Chapter 973: Chapter 1000: Honesty and Courage (4)

The boy awkwardly shut his mouth, looking at her without daring to speak.

"You go in first," Windsor Myres looked at him for a long while before urging him.

The boy tightly pressed his lips together and turned to go back to the room.

Watching his back, Windsor Myres felt overwhelmed with annoyance; she turned to the side and kicked the wall hard.

For two whole years, she followed Cherry Lewis, frequently attending business soirées and places like that, but she was always careful and never let anyone take advantage of her. Yet, the only time she got tipsy at a restaurant near the school, she ran into Ali Harris.

She seemed to have the worst luck. Wasn’t it just to spite Camden River that she touched his hand in class back then?

What’s wrong with this boy? Ever since Camden River left, he’s been clinging to her, like a total creep.

With his height not even reaching 1.8 meters, that hesitant manner of speaking, and his pathetic eagerness to please — if she hadn’t been drinking, there’s no way anything would’ve happened between them.

That night she indeed drank a bit too much. She called Camden River, but he said he was in class and quickly hung up.

She acted impulsively, consumed by anger and grievance, unable to understand the point of waiting like this. With a semi-revenge and semi-indulgent mindset, it happened that one time. The next day when she woke up, she regretted it bitterly.

Windsor Myres clenched her fists, took a deep breath, intending to enter the room when she bumped into Great Benevolent Turner coming out from the restroom.

Seeing Great Benevolent Turner’s tight-lipped expression, she was taken aback.

Simply wanted to die.

Most of the rooms in the club have restrooms, making the public restroom more of an ornament. It’s rarely used, and she had forgotten that Great Benevolent Turner went out to make a call earlier and hasn’t returned.

The two of them stared at each other for a while, and Windsor Myres stiffened her face and asked, "Did you hear?"

"Why?" Great Benevolent Turner softly asked, tears falling as soon as she spoke.

Windsor Myres was extremely annoyed, "What do you mean, why?"

"If you like him, why do you keep getting tangled up with others? How can you insult him like this, Windsor Myres? How can you insult him like this!"

Great Benevolent Turner shouted the last sentence, and Windsor Myres froze, stepping forward to cover her mouth, dragging her to the corner of the restroom.

Great Benevolent Turner raised her hand to pry Windsor’s hand away.

Windsor Myres let go and coldly said, "What’s wrong with you?"

Great Benevolent Turner covered her mouth and let out a sob, squatting down against the wall, holding her knees as she cried quietly.

She was silent but cried fiercely, her shoulders shaking. In Windsor Myres’s eyes, she frowned tightly. Squatting down, she said, "Camden River and I already broke up when he left, so I didn’t betray him. It was an accident, do you understand? An accident."

"An accident," Great Benevolent Turner sobbed and laughed, "Ha, an accident, an accident."

She understood, but she just couldn’t accept it.

For the man she cherished in her heart, how did he end up with such a girl?

Was he blind?

A destined catastrophe?

Just like her, falling for him, destined to endure such pain for a lifetime.

Great Benevolent Turner stayed silent, and Windsor Myres bit her lip thoughtfully, her expression changing a few times before she quietly said, "If you’re smart, you’ll forget this matter. Telling him won’t help anyone, and Camden River will only suffer more. Don’t you love him? If you love him that much, don’t say things that will hurt him, understand?"

Great Benevolent Turner bit her lip hard, her eyes red as she looked at Windsor but said nothing.

"I trust you know what to do, Great Benevolent Turner," Windsor Myres said, gasping for breath, before standing up.
