’t mind that you have other people over."
With that, she slung her bag over her shoulder and walked into the living room without even changing into slippers.
She was seething inside, determined to see who was at Faye Wyatt’s house that would make her unwelcome.
Zoe Morgan walked into the living room and saw the three figures sitting at the dining table. Her steps halted abruptly, and she froze as if struck by lightning.
’How could it be them?’
The three people she had just seen yesterday were now sitting around the dining table in Faye Wyatt’s home, dressed in casual, comfortable pajamas, eating a meal.
Her face filled with shock, Zoe Morgan stiffly turned her head to look at Faye Wyatt. "What... is the meaning of this?"
Then, she looked back toward the dining table.
Renee Jennings slowly and methodically sipped her hot and sour soup, treating Zoe as if she were thin air.
Sylvia Brooks said hesitantly, "Vincent’s aunt, we meet again."
"Summer, you’ve got it wrong," Michelle Fuller said with a mischievous grin. "She’s Yvonne’s dad."
Zoe Morgan’s expression instantly turned hideous. She gritted her teeth. "Don’t you go too far."
"Have we gone as far as you?" Renee Jennings scoffed. "You had Zachary Morgan give you a daughter, and then had Aria Sinclair raise her for you."
"You..." Zoe Morgan opened her mouth but didn’t know how to refute it. She said, with no conviction, "Y-You’re spouting baseless accusations."
She frantically grabbed Faye Wyatt’s hand, her voice filled with urgency. "Fanny, don’t listen to her nonsense. I didn’t do it."
She couldn’t lose Faye Wyatt.
If Aria Sinclair decided to retaliate against her, she could still take refuge with Faye Wyatt.
’Although she’s just a zoo director, her brother is Frederick Wyatt, the mayor of Zenvia City.’
Faye Wyatt pulled her hand back, her gaze cold and indifferent as she looked down at her. "Zoe, in your heart, what do I even mean to you?"
"Fanny, you’re my best sister," Zoe Morgan said, grabbing her hand again. "I don’t have any sisters. In my heart, you *are* my sister. You have to believe me."
This time, Faye Wyatt forcefully threw her hand off, her voice filled with disappointment. "Zoe Morgan, that’s enough. I see you for who you really are now."
"Fanny, don’t listen to their nonsense!" Zoe Morgan said in a panic. "They’re deliberately trying to drive a wedge between us! You can’t believe them!"
"Stop talking," Faye Wyatt said, her face taut with impatience. "I don’t want to hear it. You’re not the Zoe Morgan I used to know. You’re completely inhuman."
"Fanny, please let me explain..."
"I don’t want to hear it!" Faye Wyatt didn’t want to frighten her three sweeties, so she struggled to suppress her erupting emotions. Her voice was as cold as ice. "From now on, we’ll go our separate ways. We have nothing to do with each other anymore!"
Zoe Morgan shook her head desperately, choking back sobs. "Fanny, don’t be like this. You’re my best sister. I can’t lose you!"
